Hotel Bristol - Munich
Pettenkoferstr. 2 - Munich
877-662-6988Hotel Bristol is a modern 3 star hotel in Munich with a homely atmosphere and a special aura. The tram and underground are about 10 meters away, making easy access to all tourist attractions.
Specially for exhibitors or fair visitors, this perfect location right in the heart of the bavarian Metropolitan offers direct access to the exhibition centers by the underground. The bustling pedestrian zone is within walking distance with its numerous shops and restaurants.
The hotel has 56 elegantly furnished rooms where you will find a personalised, attentive service, and the typical Bavarian hospitality. Furthermore, you will find, in the charming hall, a coffee corner called nespresso, with a coffee machine and all types of Italian coffee.
It was over 35 degrees in Munich in August and air conditioning would have been very welcome or at the least a fan, as it was noisy on the street below to have a win...

The hotel staff was great. Spoke great english and were very helpful with suggestions to navigate Munich by public transporation. Room was simple and the surroundings were loud late at night as a couple of pubs are near by...that could be good or bad depending on the way you look at it. Prost!

The Hotel met my standards. Cleanliness was ok. Breakfast was nice, too. If you are looking for quietness you have to ask for rooms going to the back-yard. It seems that I had a non-smoking room but unfortunately you still could smell the smoke from previous times through carpets and curtains. Located absolutely central with excellent connection to public traffic and touristic sites.

Great value for the money. Excelent breakfast for a 3-star hotel (very diversified). Very good positioning for a tourist, just near Sendlinger Tor. The room is cleaned every day. If your room faces the street, it's a little bit noisy during the night (but just a little), as there are some clubs near the hotel.

Our first night was in a room over the street, and it was noisy. The remaining nights we were able to change to a room overlooking the courtyard, and it was quiet. A benefit was a tiny balcony where we could dry our handwashing. Location is excellent. Will definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

We stayed in room next to kitchen on front elevation. We were woken every morning at 6.00 am by the noise of breakfasts being prepared. Also on several nights/early mornings disturbed by noise from restaurant/disco next door.Yes windows are double glazed but keeping them shut made room uncomfortably hot at night.Otherwise hotel very comfortable and good value.

It's a small good hotel. Very close to underground and trams - a convenient transportation over the city. 10 minutes walk to Marienplatz. We lived in a double with a bed for child on the 2nd floor. Good value for money. Do not take room at the end of the corridor as the cafe behind the wall may get noisy at late hours.

Position Excellent! Five steps walking to the metro U or to TRAM which connected you directly to the center and especially TRAM 16/ 17 directly to Nymphenberg Palace and to the English Garden.I Have only to mention that the reception area needs some restoration since the first impression you get when entering is that of a small pension . Breakfast excellent for a 3star Hotel. If you need some special quietness prefer floors 3-4-5 sp as to be away from the street. When visitng Munich again I will definitely stay in Bristol Hotel.

Good position in the Station South Area... 30 mt from the subway access and at walking distance from the Central Station (15 minutes) and from AltStadt (10 minutes). Very helpful and competent staff at the reception. Clean and well furnished room. Only a little delay in the bathroom light switching on, but only sometimes. Free wireless internet available in the room. Free internet point at the reception. Rich and various breakfast buffet with fresh marmelades, a lot of bread typologies, yogurt, muesli, croissant, cheese and salami: here very kind and helpful staff too! Very very very good value for money... I stayed two nights in a double room (single use) at the first floor just over Pettenkorferstrasse: no noise at all from the street, because of the good windows. I definitely recommend this hotel!

One of the lady receptionist with curly hair and wide eyes (sorry we forgot to ask her name) was very nice and helpful. Cheap & cheerful hotel located close to a u-bahn station and right outside the pedestrian center of Munich - great location. Room was clean and functional although quarters were tight and there was limited storage space. There was also a small balcony but the plants had apparently been removed from the flower box and there was earth and gravel everywhere - poor attention to detail. Breakfast was good and staff were pleasant and helpful.

I was pleasantly surprised how close this hotel was to the underground station and all other forms of public transit. It's literally steps away from the Sendlinger-Tor station. Also close to the Hauptbahnhof train station, shopping and many sights, great location. The hotel was nice, the breakfast was very good with a variety of items and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I sustained an injury while in Munich and the desk clerk walked me to a doctors office a block away. That was a pleasant surprise! There is a pharmacy across the street from the hotel which was convenient. I would recommend staying at this hotel. If I ever get to go back to Munich I will stay here again.

Very good location, close to train station. Can walk to sites. Breakfast good. Good restaurants near by. Rooms on small side, and ours faced some building where people were outside smoking all of the time in bathrobes. Our toliet overflowed in the early am, which was a bit of a problem with wet floors. Hotel staff were very friendly.

