When booking our rooms, we did not have the option to choose a smoking or non-smoking room. Unfortunately, one of our rooms was on a smoking floor, and none of us smoked. For non-smokers, the room was a bit smelly. Other than that, we were all very pleased with our stay at Arthotel in Munich. Also, the extended hours for breakfast were greatly appreciated. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

I was on transit through Munich and wanted a room to sleep overnight and nothing else. Excellent location, right next to the train station. Staff extremely polite and very helpful. Thumbs up. Nice breakfast. My only complain is the small rooms (but this is the case in Europe in general.. so I would not like to blame just this hotel for that) and that they are a little old-fashion. The lobby is very modern though. Well... for I 3-star hotel I am very happy. I would definitely stay there again if on transit.

Good hotel, near to the main railway station. The room that we were in was near to a stock room so were awoken early due to clattering and banging. However, there is free wi-fi access and computer access is available in the public areas that are built into the coffee tables. The hotel also supplied free gluwhein and stollen cake for guests. It should be noted that you are unable to charge drinks from the bar to your room.

The staff are all friendly and helpful. Very good location, close to Munich Central Station and shopping area (about 5 min by walk) yet off from the red area (most of other hotels are in this red lamp area which is not good for staying with children). Breakfast buffet is excellent eventhough as muslim I cannot eat most of the served meats but chicken/turkey and beef are also served.

The location is very good as it is near the main train station and walking distance to the Marienplatz. The only downside was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The shower curtain should have been replaced, and the floor in the bathroom wasn't particularly clean. We layed towels down. Outside of the bathroom, it was fine. If you have a car, the garage is very secure.

The hotel has a very good location, near the central station. You have there all kinds of transport to downtown and to the sourrondings of the city. We are a couple with two children ( 8 and 18). At first they gave us a very small room, we asked for a biger one, and one day later they changed us to a huger one, really spacious and quiet. The hotel is clean, and the staff is very kind. Breakfast is abundant and of good quality. If we go back to Munich, I think we will return to this hotel.

I got a room highest floor on the garden view. Under the roof so I cannot take my shower in the bath tub standing (I am 1.84 m). I can assess this room only. I don't know if a room lower floor on the street view would be so quiet. Anyway very nice staff at the reception the bar and in at breakfast, very good breakfast, the location gives an easy access to railway station and subway (5-10 minutes walk).

Stay was brilliant. Location was outstanding (although it seemed like a little further than 200M from the train station exit to the hotel door). Still, the location is perfect and convenient. We felt very safe there. The rooms were immaculately clean and provisioned. Bathrooms were large and clean. Showers were hot and had good water pressure (important to me). This was the only place where I could find a room for three and a room for four at the same facility and it was handled very well--god place if you have a larger travel party. Breakfast was huge and fantastic. Something for everyone--one of the better varieties I have ever seen in Europe. I would definitely stay here again and enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who needs this type of place. It's not fancy, but very nice and more than adequate when you need a place to sleep and rest. Photos are very accurate and fairly represent this property. Sometimes the photos on a hotel website are of the best (i.e. non-representative) rooms and public areas, but they were right on here!

This hotel is a nice clean hotel and very centrally located to Munich Central Station. There are two problems however, the room we got, although was newly renovated was very small. The second problem is that only half of this hotel is updated so when booking, ask for a newly renovated room. Otherwise than those two small issues, it was a nice hotel with friendly staff with good english.

As other travelers have noted, our room did not look like the photos on the website. During our stay, the hotel was renovating our floor - installing new hardwood flooring. However, new furnishings had not yet been installed on the top floors. Further, we were placed in a smoking room - make sure you request a non-smoking room when you book.

- No air condition - Located on a main street with many traffic so you can't open a window at night. See above. - Three and four person room has only the same size as a room for two persons. - Hotel bar offered only beer and coffee - Very expensive parking taxes on the public parking lots / parking houses surround the hotel. Defects: - Paitwork in the public areas - Mini fridge not working - One of the two lights in the bath room not working Postive: - Very good breakfast with a wide choice of products - Near the main shopping promenade reachable by foot - Offers tickets for the local public traffic - Very good price for this town Overall: - A good hotel with a good price for a short trip if you don't need much comfort.

though at one block from the main station, it is on the back, on a quiet street, close to big hotel chains, didn't feel as safe as in the noisy street where most hotels are located. Rooms quite spacious, got one that seemed a jr. suite. thin walls, while walking on the hall I could overheard conversations inside the rooms in the first floor (my room was in higher floors). Very noisy during the day (or at least the back of the hotel faced by my window)so if you plan to take a nap... breakfast was very good, and the price for the room quite convenient.

