Excellent value for money

Rooms modest but clean and adequate. Very convenient position between railway station and top tourist attractions. Impossible (almost) to get there by car and clear directions would have been helpful. Good, secure parking in San Sebastian centre 5 minutes walk.

Very small slow lift.Internet charges a rip off.Very convenient with good cafe bar next door.Tram stops right outside.Staff pleasant enough.Breakfast tipical but OK.

El tranvía pasa al lado del hotel y produce mucho ruido; la doble ventana es ineficaz cuando hace calor (ese fue nuestro caso). El mal aislamiento permite oír también los movimientos en las habitaciones vecinas y en el corredor. Las escaleras y el ascensor del hotel presentan un estado lamentable, parecen desatendidos durante años. La atención por parte del personal fue correcta, la mínima necesaria. La situación del hotel es buena, muy cerca de la estación de trenes y de los monumentos principales. Estuvimos una sola noche en este hotel y la mala impresión recibida en él creo que afectó a nuestra percepción general de Nancy. El Hotel Americain fue el peor de su categoría en todo nuestro viaje por el este de Francia. Es un establecimiento que nos decepcionó y que no recomendamos a nadie.

Excellent price/quality ratio. I think it is a good choice, given the price of hotels around.

The staff were not as friendly as we had found in other hotels booked on our trip. The location of the hotel was very convenient to the railway station and good shopping. The room was very noisy as our room faced the street which was very busy.

Unbeleaveble that michelin is adverting such room ! we met only at breackfeast and the service was just not rude !never again

The photo shows only the upper floors, not the unattractive entryway. The saving grace is the Taverne next door - friendly with good food. There was no help with luggage, there was no parking (although advertized)and little help finding a place; the area is a pietonne so we couldn't even bring our car right up to the hotel. But Nancy itself is wonderful; we were bowled over by Place Stanislaus.

This was a great hotel for the price. It's not a luxury hotel, but for a budget hotel, it was outstanding, much better than the fleabag I paid twice as much for the night before in Brussels (which may have made me appreciate this hotel more than I might have otherwise). If you want a clean, friendly, safe place to stay, I'd recommend it. My room was clean, with a good bathroom (hot water, good water pressure in shower), clean and well furnished. The location was superb, just a few minutes walk from the train station, but in a lively square in the city center, across from "Printemps" department store. We could walk everywhere from our hotel. Breakfast was good, and the front desk was open and available, with friendly and informative people, 24 hours a day. What else can you ask for?

Nice Hotel ideally located near the train station and main shopping area. Entry is small and can be missed if not paying attention.

Got off to a bad start when the reservation process hadn't worked. Luckily the hotel had spare rooms. I don't like hotel beds with plastic undersheets, so wouldn't stay there again. Nice place, location, and quiet for a city centre.

The lobby is small and was under repair. The staff was OK. The chambermaid was very efficient. There was no internet free or otherwise.The room furnishing was strict minimum and had a large glass door to the balcony. The location is central to everything but is located on a pedestrian only street. It means no close parking and necessitate walking a few hundred feet to the nearest underground parking.

Something of a disappointment. Rather run down and scruffy, though convenient for the centre. Not up to the standard of other hotels we have booked via Venere.

Hotel uses 2 adresses in email contact, is therefore difficult to find when arriving by car (lies in pedestrian area), rooms without airconditioning so very hot on hot summerdays, noisy trolley-tram passes in front of hotel, nice location in city-centre

Location is excellent, but the neighborhood is scary when it gets dark. Lots of shops around . A few steps from the Main train station. Whe had a room with 4 singles beds for the three of us and no much room for any thing else. I hated the bathroom with only a small shower ?
