If you want to do shopping and stay in a noisy place (three times more noisy than our Oxford street) then this place is covenient. But don't expect any facilities other than free internet and basic breakfast.

We can highly recommend this hotel. For Naples it is very quiet, situated in a wonderful street, the rooms are clean, breakfast is astonishingly rich for Italian standards. The reception staff is competent and friendly. The breakfastroom is too small for the number of rooms, the breakfast personnel is non too friendly.

I recommend this hotel if you are in Naples because of the price/qualitiy, the employees and the area where the hotel is situated. Via Toledo and the house number of the hotel are easy to find but on the bell there is no denotation to the Albergo. Bell on "campania".

The hotel is very well situated and we had a warm welcome. The room was a haven of coolness and rest in the middle of the city. From the hotel we could easily walk to all the sites in Naples we wanted to visit. We had a very nice time!

I absolutely loved my stay in beautiful crazy Naples. The hotel is in a wonderful safe, central location, close to everything and a bus ride from the station. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, with useful tips for travel, eating out etc. The rooms are spacious, clean, no frills, just what we needed. The breakfast will set you up for the day. I would recommend taking the funicular railway from Via Toledo and making your way to St. Elmo's Castle for spectacular views of Naples. We only had 2 days and one was spent in Pompei, so I will be back. Enjoy the sport of crossing the road, normal rules do not apply. H

This hotel is a gem: comfortable and affordable. The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms are smallish but fully equipped, and wireless internet is available free of charge. The staff speaks English and is very helpful. When you enter the hotel from a busy shopping street you cross a courtyard, take the elevator up to the second floor, and enter a quiet oasis. And they serve a very good breakfast.

This was the second time we stayed at the Albergo (first time was 9 years ago) and we would stay there again a third time. Spacious and clean rooms, friendly and helpfull staff. The hotel is located perfectly. A bit noisy at night but only when the windows are opened. Well recommended!!!

The hotel is indeed not the easiest to find (it is not clear at first sight which of the bells on the outer street door to ring, if you arrive at a time of day when that that is closed), but once we had located it we had an ideal stay. It was afraid that any hotel in downtown Naples would be impossibly noisy, but this one is surprisingly quiet. I found the staff unfailingly pleasant and helpful and the breakfasts were very tasty. I will certainly try to book here again next time I come Naples.

This hotel is not easy to find. There is no signage on the street and the hotel is part of an old palacio with a large imposing green gate with a small door facing the street. If you arrive at a time of day when the green gate is not open it's very difficult to imagine there may be a hotel inside. We needed to phone the hotel from the street to verify we had the correct address. Once through the gate the hotel is up a floor either by way of a flight of stairs or a small - coin operated elevator! The front desk staff were helpful and the room was comfortable if a little shabby. Worst thing about this hotel -- the breakfast, Best thing -- the free internet point in the public area. Not sure we would stay here again.

Despite the fact that we had checked the hotel out fairly thoroughly via reviews, etc., beforehand, the Albergo principe Napolit'amo was a pleasant surprise to us. Being in the historic centre of Napoli, the hotel was a lot quieter than we had expected, mainly because the street it is situated on is predominantly pedestrian. We therefore found it to be a haven of peace in the heart of 'crazy' Napoli (those who have experienced the traffic there will understand!). The hotel sign was a little confusing (being different from the hotel name) but previous reviews had already alerted us to the fact it could be a little hard to find. Staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the facilities. The very tall ceilings gave a tremendous sense of spaciousness to already spacious rooms, and they were tastefully furnished. A very nice ambiance.

Hotel céntrico a corto paseo del casco antiguo y a pocos pasos del barrio español. La habitación sencilla e impecable, muy limpia.Baño reformado no hace mucho tiempo.

Very good location on the pedestrian part of Via Toledo in the heart of Naples. Very helpful english speaking reception. Good restaurants in the neighborhood. The only negative experience was a reoccurring bad smell in the room ("standard" room) coming from the drainage in the bathroom. Obviously this was a known occurrence to the staff and a reduction on the price was made by the reception after we asked for it. Actually we should have asked for a different room right at the start. "Superior" rooms are much bigger than "standard" rooms and also seem to be of considerably higher quality overall. Not easy to find the entrance from the street. Comments and descriptions from other guest on finding the entrance are helpful. We would choose this hotel again, - but ask for a different/better room!

If you want to visit Napoli, Hotel Napolit'amo is a really good choice for the money. It's easy to reach (Foot walk to Montesanto or Spaccanapoli) but quite, the stuff is really friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent (they have "normal" breakfast but also the more "healthy" one with cereals, and the also give you a n espresso and not only the often seen coffesoup...) And if you open the window, you get anice odeur from a small bakery downstairs.

