The room is small and simple, but sufficient. I got positive impression. However, radio wave condition for wireless internet connection of my room was very bad. I couldn't connect in my room. My colleague who stayed at different room said no problem. So, it may be depend on the room location.

It's an ugly and old hotel, which really would need a full renovation. I was there two times on a tour across Germany. I was in a lot of German cities and it was by far the worst hotel I unfortunately ran into, although the most expensive. I drove there by car and chose it because it had a garage and was close to the city center, but found an ugly smelly garage with very narrow spaces for the cars, from which the rooms could be reached by a dirty, stuffy lift, full of stains. Both times I took the room with the cheaper price proposed online. The first time they gave me room 110. No air conditioned (with temperature of 30°C!!), very poor and worn-out furniture, bath and shower. The bath extractor fan was communicating with the one of the next room, so when people of next room used its bath it was as they were in yours! Surely less than 3 star a room! The second and last time they gave me room 207 and it was undescribable because of its dirt and ugliness. It was full of stains, the shower half working, the paper handkerchiefs not changed, the next-room nieghbours noisy. Surely it was by far less then 2 star a room! The hotel is placed near train station, which is not a quiet and pleasant area in Munich. I was waken up in the heart of the night by drunk people shouting and swearing on the street. Hotel employees were nice but the breafast not as much. It was by far the poorest one I found during my travel in Germany. The only asset I can find for that hotel is that you can go downtown on foot in some minutes, but anyway there's plenty of hotels in the surroundings. Summing up, I really do not recommend that hotel.

Breakfast Buffet was great, staff were very nice and friendly. Room was horrible, smoky, TV didn't work, very spartan, a little run down. Billed as a "4 Star" hotel, about 2 stars too many. Sorry, won't be back.

The hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly and efficient. The only problems that we encountered were that the two lifts were very small and you could only really fit two people and two cases aboard so waiting for an empty one was annoying - we wound up carrying ours down 3 flights of stairs. Also the bed linen was a little grubby on the first night and the room was very stiflingly hot at night. In July though you can't really be surprised but it did make it hard to sleep! Otherwise this was an excellent hotel choice and we would stay there again.

The Regent Hotel was the last hotel that we stayed at in a three week holiday to Germany, Austria and Italy. We only stayed at the Regent for one night , but it was the nicest hotel we stayed at on our trip. The staff were nice and spoke in English. The location is across the street from the train station which was great for us as we came in from Milan on the train and the next morning we had to leave to the airport. The public areas are beautiful and clean. Our room was really nice and clean with very comfort beds. The breakfast that they served in the morning was fantastic. Relationship between price and quality is a 10. We would stay there again. The only thing that surprised us was they wanted us to check in between 2:00pm and 6:00 pm. We had a train delay at Verona of an hour and just made the 6:00 pm check in time.

Let us start with the good part, the best thing about the hotel is it's proximity to the bahnof and the central plaza. The hotel is very centrally located. But the service in the hotel is awful. Besides the fact in the booking we mentioned we will be checking in early, there were no rooms available and a fat and rude lady spoke to us. Well for the service everything we asked for, we were asked to go to the reception and collect it. The hotel is definitely not a 4 star, it is a bed and breakfast standard. There are no bathing robs, slippers, moisturizers, shower caps....nothing provided. The breakfast was alright, pretty much the same menu everyday. Although the hotel is centrally located but that area looked quite shady to me! I would never stay in the hotel again. The staff is absolutely not welcoming instead rude. There are no doble beds in the hotel too! They join two singles! Cheers

The hotel was exactly what I wanted for stay in Munich. The price was right and they served a nice breakfast and it was in walking distance of the center of town. For sightseers, I would recommend crossing the street to the train station and purchasing a map of the city. That will get you up and running.

We stayed in Regent hotel, Munich 21-24th of November 2007. We booked a suite, price 119 euro / night with breakfast included. The room was spacious with comfortable and clean beds. But no extras as you expect from a 4 star hotel. Minus: Maintenance of the room. A window frame was broken! Teared furniture, some with spots. Plus: The hotel breakfast and the location. It is only a few steps from the central station and the underground station. City centre and the old town are within walking distance.