We are a family of four who stayed at the Bristol for two evenings in March of 2009. We had one double room and one room with two twin beds. The rooms were adequate and clean as were the bathrooms and the common areas. The reception staff was accommodating and generally pleasant. The hotel is convenient to Marianplatz which was important to us since we were on vacation. If you are driving and not familiar with the area getting to the hotel could be a challenge. Fortunately we had a GPS that guided us without too much difficulty, the parking garage is small and somewhat difficult to navigate especially if you’re driving and intermediate to full size car. Due to very loud street noise we changed our double room on the second night. The nature of my business necessitated Internet access, which is one of the reasons I chose the Bristol hotel. Internet is slow, bordering on non existent (a speed test indicated 512kbs, considering the hotel advertises Internet connectivity this is bordering on misrepresentation). Breakfast was rather extensive although the servers were not overly accommodating or friendly. If you need access to Marianplatz, are not driving an intermediate to full size car, don’t care about street noise, and Internet connectivity is not important this would probably be a good choice for you.

Hotel has a parking garage, but it's very small and some cars are very badly parked and they use a lot of space. I think the personal should check parking and make it more organised. Otherwise, no problem. I would choose this hotel once more Iif I had to stay in Munich.

Was a great hotel. Front desk staff were great and very helpful. Was in a decent location. Right along one of the main roads into the center of Munich and about a 15 minute walk to the train station (very quick). Ask for the password for the free internet access. The bathroom was the best we had our whole 2 1/2 week vacation around Europe. But noisy. Wow was it noisy. There is a restauarant next door and it sounded like the people were in the room with us. It wasn't even a main street but I woke up a number of times a night by the noise outside.

Perfectly located hotel if you are 'doing' Munich. Within 10 minute walking distance of the city center, but shops all the way so it will take longer. Everyone compliments this hotels breakfast and I am no exception. Christmas day morning breakfast even included smoked salmon and Champagne, a nice unexpected touch. I would definitely stay at the Bristol again.

The hotel is excellently located, both with respect to the city centre (it is in the centre in fact) and to the airport. You take the suburban train from the airport to the city centre (40 minutes), change once to the underground train (one stop), and when you get out of the station, you are less than a hundred metres from the hotel. Remember, though, that going back to the airport, you can only buy train tickets from machines at the station close to the hotel, so you may need som advice from hotel staff about how to go about it. The hotel as such is smallish but very nice. The showers are of the bathtub/curtain type i.e. not very spacious but ok. Breakfast is plentiful and included in the price. The breakfast room is a bit on the small side. Marienplatz - the heart of the city with a wonderful Christmas market in December - is only about 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel. People who are sensitive to street noise might want a room high up in the building, not facing the street; ours was on the first floor facing the street and there were a few sirens passing by, but no big problem as far as we are concerned. If you want a reasonably priced hotel in the central area of Munich, this is it.

The hotel is very conveniently located next to the metro (literally, steps away) but suprisingly, my room, though street-facing, was quiet (maybe the time of year). Hauptbanof & Marienplatz are about 1.0-1.5 mile walk away & photos on website are pretty accurate (though picture of room is slightly more posh-looking than real-life). Staff are friendly, knowledgeable & speak English. Breakfast was great. Comfortable bed. Bathroom smelled slightly of mildew (probably from shower curtain) but otherwise clean. Decent value (89 euros) & roomy for a single. Good booking for one night or as a home-base for day-tripping.

The Bristol was in a great location, conveniently located near a subway stop and a quick walk from Marienplatz and the pedestrian shopping streets. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were reasonable size. The room price was reasonable for what we got prior to Oktoberfest but the rate during Oktoberfest was double and I don't think our room was worth that price (but all hotel rates were increased during the Oktoberfest time...a rip off but you don't have much choice). The breakfast was good, the room it is served in is small. I would recommend the hotel to a friend going to Munich. We stayed in 2 different rooms because we were there at different times...the only unusual thing the second time was a toilet that kept flushing and wouldn't stop...but eventually it would stop after attempting to stop it (weird).

Stayed here Sept. 2008. Room was suitable and clean. Latch on bathroom door was broken and it wouldn't stay shut. We only stayed one night so I can't say how responsive they would have been to repair it. Staff spoke excellent English and was very helpful. Great locataion next to Underground stop and walking distance to city center. As others noted, it's on a busy street and can be noisy at night/morning with the windows open. And with no AC, the windows were open. Kind of expensive at 179 euro/night.

This hotel is located near the metro and the tram station, but if you enjoy walking you can get the center of the city (Marienplatz) in twenty minutes. The most important is that the neighborhood is very better than the surroundings of the train station with its "red light" district. We had a front room and we heard some noise from the street at night. The bathroom was a regular size and the shower was a few unconfortable. The breakfast room was a little small and the breakfast was good, with enough variety of cold and hot meal.