It is at the tail end of punjabbi district in Munich but only a one block walk back to the culture I enjoy...Munich. Not even an inconvience. Went into one of the Punjabbi shops looking for a convertor, buy one before leaving because they don't believe in bathing?!!?! I stayed in a double room which was big and clean. The breakfast buffet is ok, the choice is not that big as some people reported but for a 3 stars hotel is fine. The only (very) bad thing during breakfast was the coffee. I am italian so I have some expectations about it, but I am living in germany already 8 years, so I known how a typical german coffee is. That one was horrible. As I told I stayed just one night, so maybe I had just bad luck with the coffee, but I suggest you to try a little bit before to fill up your cup. bye

Excellent location for rail travelers - just a few blocks (10 min) from station. Main city sights are a comfortable 15-20 minute walk away. Luandry is a convenient one block away. No soap in shower dispenser and slow drain fixed quickly upon arrival after notifying desk. Lack of A/C could be a problem in hot weather. We closed windows at night to keep traffic noise out - not a big problem in early June. Good sized (for Europe) room with large bathroom was nicely furnished. Room was clean and comfortable. This is a great hotel. The location is perfect for getting around in Munich as it is so close to the train station. The staff recommended 2 different restaurants for us in the 2 nights we had there and both were fabulous. The breakfast was also remarkable, good in quality and quantity. The room was large but not very well lit. It did not match the photos at all, but we had asked for a room off the street for quiet and it was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel as long as you are not picky about the "beauty" of your room. It is a great value!

It was the first time we stayed at Hotel arthotel Munich. Nevertheless, from the very beginning when we arrived at the hotel, it was not nice when we were told that there would not be any more double-room available, although we had made the corresponding reservation for it. Therefore, the first night we were given an individual room and afterwards a double one. At the end, when we had to pay for the stay at the hotel, we told the man at the reception what had happened, in order to ask for a deduction for the first night owing to the inconveniences we were caused, but the only thing he did was granting us a deduction of 10 Euro and moreover he really asserted that the first night we had been given a DOUBLE-ROOM, this was really incredible because not only the employees of the first night confirmed orally to us an indivudual room, but also we saw the room and could clearly confirm that we had passed the first night in an INDIVIDUAL ROOM. Apart from the mentioned circunstances, the stay at the hotel was really okay but actually not what we had imagined.

After booking with Venere online I emailed the hotel direct to request a renovated room and I received a quick reply saying that would be no problem. My room on the 2nd floor was clean, very comfortable and was furnished in a modern style. It also had a flatscreen tv and free use of the safe in the room. Breakfast was your standard buffet fayre but was of a good quality. Given the negative comments from some of the previous guests I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised and I think I got very good value for what I paid. A low rating on competence of employees and quality of service provided based only on the night desk clerk. I'm not sure if he was untrained or just unwilling to make things right, but the night manager stepped in and easily worked out our problem. We needed a quad room for my family and a handicap accessible room for my parents. The quad room turned out to be the handicap accessible room with a leather futon for my teenage children, of opposite sex. Thankfully the night manage was there and put us in a true quad where the 4 of us could sleep comfortably. A low rating for quality of service because we traveled with my wheelchair bound father and found that the handicapped entrance and elevator were locked. If he had been traveling alone, he would have needed a cell phone to call the desk and get someone to let him in each time he went out. The handicap rooms were large as was the elevator, but the property itself is not truly handicap accessible if the handicapped person is traveling alone. The rest of the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet was ample and the breakfast room was large. It was convenient to Munich’s very accessible train station, about 3 blocks.

We stayed at the Arthotel for two nights in February 2008 and had a most enjoyable stay. My only gripe was that the room we stayed in was nothing like what was shown on the website. The modern, darkwood look with wooden floors shown in the pics on the website were in fact slightly dated rooms with green walls and carpets. I think the hotel may have been undergoing some renovations, so we must have been given an older room. None the less the rooms were clean and spacious and value for money given the price of hotels in Munich. Our twin room was booked for 2 people however the room was furnished with sleeping for up to 4people (4single beds total with 2 placed together as double). The hotel also has a small but nice bar area in reception. Also the staff were very friendly and accomodating with our needs. We arrived much earlier than the check-in time stated on the Venere website. As expected we could not check in but were allowed to leave our luggage while we went for breakfast nearby. Please be aware that the check in time of 11am stated on the Venere website is the hotel's check-out time therefore there is a high chance that if the hotel is full you will not receive your room until much later (due to cleaning). This was one of the reasons why we selected the Arthotel but i believe this is probably an issue with Venere as opposed to the hotel. Location-wise the hotel is perfect for getting to places in Munich. The hotel is 5mins walk from Hauptbahnhof (central station), from where the underground and trains will take you all over munich. I would recommend taking the Stassenbahn to the Marienplatz stop where the cathedral and the Hofbrauhaus is located. Contrary to what i read before going, the area around the hauptbahnof is completely safe and we encountered no problems whatsoever. Overall i would recommend the Arthotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel to explore the excellent city.