The hotel was very difficult to find. None of taxi drivers seemed to know of it, we were very lucky to have an honest driver, who came back to make sure he dropped us at the correct location....and it wasn't. So he spent quite awhile helping us to find it. You had to go thru a green steel door, and up a flight of stairs to get to the reception. They either need to provide better directions or mark the location more visibly. The room was large and adequate, but the air-conditioning wasn't working, and even after we notified the front desk, nothing was done to correct the problem! It was hot, even hotter because we were on the second floor, and keeping the window open only meant all the street noise came into the room. The receptionist tried to be very helpful, the owner was difficult for her to get in touch with, and he really wasn't concerned about the broken a/c. He offered us a discount of 10 dollars....BIG DEAL...considering the reason to have a room is for comfortable sleeping, and no a/c meant very uncomfortable or no sleep.

If you can't afford the rate for an high class hotel with a view on the gulf, but at the same time don't want a mean accomodation in one of the many cheap hotels close to the railway starion, this is definitively the place you are searching for. An apartment on the first floor of an ancient palace, this hotel offers you cleanliness and real atmosphere. The minor defects (poor breakfast) aren't really a problem in the centre of Naples, while the pros (quiet rooms) are uncomparable.

If you're coming to Naples by car reconsider. If you insist you better put it in a closed garage! The one that the reception suggested (for 18 euros )was full and their second choice was unbelievably expensive (48,60 euros) but we were able to find another one by ourselves right across of the hotel ("supergaraze"-nice fellows )for 18,60 euros per day. The hotel was really nice and the location was the best. Staff was friendly and welcoming and the room was very big, averagly clean with perfect view to the pedestrian street. Breakfast was OK. There was some noise from the corridors and another problem was the kind of electrical plugs they had: I wasn't able to charge my laptop or use my personal hairdryer. PS. The hotel is kind of difficult to spot: look for an enormous green - usually open door and then go to the first floor. The end.

We had a very pleasant stay here in the heart of Naples. The hotel people very friendly & helpful. Very surprising was the breakfast with such a variety to choose from. The hotel on the first floor of a former palazzo with high rooms, simply furnished, quite easy to find, not at all pretentious. Highly recommended unless you are looking for greater comfort - for us it was ideal with a double room, double bed in a room looking onto a side street.

Absolutely perfect stay !!! Nearly a "MUST" if you travel to Naples. The hotel is not quite easy to find but if you read all the comments of the other guests carefully you can't miss it. Besides: if you arrive from airport with the Alibus you will have a very nice walk of approx. 500 m right on the beginning of your vacation. (If you arrive from the train-station with the R2 the walk is a little bit shorter but not quite so nice). The hotel is situated right on Toledo street in an old Palais with a big green door. Breakfast is also very very fine. We want to thank all the people of Neapolit'amo once again!!! And Naples was fascinating AND safe !!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. We got a bigger room than ordered but weren't charged extra cash. The room was spacious. Though next to a shopping street it wasn't noisy. We had to stay in Naples one night to catch an early morning flight, so this suited our needs. I don't think we would have found it had it not been for previous reviews with very specific instructions. The room was huge, but not a lot of ambiance. We were gone before breakfast, so cannot comment on that. We really did not like Naples, so that likely had something to do with our impression of the hotel. Fellow at the front counter was more than helpful.

This is so far the best (and cheapest) hotel we have stayed in during our entire Italy trip (we went to Rome, Florence, Venice, Capri, Napoli); all rooms we booked were through venere.com. The location was perfect although its quiet a long walk from the bus stop; especially if you carry some luggage. Our stay was great - rooms very clean and spacious although some problem with the noise (people walking the corridors outside). The only complaint I have was that they don't have a hotel sign at all! We found the building number but there was no hotel name outside. It was a good thing we asked around or we would have missed the hotel as it was not on the ground floor and you have to enter a gate.

This is a hidden Gem in Naples. I chose this hotel after reading all the good comments. Book this hotel and then, like me, you will realize that all the good comments are true. The hotel is in a good location. It's on via Toledo Not far from Piazza Municipio (where the R2 bus coming from Napoli centrale stops) and not very far from the pier for the ferry to Capri or Sorrento. The facilities are very nice and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. I felt welcomed the minute I walked into the hotel. Melcy, the girl at the reception was very nice and gave me great tips about Naples, Pompei and where to go to eat the best pizza and the best Sfogliatella in Naples. Thanks Melcy! I had been traveling in Italy for almost 3 weeks and it was very nice to find this kind of hospitality in Naples. I will definitely stay at this hotel the next time I visit Naples.

