Golf-Hôtel René Capt - Montreux

We used this hotel on two separate occasions. On the second we were given a room that was either still in use or had not been cleaned. This, of course, had to be changed. Dinner was very expensive for the quality of meal served

The location of this hotel right on Lake Geneva was outstanding. We had a beautiful room with gorgeous lake view & the sun hitting the snow capped peaks of the alps in the distance. A short enjoyable walk along the promenade into town for cafes & restaurants. The reception staff were friendly, warm and very helpful..excellent hotel.

Incredible room – if lakeside with balcony (we changed our reservation from city view which is towards and next to train track to lake side which was great...and we got a good rate for a lake view and 4-star hotel. The rooms in tne recent parts of the hotel are little bit noisy. My adwice is to rent rooms with lake view in the historic part of the hotel. The sightseeing from the panoramic terrasse is marvelous. A charming place to stay.

Would recommend that if you are staying more than a couple of nights to upgrade to a lake view room. We had room 377 which was dull & dingy & over the train line. We paid for half board but did not realise that the meal was set 4 course meal good standard but no choice at any course. Staff were very helpful & the lounge, dinning room & terrace very nice. Lovely position on lake promenade easy walk to center of Montreux or there is a tram stop outside. We were given a half fare card for train etc so could have saved money if we had not booked return journey to Geneva airport. Very central for trips out.

Hotel bien situé mais chambre très mal située. Bien sûr, je n'attendais pas la vue sur le lac mais de là à être dans une chambre petite et avec vue le mur de soutènement de la voie ferrée et le bruit très poétique du train à cadence régulière y compris la nuit ... Il serait utile d'informer le client potentiel avnt qu'il ne s'engage bien imprudemment! Sinon, bien sûr le lac est magnifique!

I must mention that even though check-in was clearly advertised at 2pm, due to a wedding we had on the day at 2pm the hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and fulfilled our request to check in at 12:30 so that we could get ready. I wanted to mention this as this did make a huge difference in our whole experience. The only bit of improvement we would suggest is a mini bar and coffee/tea/kettle as part of the room amenities.

The heat/humidity meant we had to leave the window open as there was no airconditioning,consequently the noise from the railway line DIRECTLY outside the window was appalling. It was unbearable. We requested to move rooms the following day,to the front of the hotel which although was accommodated cost a further 240CH. While the staff were overall were helpful and pleasant I think the tarrif for this hotel far exceeds its rating. My husband and I feel generally very disappointed and ripped off.

Got a free upgrade!! Great staff. Very welcoming and service-minded. One of the best places I have stayed in Switzerland.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and of adequate size. Nice modern bathroom. Overall price seemed quite high, but perhaps Montreaux is very expensive in general. Location of hotel right on the water was lovely. A pool would have been nice.

When I borrowed the adapter, they didn't tell me they would charge me 4.5 swiss franks at all. It is also the only hotel that charges for adapters during all my 7 day trip in Switerland. Poor hotel service, I will have to come down to fetch the water that I bought. Terrible hotel.

The views from this hotel are amazing, the rooms are large and clean with huge windows. Lovely helpful staff that let us check in early. We got a great rate on the room making it the best value for money we experienced in Switzerland

The hotel facilities and service greatly exceeded our expectations. We had requested a room with view to the lake and we got it, even though we booked only 1 week before traveling. The rooms were very, very clean, the hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a great location, just a 25 minute walk to Chaute Chillon. I would definetly come back to this hotel! Overall, just great!

Great location and this hotel is clearly one of the better ones in Montreux.

Our stay in your hotel was an excellent experience. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Sebastian, at the front desk, who we also had spoken with on the telephone, was very very helpful and provided us with the best accomodations. The entire staff and food service was excellent. WE WILL DEFINITELY USE YOUR SERVICE AGAIN.