My first time in Munich, first time in this hotel. Three of us took a triple room. The hotel is very conveniently located, right next to train , bus, and tram. But it has no airconditioner, so when you open the windows, you hear noise of people talking from the street right next to it, where there is another hotel across the road with alfresco dinning. And, plenty of bugs, flies came into the room, when windows were opened. The single sofa bed we had broke down in the middle of the night, they were told the next day, and promptly fixed it. I hope they get better bed. We asked to change to the other side of the hotel, to avoid the noise from the street, but they said only the side facing the street has triple rooms. This hotel has great staff, it has an internet terminal downstairs for you to use free of charge. You get internet connection upstairs too. Really great, all free of charge. You get to drink free water at the lobby, and can buy expresso there too. We like the lobby best, so bright and opened. Breakfast is also good. Toilet is also cleaned and modern. Lift is big and good. Munich is a very nice city, and this hotel is a good starting point. Will be perfect if it has airconditioning, otherwise summer time will be a big problem with noise and heat, and bugs and flies.

We stayed at the Bristol for the week preceding and up to our wedding night, and it was wonderful. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, the rooms are a good size, and the breakfast is great. It was a bit hard to find it coming out of the subway since it is on a smallish street, but once there the location is great for vacationers. The price for value is great, too. The only issue we had was with the joined beds sliding apart a few times - they could have been strapped together like some hotels. My father-in-law and brother had single rooms that were also nice and a very good size.

Nice hotel. Room is new and clean. Although size is a little small but at this price you cannot complain. Breakfast comes with various choices. Free internet used with free water at reception area. However, it will be better if there is a free bottle of water in rooms. Bathroom has a bottle of liquid soap/shampoo. There should be a disposable shower cap for women. Pricewise, you should keep on checking the rate. Before I arrived at the hotel one week earlier, the price of room was reduced for 20 Euro per night, so I made a new booking and cancel the previous one. In total, for 3 nights, I saved 60 Euro!!!

All hotel employees were very friendly and helpful, particularly the front desk staff. The breakfast was terrific every morning. Rooms were always spotless. A great value for the money !! And, the location was great!!

We were very pleased with our stay here. We stayed in two different rooms - both were very clean - some of the bathroom fixtures were slighty more updated in one of them, but everything worked well. The breakfast included was excellent - a real added value. There was an assortment of great rolls, breads, cheeses, meat, eggs, juices, cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries. The staff was very friendly - always greeting us wherever we were in the hotel. The location was very convenient - just around the corner from the Sendlinger Tor U-Bahn stop. It was also an easy walk to the city center. We would definitely stay here again.

Apart from the comfort, they have wired/wireless internet connection for free and it really is fast. Very close to metro and walking distance to city center, you can not ask more. (room prices in Munich are above Europe average)

Nice staff, excellent breakfast, free internet access in the room, balcony. Extremely close to the subway station (2 lines) and many tram and bus lines. Allow for reaching any destination conveniently. Also within walking distance of the city centre. Reasonable price for a major city (as of late February). A few drinks available in the room, but no minibar.

I think everyone visiting Munich should stay at this hotel. Upon arrival the front desk was VERY accommedating. It exceeded our expectations and breakfast was hearty and included in room rate. I shall stay at Bristol again.

Had two double rooms for a total of 4 adults. Excellent value, right in the heart of Muenchen. Friendly and very clean. First-class breakfast buffet.

Great location! Near city center and various landmarks. Two churches nearby, which means you get a wake up call from the church bells at 7am (at least on sunday). The breakfast area is not very spacious but the breakfast is good and with choices. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. The only challenge is parking the car in the garage (especially a family car): the ramp is very steep with a sharp curve. Once you make it down, the parking area is tight a difficult to manouver due to support pillars of the building. But you feel like a champion once you have gotten the car in and out of it without a scratch or dent.

Located ideally just across the road (minutes)from the start of the Xmas markets and city centre, also very close to the U-bahn & trams. Staff were very helpful and friendly, excellent English spoken. Breakfast was plentiful, with a wide choice. Free cookies and biscuits on offer at reception was a nice touch. I would suggest that this is a excellent value hotel and would certainly use again.

I came with a freind, we stayed for four nights. The hotel is clean, the breakfeast very satisfying, and the general atmosphere was very pleasant. The location is extremely convenient as the U-bahn station is literally 10 steps away with 4 central lines passing through it.

This hotel is very close from the city center main attractions but in a red light area at night. The rooms are a bit small, but very clean. Pillow unconfortable. Bathroom clean and basic. Excellent breakfast, lots of variety and good quality stuff. Breakfast room a bit small. Staff was helpful, but didn't react too well to complaints.

Venere.com should improve the credit card entry information and also quit saving these details on the computer. Directions to hotel were good.

(Please ignore my scorings as I thought that this was another hotel.- only put this if you have kept the scorings) The Hotel Bristol is an excellent hotel - very helpful staff and lovely rooms. A good bath for enjoying a long soak. The breakfast was very nice - plenty of variety and boiling water for the tea. There is a free Internet PC to use in a booth downstairs. It is very convenient for town and fairly close to the station - a reasonably priced taxi ride for the faint-hearted. The only downside was the bells from the church that is over the road - but closing the windows went some way to reducing the sound. Good value for money. Munich is a nice city with plenty to do and a very pleasant atmosphere.
