This is definitely the worst hotel I've ever been in. Service was rude actually. I don't know if the guy in reception was the owner or what, but he really made our stay very uncomfortable. I would never take this kind of dump to my hotel list. Only good thing is the location. We also went to Frankfurt. I really liked Hotel Arosa. Great service, great breakfast, great everything basically.

Bed linen and towels were clean. But the furniture, the walls, the floor, all around were terribly dirty. It was also dirty on the stairs and into the elevator.Wi Fi only works near the reception, but have to sit on the stairs.

We stayed 4 nights in the "hotel". The bathroom was dirty; the floor we walked to the room was dirty. Breakfast was very simple, coffee-pots partly not clean. The man, who was responsible for the breakfast showed us the place, where we could find coffeepot, plate, knife... when we asked for it. I am sure, I will never come back to this hotel and I will not recommend this hotel. The breakfast-room functions as Thai-restaurant during the day.

to avoid, absolutely! it's a 24hours hotel, situated in the area of porno shops and porno theatres. there were men and women going up and down till 3 or 4 in the night, speaking very loudly. one room had no door in the bathroom. the window opened in a common balcony, so you can't keep it open and there was no air continioning

This hotel is not even a hotel. there is not evena proper main door, which gets stuck everytime you try to open it and you are lucky if you hand doesnt get stuck on the glass considering how greasy it is. There is no corner of the room's floor free of stains. In one word..it's a hole, really. with 25 more uero per night behind the corner you can have very good 3 stars hotel!

This place is a dump! It's on a very racy and noisy street, wedged in between two strip joints. The air conditioning didn't work and we had to open the windows onto the street that was loud all night. Maybe we got two hours of sleep. The staff was even worse: smoking and blowing smoke in your face, lazy, and all but hostile. It was close to the train station; that's why I looked to book a hotel. I didn't know I'd be booking it in a sewer! This place needs to lose one if not two stars. It was the worst, dirtiest, noisiest, nastiest hotel I've I've stay in in my adult life. Awful!!!!!!

very close to central train station. The restaurant that provides breakfast is not part of the hotel and refused to provide hot water when asked to. Shopping centers are very close so food and drinks are not a problem. It is also easy to travel to tourist sites by public transportation.

It was a really akward experience, almost ruined our holiday. The receptionist was rude, shouted with us when I asked for the two booked rooms to be on the same stair (I couldn't leave my kids alone) Breakfast was again horror, we waited 30 mintues with 3 children, noone said a kind word or even anything to us (we kindly asked and speak several languages). Chose another hotel, this is not one.

The staff at this hotel were ok, but otherwise it is a shit hole. It is very, very noisy, the breakfast is awful and our room didn't even have a toilet seat. it was like the 1970's only in the third world. do not stay here. EVER!

The bathroom was disgusting. Pubic hairs in the shower and other hairs on the floor under the sink. I made a complaint. They cleaned up the shower but did not clean under the sink or around the outside of the shower. I bought some disinfectant and cleaned it myself. A real disgrace. I certainly would not recommend it as a place to stay.

Good location. Within walking distance from the train station. Free wi-fi from the restaurant next door, if you don't mind sitting on stairs. A bit expensive for small double room, well it's a big city price. I wish I had checked other hotel nearby as well.

The hotel was so low category compared with our expectations based on the internet information, that upon arrival we decided to leave it immediately, still we were told that the whole amount EUR 386 was called from our account, although it was clearly stated in your confirmation that our credit card will not be charged before our arrival. Your action for our compensation will be highly appreciated

Breakfast was supposed to be included in pice but we went down for it 2 minutes after time and they said it was too late. We came back to the hotel at night and they wanted my fiance to pay in cash and what was the worst they wanted him to pay for me extra 25 euros because they thought my fiance brought me from the street! After 2 days staying there they had a mistake in papers that only one person stays in a room. I feel like ...You can pay by credit card but they bother you to pay in cash and create a problem if you want to pay by card. There is Hotel Monaco across the street, same price, much better service and staff. I would definietly go there insdtead H.Modern.

I stayed in a single room with a bathroom. Overall, great room for the price. I stayed facing the street and noise was not an issue at all. Windows pretty thick. Breakfast was fine by me. Hotel staff were great and spoke different languages which helped as my German is a bit rusty. If anything, I think the hotel needs some TLC to update the look, but it is definitely worthwhile. You can't beat the location as everything is within walking distance. Short walk to the train station and a short walk to the main pedestrian zones. Great stores located in front of the train station. Overall, safe and easy to find. Overall it was a pleasant stay and would go back.

This hotel is fine if you're looking for a cheap, no-frills, clean hotel in the centre of Munich. It was probably "modern" at some point in the 1970s but is now definitely showing signs of its age. Although situated in the heart of Munich's redlight district, the street itself is fairly tame and therefore unlikely to shock anyone or make them feel uncomfortable, even late at night. The receptionists were all very friendly, the breakfast room staff all very gruff.

The hotel is very near the train station but the neighborhood is seeedy and run down. The first inpression of the hotel I had was very bad and the public areas and elevator did not do much to improve that impression. The room however was quite nice and very quiet. The breakfast was sparce but adequate. I would not stay at this hotel again since there are serveral relly nice hotles close by unless they were quite a bit more expensive.

The hotel was in a bit of a dodgy area, surrounded by strip clubs and a sports bar. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful, however the breakfast staff in the restaurant were rude and impatient. This hotel is called Hotel Modern, but there is nothing modern about the place at all. The room was old, threadbare carpet, creaky wooden furniture, very uncomfortable single beds pushed together to make a double and not particularly clean. Actually, the bathroom was recently renovated, but they obviously forgot to put half the sliding door on the front. Which of course meant the water splashed all over the room! We told the staff about this and they said they would have a look, but of course nothing happened. It was very noisy, the elevator door banged shut every 10 minutes or so, which reverberated through the hallway and in the room, even people closing their room doors seemed to echo through the entire level. Did we mention how uncomfortable the beds were! The breakfast was ordinary and don't expect friendly service. Also, the Venere site states that internet access is the cost of a local call, this was not correct. For wireless access you needed to be a customer of the restaurant, so it costs what you want to buy from the menu. We ended up using the internet cafe a few doors down, much cheaper! The location was good, about a 5 minute walk from Munich HBF station, the main train station in the city, which made it very easy to get around.

The drain in the shower didn't work and the shower was basically unusable. Repeated requests to fix were ignored. No deadbolt on doors. Glasses dirty and dusty. Extremely small bathroom. Hotel is in the "red light" district. Phone had intermittent service. Would never stay there again.

The door to my room had a broken hinge and they did nothing to repair it or move me to a different room. This place was nothing more than a glorified hostel. Dirt cheap, but still a dump. I'd spend a few extra bucks next time to stay at a place that actually had a fully functioning door.

Very spacious room and a nice staff (someone speaks also italian ;). Poor breakfast in the adiacent asian restaurant, but the hotel is cheap (we payed 60 euros for one night in double) and with money saved you can order another one in in the neighborood. The hotel is really near to railway station and also to karlsplatz where starts the city centre and a long pedestrian road. Definitively this is a great start point for tourists if you want only a place for sleeping.