No air conditioning in a 4-star hotel? And because of street noise you can't keep the windows open! Clean but very outdated rooms and general areas, the whole thing needs serious renovation. Not on par with modern 4-star hotels. Breakfast was good, though. Conveniently located.

The hotel was probabaly an excellent four star hotel when it was new, but to keep the rating even though no improvements had been made for decades made the overall impression disappointing. We would rather have payed the same for a great three-star than thinking we had made a bargain on a four-star that in the end was like a low-line three star.

We had a spacious suite that was very comfortable except for lack of air conditioning. We had to open windows to the street across from the train station and that was noisy. The hotel definitely worth the extra 15 euros that separate it from the average 2.5 star hotels. for just 75 euros you get a real 4 star hotel, in a great location, just across the road from the central railway station and 5 minutes walk from the old city.

I had no problem with the visa "machine", My visa card was accepted. The breakfeast was great, but to few tables for the number of pple eating, I had my bf at 9:00 - 9:30 am, and each time (3 mornings) I had to share my table with someone else's, but not a real problem in it self. Maybe at 8:00 it is less crowded. However, my room was very noisy due to the busy street just under it. It was on the 4th floor and the noise was too loud... the first night I woke up at least 4 or 5 time because of the noise... even at 3:30 am! If you are lucky, try to get a room not directly over the main street. Overall, it was good. 3.5/5

Rooms could use some redecoration, carpet was not very clean anymore. We had a room adjacent to the main railway station. With the windows closed we did not hear any noise from the trains (well isolated), however when opening the windows we could exactly hear which train was departing from which platform. We would recommend the hotel for the less warm periods of the year since the room did not have airconditioning. However the Augustiner Biergarten just a few blocks away is very nice in the summer. One of our friends stayed in a single person room which was quite small. Hotel is not too far from the city centre and has good parking facilities (garage).

Considering we reserved only two day before and it was right in the middle of Octoberfest. The price was really reasonable. It's near the traing station but that's about it. A 10-15 minute walk to Octoberfest. They have their own private garage, so didn't have to worry about parking. Kinda warm without A/C, and really couldn't open the windows due to the non-stop traffic, trains, and construction. Don't stay there if you want quiteness. But overall, not a bad hotel for the price.

It is definately right across the street from the rail station. Though it does make for great access, if you want to keep your room cool (no air conditioning) you must open your windows and let in the noise as well. It didn't bother me too much, but the lighter sleepers in the family complained. It is also about a 20 minute walk to the Marienplatz area (the pedestrian zone).

We were disappointed with this hotel. We had confirmed a Double Room booking on Venere but when we arrived we were given a twin room. The hotel said that it could not give us a double room as they had all been otherwise booked and they implied that if we had booked directly with the hotel instead of with Venere they would have given us a double room. The twin room was small and unclean. It needed to be totally revamped with new carpets and new paintwork. There were dirty marks on the wall - mainly the contents of peoples noses. There were insects in or around the beds and my girlfriend got lots of bites during the night in that room. Next morning we insisted on a double room and were then accommodated with one.

This hotel was not what we expected. It was not in a good part of town (I should have suspected this as it is so close to the train station, but the web description made me think it was an ok area). The hotel seemed more for traveling businessmen, not tourists who want to enjoy Munich. We only stayed one night, and cancelled the next two nights and moved elsewhere.

This hotel is very outdated in the common areas but the room was ok. The location is central, which was a major strength. It is right next to the train station (the venere map is off by one block). They did not seem well stocked for a major hotel (no extra pillow - claimed they were out of pillows). One of the front desk employees was very helpful with directions in the city, I was impressed with his knowledge of the streets and he directed me on several complex cross town car journeys. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, a run down hotel in a good location at a competitive price (esp. considering the breakfast).

The hotel is within one block of the main train station, and within close proximity to a number of inexpensive, but excellent, Bavarian restaurants (which you will most probably want to use as the hotel's restaurant and bar did not appear to be up to the ohter standards of the hotel).
