The hotel location in Naples is good,in the city centre, walking distance to almost anything, poor breakfast, good coffee, very big and clean room, but not enought dotated. We were in Naples for 7 days to see Ischia , Capri,Herculanum , the Amalfi coast and Napoli. It was an ideal location for these day trips.

Convenient distance to the railway station and the historical centre. Staff friendly and helpful. Neighbourhood lively in the evening but safe. Room was clean. Fridge,AC and shower worked perfectly. Cold beer in the small store nearby till late night. Nothing more needed.

Being Naples, its all about the location, and this is away from the rougher areas around the train station yet still in the thick of things and easily walkable to the old town and the shopping streets and sea front. Hotel was more like a hotel than a guesthouse so great value and great service were apparent. had a lovely front room with balconies and street views.

We loved our visit to Albergo Del Golfo. We were in Naples for a few days to see Vesuvius, Pompeii, the Amalfi coast and the beaches. It was an ideal location for these day trips. The decor of the hotel was nice and updated, beautiful marble tile floors and spacious bathroom. The towels were big and fluffy, hard to find in Italy. The staff was helpful to us in finding our way around the neighborhood and the ladies kept the place spotless.

Don't go to this hotel. I read some review from this hotel before going, but I just ignored them. Don't do that too, please! The hotel surroundings are VERY bad, even for somebody like me, who is used to very poor/dangerous cities. Travelling to Napoli can be a very nice experience if you choose the right spot to stay. The area close to the hotel is very bad and makes you want to stay in your room after the sun is gone.

It seemed the location was a lot better (and safer) than hotels we saw on the way from the train station. We didn't feel threaten when walking back in the dark after dinner. Hotel itself is fairly average but clean, the hotel staff didn't speak a lot of English and weren't that forthcoming when trying to understand our attempts at Italian. Also, in comparison to others we meet in the service industry, they weren't bothered about referring us to places to eat etc. Breakfast was ok - the coffee certainly makes it worth getting up for!

The staff has limited English but you can get by. The location is excellent for visiting Naples and nearby sites such as Pompei and Capri and is a short bus ride from the main train station and close to ferry docks and out of town bus stops. The maid accidentally sent my facecloth to the laundry and it wouldn't be back before i checked out. When I went to checkout the hotel had bought me a very nice terry cloth bathrobe as compensation which probably cost them 5 times what the facecloth did and which i refused but does indicate that they do care. I would recommend this hotel for anybody looking for a reasonably priced hotel for a to visit Naples and the surrounding area.

Not so well known hotel, and Taxi driver had difficulties finding it. Tt was cold and rainy in Napoli and the (brand-new) room was very well heated. No view from the window, but because of the heavy rain, it was not a problem. Internet service is offered. However, not in a corner with PC and some privacy to read your e-mails, as it was only only possible at the front desk using the only PC of the reception, where they make the reservations...... and between two bookings...

Very nice hotel, newly rennovated, very clean, large rooms (even by american standards). Hotel is located in an "alley". Not very nice surrounings, however, Piazza Bovio is only 1 block away. This hotel had been undergoing a long renovation when I booked it. It's in an alley near the university just off the main street. Our room was just being finished when we checked in and in fact they had to come and put finishing touches on after we checked in. They put us in a triple room on the 3rd floor over the entrance. The room was fabulous! Breakfast is served on a beautiful roof terrace, very well appointed. I cannot say enough good things about this place! My only comment would be to have someone working the desk that speaks some English and an English tv channel for news.

This one is difficult to review as Naples itself was very dirty and in fact, quite frightening. The hotel was in a particularly seedy part of the city but once we walked through the front doors we were in another world. It was beautifully renovated with loads of marble all around. Our rooms (3 singles) were all different and all big and beautiful, complete with air con. Breakfast left a lot to be desired - nothing much to choose from but at 60 Euros per room per night, we certainly weren't complaing. Staff were a bit offhand and not very helpful or welcoming but the beautiful suroundings made it more than worthwhile. I would certainly stay there again if ever I went back to Naples which I doubt I ever will as I didn't like the city.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were nice enough but I can speak Italian, if you don't you may struggle. Station is only 20 minutes walk away. You are at the bottom end of the 'Centro Storico' and also close to the castles in the bay, so location was a bonus. There are a couple of alternative live music bars on the same street as the hotel (invisible during the day but the street is full of their customers by night). Hotel was very good value for money and an ideal base for exploring Naples.

The Hotel is on the edge of Naples city centre which makes it convenient for eating places and visiting the tourist attractions but far enough away from the noisy and busy parts of town. Rooms are comfortable, clean, big, and well furnished. Breakfast was good, fresh, nicely served and plenty of it. Eating on the terrace in November great fun for people from the north!

