Meetings and banquets can easily be organized, as there are 8 fully-equipped and adjustable meeting rooms hosting up to 200 people. The largest room has a circular shape and boasts spectacular panoramic windows.
Hotel amenities include the refined Bistro Beau Rivage restaurant, offering tasty continental cuisine and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner until 10 p.m. Guests will also find a variety of bars, restaurants and pubs only three blocks away, on Crescent Street.

I think all the bad reviews on other sites are isolated incidents. In fact, I think people who have bad experiences probably are more inclined to report a bad experience than people who have a good experience. My wife and I had a good experience. The front desk was great with helping us find things to eat (e.g., French cuisine) and do (e.g., Montreal casino and underground mall). The rooms were clean, the cleaning staff was respectful.

When we arrived we found that the employees had just started a strike so management was left to run all aspects of the hotel. I can not complain as they did the best they could considering the surprise strike but the restaurant had limited hours so we ordered in as our 5 year old wasn't up to a sit down dinner. The hotel room was clean and presented well although quite small, as expected in an older hotel. The pool was wonderful, and not many hotels in the downtown area have a pool. We chose this hotel for the location and weren't disappointed.
Room Details
The newly renovated guest rooms of the Maritime Plaza Hotel are elegantly furnished and feature a lovely traditional decor. Comfort is the keyword for all accommodations, which offer useful amenities such as wireless Internet access, two telephones, complimentary coffee and tea making facilities, iron and ironing board.The Executive King rooms also feature newspapers delivered daily, bathrobes, and deluxe goose down duvets and pillows.
