Plus: - Location close to city centre - Free parking - Very spacious room (superior) - Cleanliness of room & toilet/shower Minus: - Couldn't open the window and close the shutter at the same time, so we had the coice between sticky air or free view through the window when people were passing by to the parking lot as the room was located on the ground floor

The hotel is a bit shabby and in need of renovation, but the staff is very friendly and the location excellent for a city visit.

Since I only saw the other guests at breakfast but didn't speak to any of them, I have no idea who they were — one older & two younger couples. My breakfast was exactly what I wanted & needed. On Saturday evening I was invited by friends to an excellent restaurant in the centre of town. I was very pleased with my stay & loved Mulhouse!

The hotel is an older style property full of character but in need of some redecortaing and modernisation. Despite that everything was perferctly acceptable for the price. It's located about a 15 minute walk from the city centre and close to the railway station although it is not a depressing area. There is also limired free parking (some under cover free to guests). We stayed in a standard room and it was a little frugal but fine. The breakfast was a typical cold buffet and was satisfactory. I would return again as it's good value for the price. The owner mentioned it would be redecorated and updated later this year.

Charming hotel close to the old city center. Although our room was a bit noisy due to the closeness to the railway station.

Easy walking distance to both train and town centre. As with most hotels in France, the rooms are good value for 2 people but very expensive for 1 since there is virtually no discount. They gave us a 'suite' of 2 rooms between three people in our own separate building so it was very private. One menber of staff spoke good english and was very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves had adequate facilities but weren't very large for a double and were a bit dated.

A pleasant provincial hotel - an old building which hasn't been redecorated or modernised, so some of the charecteristics are quite old fashioned. The lady at reception is very helpful and charming. Free parking. Free wifi. Big rooms. Continental, but reasonably copious, breakfast. No double glazing, but the steet is very calm - particularly at night. I'll stay here again.

An older building that I found charming, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, I was upgraded to a superior which was very spacious. The location is within short walking distance of the train station, stores, and is about a 40eur cab ride to the Basel/Mul. airport. One of the cheaper places I stayed on my trip as well as one of the nicer ones; Mulhouse itself was not so interesting (sorry Mulhouse!) but if I was there again I would definitely stay at the Hotel du Musée-Gare.

The hotel had very friendly accommodating staff who although spoke little English it was better than my French and with us both putting in a little effort in a combination of the two languages we managed to understand each other. Their patience and perseverance was much appreciated. The hotel appeared to be a converted mansion house (for want of a better description) so had bags of character, large rooms and ornate décor and although this may not be to everyone’s taste it suited me. Yes, it means that some of the things you expect in a hotel, such as the en suite, are retro fit but they are still there and very usable. Not everything was perfect and a little maintenance would go a long but what can I say? At that price how about, “Wow, great value for money”! But most of all, great, friendly staff who made me feel welcome. They are often the most important yet overlooked part of the experience you take away with you. My thanks go to all who I met there.

Very welcoming people, and very helpful too. The only problem I had was in finding the hotel to begin with - the directions need to be clearer, or a map provided. The Musee D'Auto was wonderful - it helps to be interested in classic cars, but as such is was so good. The old part of Mulhouse, near the large central church, is best for walking around. It's also easy to get to Basle.

I was there in January with my father while I was travelling to UK. The receptionist said he couldn't speak english. When I had to pay for the room he wanted to charge me 25 euros because of "taxes". Then i started to argue and surprisingly he replied in english and changed is mind after I showed him the reservation from venere that I had printed out. (no comment!) The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast simple but ok. Car is secure in the private car park

This hotel and its owner could not have been bettered in relation to our expectations and requirments. the hotel is a period type from a time gone by, the rooms have large ceilings and windows and the feeling is of staying in someones large city home. the owner himself was must helpful, he reccomended a lovely resteraunt and was helpful at all times.the purpose of our visit was to see the Bugatti collection, the hotel was the perfect base. Next time we are travelling through this area we will be using this hotel, a definate change from the coperate chains you see all across Europe.

The room was small, but clean. The location was just barely on the outskirts. In other words, almost everything was just in one direction. HOWEVER, this is not to say it's not central. Mulhouse is very small and delightful to walk around. I crossed from one side to the other in 15 minutes, walking quickly and in under 30 having a nice slow stroll. The location also means it is quiet. AND you can't get much closer to the train station (it's a 5 minute walk) and still have quiet. There's a convenience store just blocks away as is a cute little local pub and a few restaurants. The main issue I had was with communication with the staff. Their version of French nad mine were quite different and they had great difficulty understanding me and me them. I did not have the same difficulty with the shows, cafes, and resaurants in town. Some people do speak English. Not a lot, although I tried to converse only in French. The hotel is non-smoking, but if you ask they have ashtrays and you can smoke out the windows.

Eine ehemalige Fabrikantenvilla mit Zimmern von besonderem Reiz. Wirkt teilweise etwas verbraucht, ist aber zur Zeit in liebevoller Renovation. Für Nostalgiker eine Trouvaille!

Its website correctly displayed the attributes of this hotel, free parking, close proximity to centre ville etc. The renovation to its decor has tastefully maintained the charm of its era. Well done. We chose a Superior room for both our visits, as an interlude from biking to and from Italy and in each case found them to be welcoming, clean, tidy and well laid out. However, we have one area in both cases which needs attention where the shower head requires secure fixing to the wall. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would use this hotel again. Finally we would like to say Bon Voyage to the gentleman on his voyage of discovery. You will be assured of a friendly welcome at each of your destinations.

Price vs. room / value of service is OK - two items have to be said though: a) price in venere was higher than price on location b) waterpressure was very low - took some time to get showered Staff was very friendly and accommodating - overall rating: it can be recommended for a short stay for somebody who isn´t in for luxury.