A good location as we could walk to the harbour the railway station and the museum, also we did not feel intimitated returning late at night. The hotel was newly renovated and it was properly done. It is very nice. The little terrace for the breakfast area was so nice. The only thing is the personal, except one, didn't speak any English. It was hard to get any information from them. Also, in the website, it was mentioned (from what I remember) that the beach was 3 minutes away. The one in Napoli (rock beach) is really about 15 minutes away by foot and the sand beach is in Sorrento. Besides that, I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in the historical center, close to the harbour (5 minutes on foot, 10 with a heavy suitcase), in a safe area of Naples (if there is such a thing...!). Just kidding, of course. Still, it's far enough from the railway station and Garibaldi square (meeting place of the junkies at night), so that one can come back late at night without fear. Rooms are extremely simple (there was nothing my restless toddler could destroy). It's not the best place to spend time inside but it's perfect for resting after long visits to the city: as it is near a busy circus, but just behind the large street, it is centrally located and still quiet (except for some contstruction work in a nearby building, but that is temporary). Very nice breakfast terrace. Wonderful staff, very open and communicative, ready to help with everything, including indications/reservations of budget restaurants.

Albergo del Golfo in the heart of Naples' Vecchia Città (old city) is a great place to get to know and discover Naples! It is a modern and recently renovated hotel that even offers a good breakfast (a bit unusual in Italy!). Accommodations are all great, the rooms are spacious and equipped with air conditioning and the bathroom is brandnew. The hotel is centrally located which means you can visit lots of places on foot (Vecchia Città, Naples harbour from where you can take the boat to one of the islands, St. Lucia,...). We enjoyed our stay at Albergo del Golfo a lot and can recommend it to anyone!

Sorry but it's easier for me to write in french.

Our room was large and beautiful, unfortunately it wasn't finished. The hotel is still undergoing renovations and we had wires sticking out of the wall and ceiling for fixtures that weren't in yet. The bathroom had no toilet paper holder, soap dish, or shower door. The floor would get soaked whenever you showered. The site says multilingual staff, but English isn't one of their languages. I knew at least enough to get checked in. Would have been nice to have been told about breakfast, fortunately I asked the next morning and found out. There was tremendous noise from the renovation when we first arrived, but they were considerate enough to not start early in the morning. When finished this place will be great, although the neighborhood is typical Naples and doesn't look the best.

Externally the hotel looks like much of Naples - not very inviting. But internally it is great value fro money. The owners are in the course of refurbishment and the room we had was excellent. Clean spacious and contempory. It and the bathroom were far larger than is normally the case for hotels of this standard. The only minor criticism is the breakfast room is small with only 3 tables. This may be of reduced size whilst the refurbishment is being carried out but it could be a problem at busy times

Excellent hotel. Clean, spacious and comfortable bed and rooms. The room was so nice that we opted to go back to the hotel every day between 2-4pm to hide away from the sun rather than going to a coffeebar. Location was great, very close to sightseeing areas and supermarkets nearby. I really enjoyed the area of the hotel, very local, very non-touristic. This place is a real find. I have seen worse rooms for twice the price in Naples. The only drawback is the dirty street(but then again, it is no the only one in the city) The hotel itself is newly renovated and spotless. Staff does not speak a word of English, so get your Italian polished:)

Hotel location is excellent. Located within walking distance of several good restaurants and close to attractions, it was a good base for a stay in Naples and surronding area. COnvientetly located near tour pick up hotel eliminating the need to walk to the the train station. Still in the process of being renovated. Good size rooms, but showers are very small. Large people will have a problem entering and working with the tiny confines. Breakfast was adequate to get the day started. Area surronding seemed to be residential and a little intimidating at first but after the first outing it was found to be safe. Cool temps did not require use of AC causing street noise to be plentiful. Staffed 24/7 is helpful. Price -v- quality is in line. Would definetly stay there again.

I'm afraid I would not recommend this hotel. While it is clean and the rooms we had were adequate, it is located in an alleyway off a side street with a very unattractive sign. They were in the middle of renovations while we were there. The man at the front desk had absolutely no english, but luckily we met another guest who translated. We needed two wake up calls for us and for my parents. We were leaving Naples at 6.30 a.m. Luckily for us the bed was so hard and so uncomfortable we didn't really sleep, and the hotel was so noisy (doors closing to rooms echoed throughout) it kept us awake, so we got up ourselves without the need for the wake up call that we never got. We had to wake up the night porter who was asleep on the floor in the little breakfast area. The only good thing was the room was spacious and we were next door to my parents and both rooms opened out to a terrace...very nice, but no tables or chairs to sit at! Don't stay here - look for something else.

Our general impression of the hotel and it's location was very good. We would always consider it should we come back to Naples. Our only thoughts were that it would have been nice to have had a greater choice of breakfast (some cereals perhaps) and tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. If we were being really picky then perhaps somewhere to hang your towels in the bathrooms. I hope you view these comments as constructive. Thanks again for a nice stay.