This was my WORST hotel experience in Italy. I booked a single, but was charged for a double room. Although my reservation was CONFIRMED by venere, they switched my to their ugly, anoynomous sister hotel. So beware! I strongly recommend that Venere REMOVE this hotel from its list until such unacceptable treatment of guests ends. Only bright spots: free internet and very nice employees.

The hotel is very comfortable, the staff are friendly, the bathrooms are large and clean and if you read the instructions it is not a difficult hotel to find (our room was 100euros for a couple). It is in an excellent part of the city, busy but not excessively noisy. We were not robbed and ate magnificent food. Frankly I preferred breakfast at cafes nearby but the one supplied in the hotel is reasonable. You must ask for espresso coffee though, otherwise Nescafe is offered - not what you want to drink in Napoli! Don't be frightened of the narrow local streets (Spagnolo)as there are some great (small) restaurants just a few steps away making local dishes.

Quite nice, a bit difficult to find (It's in an internal area, outside you can't really understand that beside that big green door there's this nice hotel). Good price, nice staff, the elevator is locked so you must do the stairs by yourself. If you don't have very heavy luggages or mobility problems is not a real problem, because it's at the first floor. Finally, the position is fantastic, is in the main Naple's street, in the center and pedestrian area (so it's also very quiet during the night). Really recommended

The hotel itself was just fine. The climb up the steps were alot with no elevator but otherwise the hotel was fine. It was very difficult to find. Had to call the hotel for more specific directions. PLEASE heed the warnings about the thefts around the train station. I had a bag stolen with digital camera, brand new video recorder, all my souveniors, my personal jewelry and IPOD stolen. My advise is: TAKE A TAXI FROM THE TRAIN STATION TO THE HOTEL. DO Not fool with the R2 bus. If going to Sorrento, Positano, take the ferry. It is only 3 euro more than the train and MUCH less crowded and more relaxing. I do not intend to return to Naples. The Sorrento area yes, but definitely not Naples. It was dirty, the food was not very good compared to other Itay areas.

This hotel is quite little - it occupies one storey of the big eclectic palazzo on the old pedestrian street in the very center of old Napoli (Piazza Plebiscito, Piazza Municipio and the hectic Spanish Quarters are in 3 mnts walk). I didn't manage to find the hotel at the first glance (though the entrance is from the very street) - perhaps they should stress on their site and at venere.com that the visitor ought to call in "centro turistico napolitamo" bell - this is another name of the same hotel. The strong point is that the guest keeps keys from the main door - it is really convenient if you like to live on your own and may return late. Three reception girls were extremely friendly and ready to help (all of them speak English perfectly well), having at hand bus and ferry schedules and museum guides. There were no phone and freeze in my room (perhaps it could be uncomfortable for a more sofisticated guest), but all rooms are equipped by safebox and air conditioner. Breakfast is rather simple (for me it's not a disadvantage) but coffee and pastries are excellent. There's also a cafe (pasticerria - ristorante) called Augustus in the same house where it's possible to have a bite in case you like to sleep till noon. Besides, there's a famous bookshop Giangiacomo Feltrinelli (entry from the square, right to the building) where i's possible to buy a plan of the city and some guides.

Nice place to stay in a good part of town. Good English spoken by Reception staff. Breakfast very good. Free Internet access. Slight negatives: Difficult to find hotel and, once found, hotel name doesn't appear in full on intercom. 10c required to use lift (but coins provided by Reception if you need one). Word of warning: Be aware of pickpockets everywhere in the city. We were robbed on the R2 bus going back to the station the morning after our stay.

Hotel Albergo Principe Napolit'amo is a good choice for everybody who is looking for a well-situated hotel in Naples because it's close to the harbor as well as to the shopping area. Principe Naplit'amo is excellent for this, situated just on the main shopping street in the middle of the city but still quiet and undisturbed. Very nice service and price at exactly the right level. Consigliato!!!

Right in the heart of Naples. The main street is just out your front door but with that comes some noise and everyone is home and locked up by 9.00pm. One way street to get to hotel (from the north)and it is also used more as a pedestrian area than for traffic...

