Hotel Kutuma is situated in a great area with ethnic restaurants and interesting shops all around. The hotel staff were terrific - very responsive to our needs and always service with a smile. The rooms were comfortable with a bit of decorating flair and the bathroom was huge. The food at the adjacent restaurant was lovely and definitely worth a try. The metro was easily accessible and for those who like to walk, virtually everything could be seen on foot. We did take a metro ride to the Biodome which was a fun destination. We throughly enjoyed the hotel and the immediate area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other travellers.

Loved the decor, unique. The staff was great. And the location was ideal for us, in Old Montreal, near subway and shops. We walked to downtown and to Mont Royal. Would stay at Hotel Kutuma again.

Awesome hotel, great staff. Location is a bit north from "the centre" but still quite convenient and very easy to find FREE parking on nearby sidestreets.

Super hotel. Gentillesse et amabilié du personnel. Chambres très spacieuses et belles . Très bien situé. Le restaurant de l'hotel "le nil bleu" spécialisé en cuisine éthiopienne est excellent et original. très bonne adresse à recommander

Même si cet hôtel comporte peu de chambres, l'accueil était très sympathique. Nous avons obtenu une Junior-Suite à la place d'une chambre double, donc nous étions très contents. C'était très calme (arrière de la rue). Réfrigérateur, possibilité de faire du thé/café. Hôtel bien placé sur la Rue St-Denis et à 200 m du métro. La zone des restaurants sur St-Denis est à 10-12 minutes à pied. Très bonne impression.

Great Hotel for the price. I was upgraded to a suite which was great. The shower situation is extremely odd. There's a rain shower head over the jacuzzi tub that mad it difficult to shower. And the parking situation was a bit stressful. It was all valet. Overall, this is a great hotel. Friendly service and clean, spacious room.

We can't say enough good things about our stay here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a nice getaway in a great city. My husband and I spent a long weekend in Montreal to celebrate our first anniversary. Kutuma was the perfect stay -- and it's even lovelier in person than on the website. The staff was warm and helpful. The rooms are huge. We'd only booked a queen standard but still ended up with a giant (and very comfortable) king-size bed. The kitchenette was well enough equipped for simple meal prep in the room, which is handy. The bathroom has a great tub (with candles!). It's true that there's no proper shower, but it's pretty easy to use the shower hose/nozzle for a "seated shower" in the tub. (Besides, it forces you to slow down a bit and enjoy the stay.) No shortage of food options in the area. Our first night, we ordered room service from the Ethiopian restaurant on the ground floor, which was lovely. Another great nearby option is a small bistro called Cocaigne -- about 3 or 4 minutes walk north on St. Denis. Fabulous food and service, at quite reasonable prices. If you're only in Montreal for a couple of days or only need basic accommodations, this may not be right, but if you're looking to indulge in something a bit luxurious (but still very affordable) and have a relaxing stay, can't recommend this highly enough. We'll definitely stay here again.

i found it annoying that we were not quoted a total price inclusive of all taxes. If i had known before hand, we would have stayed somewhere else. It added a fair amount to the bill

From Jacques-Cartier Bridge:
After the bridge take De Lorimier Avenue. Go uphill and make a left on Sherbrooke Street. After approximately 1.5 km, make a right on St. Denis Street. The hotel is three streets ahead on the left.
From Pont Champlain:
Follow the indications for Downtown Montreal until you reach University Street. Follow University to Sherbrooke Street and make a right. After approximately 1.4 km make a left on St Denis Street. The hotel is three streets ahead on the left.
From highway 40 Est (Metropolitan Blv)/Dorval Airport:
Take exit 71 Saint-Laurent/Saint-Denis. Stay on the service road for around 1.3 km (follow Saint-Denis/335 South). At the fourth set of traffic lights, make a right on St Denis Street and continue to street number 3708.
From highway 40 Est:
Take exit 73 Christophe-Colomb/Saint-Hubert. Remain on the service road (Crémazie Blv) for approximately 1.3 km. At the fourth traffic light, make a left on St Denis Street and continue to street number 3708.
From highway 20 Est:
Highway 20 will become Ville-Marie (720 east). Take the Saint-Laurent/Berri exit. On the service road, make a left onto Berri Street. Continue for around 1.6 km to Roy Street and turn left. At the next traffic light turn left onto St Denis Street. The hotel is located on the right at street number 3708.