Very nice hotel - newly renovated - in a good location next to all places of interest in the city of Naples. It was not hard to find as it is located directly behind the chamber of commerce (Banca di Roma), which is easy to reach by public transportation. The only small difficulty that existed was that the staff did not speak much English. But everything worked out fine with some gestures and a mixture of Italian and English. Though it is not one of the cheapest locations it is one of the better ones in the mid-budget class and a small breakfast was included. We would stay there again.

Still finishing construction - not quite at 100% yet, but still, the rooms are decent and at a good price for this part of the city. Good proximity to alot of what you need to see in Napoli...and some good restaurants nearby. The downside - the neighborhood area isn't the best, in fact, when you see the sign, the entrance is actually in the alley, which was being used by a mechanic working on a car when we got there. Some might think its dangerous at night, but its really not - looks are deceiving here. Also, you should know some italian - not much English spoken here. But in the day, there are some shops open, with very cheap goods.

I have been at the Albergo del Golfo twice and I will return there again. The rooms are good and the service welcoming. Although the small street where it is located is not beautiful, ii is only 5 minutes walking from some of the most beautiful areas of Naples. The hotel is only few meters away from the universities L'Orientale and Federico II.

As the breakfast hall is still under construction there were only poor facilities for breakfast. I personally don't like TV for breakfast.

Clean and friendly hotel, in the university area. Very close to many touristic attractions. Compare favourably with other hotels in the same price range I have tried in Naples.

super gelegen, recht ruhig für Neapel; teilweise unfreundliches Personal wie überall in der Stadt; frisch renoviert; Preis im Vergleich gut.

Hi, they are still renovating the 3rd floor and we got a room with 2 single beds first. As soon as we were moved to the 4th floor, the room was really better and everything was really greate and we had a greate stay. They don't speak English at all but is it really necessary ? It's charming to learn Italian in 1 week isn't it ?

It has been an excellent choice: centrally located, though not in the neighbourhood of the railway station (which it is, as a matter of fact, an advantage). It has been very recently "rebuilt", so the room was really "brand new"

though the rooms are OK, there is a troubling smell of "air control" artificial fragrances everywhere: in the room, in the breakfast area, etc: this is a real minus

Arriving at the Via Sedile di Porto we needed some time to find the hotel because there is only one sign at the 3rd Floor which indicates the hotel. When we found the sign we got the next problem to find the entrance. After asking several people on the street we understood that the entrance is on the side of the hotel in the little Vicole Sedile di Porto which we noticed as a gateway to the neighbor's house. However, luckily we found the entrance ( in a typical Naples historic center street - means small, busy, dirty ) and were surprised of the clean and good impression the hotel makes from inside. The room ( o.k., we got one of the biggest of the hotel ) was more spacious an italian hotelroom ever was in this range ( prices ). Also the furniscing was o.k., the room was clean and concerning the site very quiet ( 4th floor ). It seemed only two floors of the hotel where in use, the other rooms got renovated so I think the whole hotel is in a good state. The breakfast was even for italian standards simple and unsophisticated but ne´ver mind, you don't go to italy to have great breakfast ( I never found such in italian economy hotels ). Summarized I'd take the hotel also for another stay in Naples if the prices won't rise.

The location is pretty good for those who rely on public transport. Definitely much better than those around P Garibaldi. Room was not done when I entered it, but it only took them less than 25 minutes to have it clean and made. As I am only slightly built, I don't really mind the size of my single room.

The hotel seems sketchy on first arrival but it's a half block from a major street and there's enough bustle in the evening not to worry about crime. You can walk to via Toledo and are in the Centro Historico. Frankly, I think I'd stay near Chiaia next time or perhaps avoid the city altogether.

Rooms are immense, clean and beautiful, modern and the elevator is titanic to European standards. Don't let the surroundings scare you, the location is great, and typically Neopolitan.

Nice new hotel in a great location for Naples' old town, the opera district and only 15 mins walk to the main train station. Spacious rooms and very clean, with very friendly staff.

Hotel is located on top two stories of the building with less than a year newly-renovated rooms. The location of the hotel is convenient in the downtown area and within walking distance of museum, shopping and ferries. Naples is very noisy city, but if you are lucky and get the room with windows to the internal garden, you can even sleep with open windows. Quite satisfying international breakfast is served early morning on the 3rd floor. We had a very good stay at this hotel. Thanks!

Very good quality. The hotel is new, and rooms are big, safe, clean. You are in the historic center of Napoli, and you can do everything without taking any means of transport. Really great

The zone is very derelict. We were given a very small room with a single bed, though being a couple. After complaining, we got another room, in which we couldn´t have a decent shower because of problems in the draining system.