The hotel is directly in the centre of the pedestrian area at a street with a lot of shops and bars. I`m glad that we had a hotel in this part of the city and not near the central station where it`s more dirty and less nice. We didn`t have any problem to find the hotel. It`s very safe behind a heavy door from where the stairs lead to the hotel, no one can enter the court without a key. The hotel is very central and you can reach most of the sightseeings by walk and also the seashore and the harbour. There are several restaurants in the vicinity. Also the cableway to another nice part of the city is only a few minutes away. We enjoyed the stay in Naples and would recommend it to everyone. The "double room with kingsized bed" was large and clean, the bathroom was also ok and clean. The cleaning woman didn`t give us new towels one day although we had dropped them onto the floor. We got new ones from the staff without any problem. The staff was friendly and helpfully. The safe in the hotel room was loose in the cupboard so I wouldn`t leave money there...You don`t hear any noise from the street but we heard the couple in the room next to us very loudly in the middle of the night! The breakfast(a tasty coffee and a fresh croissant)is served in the bar Augustus directly infront of the hotel. We liked having breakfast there, it`s the way Italians have their breakfast. Mostly you can even choose what you want to have for breakfast. Take care of pickpockets in Napels and use large shoulder bags and no small handbags. Put your money near the body so it won`t be any problem. Overall we enjoyed the stay a lot and would definitely return to the Albergo Principe Napolit'amo! Grazie!

First time I have stayed at the Napolit'amo. Great place, friendly staff, exceptionally quiet and clean, very nice furniture in the room. It was my first time visiting Naples, and the location on the via Toledo (where no cars are allowed) is fantastic, and close to all the major buildings and the archaeology museum. Also close to the rail station that will take you to Baia, Cuma, and Pozzuoli if you are an archaeology enthusiast (I am). I would definitely stay again if I go to Naples.

Room was large and clean. Although, this website overview mentions internet access and bar facilities on site, the computer is actaully at the 'sister' hotel (also with the same name so be careful that you don't get the two confused!). The sister hotel is about 5 minutes walk away so it isn't too much of a hassle to get there. The hotel is very secure - during the night, the main large courtyard door is locked as well as the hotel access door which was great. The rooms are almost sound proofed from the outsite (no street noise) however, the floors are tiled inside the rooms and the hallways so any noise inside the hotel echoes quite loudly! Good location for sightseeing (right on via Toledo) however, bordering on dodgy area so need to keep your wits about you (we were the target of pickpockets when travelling on public transport to this location). As excpected in Italy, breakfast was a croissant and coffee in the cafe downstairs from the hotel.

A good mid-price choice. Room was enormous (twin superior) and the reviews were right about the high ceilings - v light and airy. Room was very clean & the staff were helpful. Slightly difficult to find as the map wasn't v helpful. Area is good for local sights, easy walking distance to most. The hotel is advertised on the door of a building as 'Tourism Napolit'amo' rather than as a hotel. There is no breakfast room so you are given a voucher for a coffee and croissant at the deli/cafe next door, which is slightly hectic in the mornings with all the locals doing the same but does give you more of an insight into local life and you can drool over the amazing pastries and cheeses too.

I had some difficulties to find the hotel. Knowing the house number I entered the right Palazzo, but there was NO sign of a hotel. Here is what you do: Go accross the inner yard to the backside staircases, go up to the first floor and ring at the dorr where there are two signs, one of a legal office, the other sign says something like "friends of Naples". THIS is the hotel. It was clean and nice. There was a lot of noise from other guests coing and going at night, but you can't blame this on the hotel. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast. You get a voucher for the bar in front, but this one opens at 7am. Bad luck for early birds

This is an impressive palazzo with immense high-ceilinged rooms, spotlessly clean, very nice bathroom and good beds. Very friendly staff. Lovely lobby and halls, very nice all around. Good noise-blocking windows with little balconies over the pedestrian section of busy Via Toledo. Excellent room, very central location and at a great price! Breakfast included at the cafe next door, just coffee and croissant, but also try their fabulous warm sfogliatelle and fresh spremuta d'arancia! The hotel was not hard to find at all except that the street numbering system is odd, with numbers ascending on one side of street and descending on the other. Once you realize you must look at the numbers on BOTH sides of the street and not assume that 148 is across the street from 147, as it would be in many cities, it is easy. The lift requires payment of 10 cents, but it is only one (long) flight up so just walk up if you don't have the right change. To reach from the train station take the R2 bus to Piazza del Plebiscito and walk up Via Toledo for a few blocks; hotel is on the right. There is no sign as such, look for the name Principe Napolit'amo on the doorbell directory. Don't believe those who tell you Naples is scary and dangerous. All you need are reasonable street smarts and stay away from the area around the train station which is pretty seedy. This is an amazing city and refreshingly free of the tourist hordes, though the bus tours at the Archeological Museum can be a bit much.

