Hotel Ste-Catherine - Montreal

I stayed just one nigth, the doesn't have an elevator, so with my baggage some difficult going to reception.

Very pleasant welcome, help to carry the luggages upstairs the big inconvenient is the noise during the night ( hotel close to a night cabaret)

In the middle of the gay district of Montreal. Staff enthusiastic. Room had no closets or places to hang clothes. Everything was clean except under the beds. Good hotel for the money. Difficult stair access.

Exactly what we were expecting : Low budget, but welcoming, clean, even if quite old fashion; it's not a luxury hôtel!!! Beds were perfect!!! Very comfortable queen size bed. Private bathroom. Accessibility was perfect : not far from the metro, easy from the airport, center of the city easy to reach. And plenty of restaurants, not very expensive. I was there with my daughter, the atmosphere in the street was quite friendly, and we are not gay!

The boss was helpful and trustworthy at all times. Valuables were looked after, water provided for the refrigerator, a personal front door key supplied if you are reliable and the hot water was always really hot. What was lacking was a wardrode for clothes (although there was hanging space) and a good table. The room was certainly big enough and the bed comfortable. Having both a bath and a shower was pleasing. The hotel was so quiet that the presence of other visitors was often not obvious! The boss successfully turned away strangers that wanted to 'visit' room-holders they knew. The lack of a lift might affect those who find stairs hard to negotiate: all rooms are on the second or third floor. The nearest metro station can be reached in a minute or two.
