It was the first time I stayed in Hotel Wallis. The price, Euro405 for 2 nites, is surely too high for such a small room in a small scale hotel. Yet, I understood it was the peak season for Oktoberfest and every hotel took the chance to earn money. So, if it is in normal season, the price is reasonable. Other than the price, in fact, the hotel can meet my expectation as it's location is very close to the Oktoberfest's venue and most of the tourist spots. We can go to most of the spots on foot to save traveling cost. The breakfast that most people admired was really great. They provided many kinds of fresh fruits, salad and drinks. I was suprised to have strimps which I couldn't find else where. For my room, it's on high floor facing the inner garbage. It's very quiet and safe. The staff there were very helpful. Yet, the surrounding sex shops, casino and night club were not my favor.

Room facing a very busy street with a cinema just opposite, very noisy. Also very hard to keep temperature down as there was no airconditioner in the room.

The hotel is very close to the main train station and within a ten-minute walk from the city centre. The street of the hotel is not that nice (there are many night clubs and and casinos and sex shops) nor quiet (you'd better try to ask for a upper floor room. Good breakfast is served.

We had a nice stay at the hotel. The best thing is the location close to main pedestrian street and Marienplatz, also to the train station. On the outside the hotel is not so pretty but once inside its OK. Breakfast is excellent and even thought the room was not big for a triple, it had everything as described. My mother was satying at a close 4 star hotel, and there wasn't much diference except she had free internet and air conditioner, but our breakfast was better.

The hotel is near to the main train station and to the most important tourist points of the city. The staff from the reception desk is very sympathetic. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in Germany. The only drawback (that, actually, was not very significant for us but can be for some) is the proximity to some porn cinemas, casinos and sex-shops.

The hotel Wallis is a very good value. Not luxurios, but clean and comfortable. It is within two blocks of a subway station and the tram stops, making getting around the city very easy. The hotel caters to tourists and traveling business men. They offer one of the best and most complete breakfast buffets we have seen.

Our arrival was a little bit confusing. The address they gave us was not corresponding to the hotel. So we actually stayed in Praesident Hotel because I guess they were booked. Anyways, is was good size and service. GReat Buffet!! A few blocks from Hofbrahous and pay parking close to the hotel.

Stayed at Hotel Wallis for one night in April, when I first saw the street where the hotel is situated I thought I had made a huge mistake it looked worse than I had expected. However the hotel is much better on the inside, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, the room looked recently renovated and was clean, warm and quiet even though it overlooked the busy street outside. There was also a fan and a flat screen tv. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast, there was a huge choice of cereal, bread, fresh fruit including strawberries, grapes, melon, pineapple, tomatoes, also cheese, scrambled eggs and much more. I would highly reccomend this hotel even though the street does not look very nice it seems to be perfectly safe.

I went to Hotel Wallis with 3 other friends. We had rooms next to each other which was a plus. The rooms are clean and basic, just what we needed. The free breakfast is a good way to start your day too. The location is very good right near the town centre, although quite near the other side of Munich (strip clubs etc) which didn't bother us at all! I was very impressed and satisfied with my stay here and would recommend it to travellers and a group of lads like us, probably not the best for romantic couples.

We stayed in a triple room which was somewhat small, especially compared to the other hotels we stayed at on this trip. The breakfast (included in price) was great – a wide selection of items. We should have asked for a non-smoking room – ours had a lingering smell of smoke when we first arrived. High-speed wireless internet was available - but not free. The bathroom was a little tight – but spotless. The location was very convenient – close to the train station, subway and street car lines – also within walking distance of most major sightseeing attractions. The Karlstor gate is within a 5 minute walk and Marienplatz is about a 10 minute walk. In general, we were very pleased with our stay.

We had reserved 3 double rooms. Upon our arrival we were told to go "down the street" to the Presidant Hotel. We went there and it was very hot. We requested a fan(no AC). The clerk said that we would have to wait as he was busy. When asked if he was the only one in the hotel who could help he said yes. We finally got opur fans by my standing at the desk until he got sick of me and got the fans. The lady on the desk the next day was delightful. She was of much help.

We were actually sent down the street to the Hotel Prasident because Wallis had no rooms, so this review is for Prasident. Mostly it was pretty nice. The balcony actually connected to the room next door so with the window open (they had no air conditioning and no screens) the next door neighbors had access to our room. Fortunately, they were with us.

So called family room was very, very small. It was Ok to stay for one night, but if you need to open your luggage there was no space to do that. Corridors and elevator also small as well the reception area. Brakfast room also quite small. But breakfast itself and service was good!

We had an initial problem, that was solved excellently. The hotel staff claimed not to have the reservation recorded, even if I had the Venere's confirmation. Really, I did not get any e-mail from Venere for this reservation, but I could get a PDF file from the consultation of my reservations in Venere web. Anyway, an excellent triple room (as reserved) in the 7th floor, with a balcony, was made available to us. Location is excellent, just 1 minute walk from the inner ring, and quite close of Marienplatz and other innerstadt attractions. The street itself is somehow tricky (some sexy spots in it), but they did not disturb us at all. Garage in the hotel was fully booked, but a very much convenient parking (10€ a day) was provided in the near Cristal parking (only 200m. away, same street). Breakfast buffet was very much convenient, largely enough as to provide energy for the standard day of "daylight" tourists (breakfast at 7am; light lunch at 1-2pm; dinner at 8pm). A recommended spot for a touristic visit to München (either with or w/o car; Hauptbanhof is quite close as well).

Booked at Hotel Wallis but hotel oversold so we were relocated to the Hotel Prasident down the street. I was told by Hotel Wallis staff that the Prasident was newer with superior quality (likely same owners). We booked a triple room - the third bed was a chair that converted into a small bed in a corner. Breakfast was very good, location was ok - a 10 to 15 minute walk to tourist destinations but the street and area the Wallis and Prasident were situated on was busy and certainly not one of Munich's finest.

Good relationship price/quality. Centrally located. However, I did not like very much the road the hotel is located (not really a street you expect to find in the center of an old town, with a lot of clubs and also some sexy bar, which is not the best thing if you are with children). Despite this, the room I had (5th floor) was actually really calm and quiet.

This hotel is a bit dated, in need of an allround upgrading. Breakfast was old and the fruit juice was turning into beer (not up to scratch) but did improve a bit on the second morning. We were very pleased with our 4 nights at Hotel Wallis. The staff were welcoming, the room was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was excellent - the best we had during our 1 month trip to Europe. The location was great. It was a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and very close to all the intersting places in the old town. They even have bicycles to lend the guests at no charge if you want to go a bit further afield. Some of the other reviews have mentioned that the area was a bit seedy being quite near to the train station, but we did not think so. There were one or 2 sex shops but mostly the shops were just cheaper cafes, a supermarket etc and we felt quite safe. We would have absolutely no hesitation in staying there again and will recommend it to any of our friends who go to Munich.