It is difficult to find the hotel in the street, there is a lack of signalisation but the hotel is good, my room was spacious, clean, quiet. The breakfast is a little poor, more coffee or tea and an orange juice would be appreciate.

Hotel was very difficult to find. Building was undergoing some type of renovation and hotel sign was not visible. Number was impossible to see in the dark. Taxi drivers did not know where hotel was. We were dropped off on the right street but we had to walk up and down trying to find hotel. Staff was polite but not overly helpful. Wanted to go to Pompeii and they basically said go to train statin and take a bus. Didn't know if there were any orgainzed tour groups that regularly go to Pompeii/Vesuvius. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Amenities were as advertised. Overall would recommend.

Our room was plain but large, clean and well soundproofed from the the street outside which is very busy. All the staff were very helpful with good advice for buses, trains etc. Breakfast is basic - a coffee and croissant in the cafe downstairs - but it's a pleasantly humming place to jostle with the locals. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Piazza Municipio (the ferry port) which is where the Alibus from the airport terminates. We found some good value restaurants in the side streets opposite the hotel - 'Pizze e Baba' being our favourite. Naples is certainly hectic but we had a great, trouble-free trip and would happily stay at Napolit'amo again.

A fabulous B&B off a main street in Naples in a splendid, secure courtyard with a fabulous cafe/bakery for breakfast below it.I cannot think of a nicer place to stay at such a good price. The rooms are big and although the street below is noisy - the windows and shutters keep it quiet if necessary - but, the balconies are great for people watching.the receptionists are friendly , there are sofas in the foyer, with a coffee machine, vending machine and fridge - I recommend taking a kettle if you need a quick caffeine fix as you get up.The surrounding area is busy, there are some lovely pizzerias, bars, bakeries around as well as some fabulous piazzas and beautiful architecture. There is a funicular station nearby and you can go up to the Vomero with fab views of Naples. The bay is only five minutes walk up the road past loads of interesting sights... just watch out for all that traffic... it's wild!

A great place...once you've found it. The directions are hopeless and on the front door the word 'hotel' is conpicuous by its absence. Also all over the Venere site it says that when you give your credit card details it is for booking confirmation only - however the hotel had charged the first night to my card without asking and I had wanted to pay in cash. It wasn't a great problem for me but it really shouldn't happen when it is made clear that it won't. However it's a lovely little hotel and I echo the earlier comments about finding it and also the cool breakfast arrangements!

Basic hotel, but very spacious rooms, tall ceilings, large windows (although we couldn't see out of our window due to renovations on the outside of the building). Air conditioning. Very nice, clean bathroom, with a shower that drains well and doesn't leak (for once in Italy). Breakfast free at little place next door--a pastry and something to drink. The hotel was a little hard to find. Once we found the street number, this leads into a courtyard, went up stairs to next level, found a TINY sign (2x3 inches?) next to a door--had to ring the buzzer to be buzzed in. The staff is very friendly. If you are planning a day trip to Pompei, buy the unito tre ticket for the bus and train, great deal (ask the receptionist at the hotel). Overall, this hotel is a real bargain find. Very good, clean room for the inexpensive price. Also, the hotel has FREE internet. There are also good restaurants nearby. We would stay here again.

Great location, just off Via Toleda, the main shopping street. The hotel is quite basic but very spacious and great value for a short stay in Naples. Breakfast is just a croissant and a coffee from a cafe next door, but this is a very small disappointment. I would recommend this hotel for it's location and value.

Hotel is ok. The upside is the location - it is near several several attractions and it is easy to reach. The downside is the fact they charge the 1st night on the credit card you used in Venere to do the booking.

This is a very decent budget hotel. It's location is great, in a very bustling shopping area of Naples. Close to the water and accessible on foot to many good restaurants and shopping. The hotel is very basic without much amenities. If you are on a tight budget and would just like a clean room and bed to sleep in, this place is great. To view over the street was wonderful. Watching the great vibe as the crowded street below filled with people.

Spent 3 nights there. Via Toledo is really lively, right in the heart of the city, but the Napolit'amo is quiet, on the 1st floor in a courtyard back from the street. (Take bus R2 from the station to Municipio - tickets from tobacconists price 1 euro). Staff very friendly and helpful. Room cleaned daily and clean towels provided. Breakfast consists of a coffee and delicious freshly baked croissant at the cafe next door, standing up at the counter with the locals. Internet access for guests. Good restaurants and pizzerias nearby - and great ice-cream shop. We loved Naples - just don't try to drive!
