The place has a good location, near the historical center, but in a decay street. They have one floor of an old pallazzo, which was renovated, but the building is falling apart. The room was small, the breakfast poor. They have good people, but they can not compensate with the lack of investments and the terrible noise coming form the tenants and the young people coming in the center for a beer and fun.The price is overrated; we paid over euro 200, instead of a maximum 70. In top of all, no running water over the night. Napoli is great, don't miss it.

parfait, perfect a surprising and beautiful hotel particulary when the taxi dropp you of on the front of the old palazzo in the evening with almost no light. You have to ask your driver if it is the correct place and adress as the entrance has not been renewed for 200 years, some windows are missing glass, painting etc.... and then you go up the old staircases in marble and you open the door of the hotel .Then you are transported in another magic world.Book this hotel just to have breakfast served in this mangificent "salon" and to experience the kindness og the staff. Highliy recommanded*******

Having struggled across the cobbled streets of old Naples with our suitcase, and squeezed into the small lift that takes you to the 2nd floor, where the hotel is located, we were greeted in the most friendly and welcoming way we've ever experienced in any hotel, ever. The receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was perfectly adequate, overlooking the street you walk along to get to the hotel. Usual limited-choice of English-language channels on the (sky-equipped) TV. The only unusual feature was the bathroom had 2 shower heads in its "wet" end (there was no separate shower or bath). Breakfast was served in a wonderfully-decorated room, like a ballroom. Our only criticism of the hotel is that the choice of things to eat at breakfast was a bit limited, and certainly began to pall after 4 days. The hotel's location on the corner of the old town, and therefore close to the swankiest new shops to the south-west is perfect, although it is at least a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro stop. We would happily stay there again.

A lovely hotel in the historic centre. Lots to see in walking distance and a quick taxi ride from station and waterside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only down side is the beds. They were not very comfortable (quite a big minus) but we were so tired at the end of the day we hardly noticed. They should invest in decent pillows and bedding, then it would bring the hotel up to a 10 for its price range!

Decumani was a very good surprise. We arrived by car and had to drive into really tight streets (which are also restricted to local traffic, so if you drive there, be sure to let hotel staff know or you may get a fine), which is now one more story to tell friends at home. Staff has been excellent from the first minute, always tirelessly doing whatever was necessary to accomodate requests and really helpful on giving useful information on activities in town. We were there in August, so not much difference for being close to the university. Hotel building looks run down from the outside, but interior will surprise you, it is an old 'palace' and breakfst room looks really nice. Staff definitely the highlight.

The hotel was great....although as you drive through Naples, it is not very appealing due to the trash in the city ( apparently this is a constant problem of Naples). Also the hotel has a very small elevator ( it barely fits 2 people). \Once inside it is great! They did a great job restauring the old and adding some new features. would definitely recommend a stay.

I loved this hotel - the rooms were lovely, the staff were really helpful and their recommendations of where to eat were spot on (and reasonable). Despite being right in the centre, the hotel was quiet. Don't be put off by the immediate access - the lift and stairs are pretty grotty!! Just one small quibble - I thought (for the price) the breakfasts could have been better (although there was espresso coffee!)

Management and service personnel could not do more for us. They went overboard to help us find the places, restaurants and sights that we were interested in. WE became ill during our stay and they went out for medicine at night for us. What more can we say. BELLO!

This hotel was a gem. Finding it was a challenge, the taxi driver took us to the wrong hotel. When the second driver found the hotel we were concerned about the location. Once we found the elevator and made our way upstairs we were pleased with our choice. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff was fantastic. The location turned out to be great. The hotel is in the heart of old town, and once we figured out the streets we began to understand the city. We had mixed experiences with the Taxi drivers. Be sure to be firm about what you are willing to pay. Our first driver dumped us off at the wrong hotel and tried to tell us that we owed him 20 Euros because it was a holiday (even though the meter said 8). You shouldn't pay more than 12 Euros including luggage handling to get to the hotel from the railway station. After arriving we walked everywhere, avoiding the taxi system. Another note of warning, the first restuarant we went to ripped off our credit card number and tried to charge 1,500 Euros to it. The bank card company refused the charges and cancelled the card. Not a great start to our trip, however we were able to get past these incidences and find the charm of Naples. Naples is gritty, there is not doubt about it. You have to dig your way past the crusty exterior and you will find a city full of art treasures, passionate people and time honored traditions.

Very neat hotel in the best location possible in Naples. Had there be more people in the breakfast room it would have been very inconvenient. But we were lucky.

We stayed 3 nights at this newly restored hotel. The hotel is really nice, the rooms are perfect, quiet and very clean. The personal are really very helpful in all what you can have as questions. The location in Naples is also very good because it is not far away of the Toledo street and the historical center (you can to it by foot). The only point which could be improved is the breakfast (a bit too poor).

Naples is different from other Italian cities, so the first appearance of the hotel is lack-luster. The hotel is located in the historical center of the city and is within walking distance of most attractions. The owners have done a wonderful job of restoring part of this old building. The only complaint would be the extra-firm beds which are less than comfortable after a long day of sight-seeing. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and eager to please; they recommended everything from the must-see sights of Naples to restaurants nearby.