Perfect!!! We spent only on night in Munich (weekend trip) and had a wonderful time in the beautiful city. The Hotel is great: clean and very large room with all extras (refrigerator, international tv channels, etc), big bathroom to take a relaxed bath or shower. Excellent breakfast in a super designed restaurant.

Arrived to find the hotel had changed names (we didn't actually book for Art Hotel munich, it was called something else). We were then greeted by construction, paint and workmen all through the lobby. You couldn't get in the front door without asking the workers (who liked to ignore people) to move their paint tins. Reception not very friendly and when we asked to stay another night, they tried to charge us much more than we had paid for the other nights. Unfortunately we were on the third floor and so far the first and second floors are the only ones that have been finished renovated. Room very cramped for 4 people, bathroom quite dodgy. Location good though and breakfast great.

The hotel is actually under renovation, especially the public areas. It is already a nice hotel, it will be a very nice hotel. At the moment, some disturbances are possible due to the renovation work.

The room was really wide and quiet. Definitely a perfect hotel for business trips. The restructuring works reported in the previous comments are still going on, but this causes really no problems to the customers. In my next trips to Munich I really think I will stop at the same hotel again.

We atyed here during Oktoberfest and the room rate was 170 Euros, which was way too much for this hotel. Something was wrong with their bathroom ventilation and our room smelled very strongly of sewage for a couple days, not pleasant! If I had only paid 80 - 100 Euros for this place I would have been less upset about the quality of the hotel.

I heard some good critiques about this hotel so I decided to reserve a room. I prefer to start from the worst thing (the last day) and then continue to the best one (the first 4 days) He had returned from Innsbruck the 26th and we had reserved a room to sleep there. They gave us a room on the first floor, the only floor which was in renewal process. The furniture had their better days long time ago since the bed tables, beds, chairs, the coffee table and the wardrobe were plenty of scratches and looked a way too old, the table lamps were really old and the wallpaper was already getting unstuck from the walls, despite this the bathroom was good, the illumination was lovely and there was a tft TV. The beds were a way too hard and I could hardly sleep But this is nonsense since this cost us only 80 € for a night and was really logical since we had to leave the next day, a new room would be totally a waste. And actually the rest of the floors have new rooms. And what rooms!!!! New furniture, a 32” tft Samsung TV, new table lamps, new wardrobe, new sofa, new mini-bar, new curtains, new beds (and more comfortable!)… And only paying 105€ for night!! (I’m talking about a triple room) The breakfast was good too: free-buffet from 7 to 10. Moreover, the hotel has an small bar and if you have a laptop you can use the hotel’s internet access. If not… well, at least you can use the computer near the vending machine, access is fully free. If I’m not wrong they want to make the hotel bigger and add some new things. I recommend it if you want go to Munich and you don’t want to pay much.

The garage was full.We didn't know that we need reservation for the garage too.The hotel looks shabby many parts of the pavement include the ground inside the lift were broken. The room hasn't air condition and was so hot that was impossible stay in.It was the worst hotel in 20 days trip. The hotel was the worst part of our stay in Munich.

The location on their map is off by one block, which is significant when driving. The hotel is well located with a beer garden and the train station within walking distance. The building just changed ownership and is being remodeled so some of the few shortcomings will be corrected. The parking is hard to get in and out of in anything other than a very small vehicle.

This was our 1st stay at the Einhorn. We were told the hotel was changing management. The hallways and elevator were dirty. There were stacks of packaged items in the hallways. The desk assistants were unable to give assistance on several questions of the area. To retrieve your car from the garage, an employee had to go to the garage each time to open it - inefficient use of employee time!

I was in Munich alone, so I had a single room. It looks too small for me, but there was only this problem. Everything was clean, comfortable and despite of funs Bayern Munchen (they were in hotel, too) there was peace and quiet room. So I was happy, connection with UBahn was really good, close to Hauptbahnhof, so it took only a few minutes to the center of Munich.
