Hotel St-Denis - Montreal

Hotel St. Denis was a great place to stay: great location, great service, great price.

Hotel St-Denis is located right by one of Montreal's central subway stations in a great location at the heart of the city. The staff were very kind and courteous (one night we needed a knife to cut a cake we had purchased, and the gentleman working in the lobby brought one up to our room himself). Though the facility seems small, the rooms are more than spacious -- the couch in our room could even turn into a pullout bed so that we could accommodate three guests total. Definitely a great value for travellers (especially if you're a student splitting the cost with some friends).

Excellent hotel. Ultra clean and well maintained room. No smell at all anywhere in hotel. Bright and airy. Welcoming & helpful staff. Great place to stay downtown.

We've been staying in 1 Large room (2 Queen size beds - 4 pers) at St-Denis Hotel for 2 nights and really enjoyed the location and service.

Close by to the Beri-UQAM Metro station so you can quickly and effortlessly travel throughout the city. St-Denis is an excellent st. to be on! When we checked in, they didn't have our room, so they upgraded us to two SUITES! Great staff!

St-Denis (Latin Quarter) is the bohemian, vibrant, artsy heart of the city so this location rocks. Nice foyer. Good, basic, clean, non-smoking. Great A/C. Tiny elevator. The noisier rooms facing the street have been renovated; the inside quieter rooms haven't yet. It wasn't insanely noisy; like New York, u could hear motorcycles and ambulances and low-buzz traffic.It's very clean but there are still signs that this is an older building.I had an economy room (dbl bed) on the top (4th) floor. The sink is in the entry and not in the bathroom so if you need lots of counter space, forget it! Recommend electric boat tour 45 min in Vieux Port (in Old Montreal beside Bateau Mouche), bkfst at Eqqsquis (Brossard)and on Saint-Denis (1765)Le Cafe Croissant de Lune has great coffee and crepes for brunch and the hamburgers and poutine at Frites Alors! across the street are amazing.

It is well located although it is a not a very nice hotel

Hotel/room was very good and well located. A good choice. Only complaint was the noise from the nightclub 2 doors away on Friday and Saturday nights.

Catherine was particularly helpful in finding us a hire car and giving directions. We were upgraded from 3 sharing one room to 2 rooms as the larger room had a broken basin. The room overlooking the street was very noisy but the room at the back was fine. A very convenient location just try to get a room at the back. Bed very comfortable.

I checked in early Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday. The location is excellent as the hotel is quite close to a subway station (Berry-UQAM)and close to other venues. The rooms were quite clean and there was enough space for storage of luggage. The only advice I would give to future travellers is to keep in mind that around 3 AM, there may be a lot of noise from the street as the bars/clubs close and people can be quite loud and rowdy. Otherwise, an excellent choice.

The rooms facing the main street are very noise at night especially over the weekends.

Rooms facing the theater are terribly noisy in weekends till 03.00 am. I had to switch to a rear room that was tiny but quieter. Staff were very qualified. Location is perfect, close to the the Jazz Festival, Old Harbor, and China Town. I would go there again.

The St Denis, was centrally located, it was within easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and other attractions. I'd definitely stay there again.

Very pleased with hotel and location

The location is a big big plus for this hotel. the quality of what you get for your money is excellent. a little bit noisy at night...but you are downtown montreal so...

Loved the room! Very large, clean and comfortable. Looked very new, like it had been renovated quite recently. The staff were very polite and helpful. 5-minute walk to Old Montreal. Excellent value for money.

We stayed four days. Location was the best we could have hoped for. Would stay there again. Much of old Montreal was easily accessible on foot and for other sights the metro was quick and reliable and also within very easy walking distance.
