Hotel Kutuma - Montreal

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and I couldn't find a bad thing to say about this hotel. I would highly recommend it!

Average hotel; surprised at tripadvisor rating of 4.5/5... I would not give it more than 3/5. Room small and rather dark; AC unit noisy and does not work properly. Good location though.

The stairs are extremely steep and I had the last room. The staff was great about taking my luggage up, they gave me tea while waiting for my room upon arrival and they gave me an empty room to stay in while waiting to leave. If you have issues with stairs I would not advise staying here but otherwise it was wonderful. The restaurant in the Hotel was very different and good. Be warned that you will be eating with your fingers! I was here for 2 days. There is a laundry just around the corner on Pine Street and a newly opened UPS store and many restaurants to the right of the Hotel.

Warmly greeted upon arrival and made to feel welcome. Throughout my stay the staff were very helpful. The room was excellent. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel Kutuma is situated in a great area with ethnic restaurants and interesting shops all around. The hotel staff were terrific - very responsive to our needs and always service with a smile. The rooms were comfortable with a bit of decorating flair and the bathroom was huge. The food at the adjacent restaurant was lovely and definitely worth a try. The metro was easily accessible and for those who like to walk, virtually everything could be seen on foot. We did take a metro ride to the Biodome which was a fun destination. We throughly enjoyed the hotel and the immediate area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other travellers.

Loved the decor, unique. The staff was great. And the location was ideal for us, in Old Montreal, near subway and shops. We walked to downtown and to Mont Royal. Would stay at Hotel Kutuma again.

Awesome hotel, great staff. Location is a bit north from "the centre" but still quite convenient and very easy to find FREE parking on nearby sidestreets.

Super hotel. Gentillesse et amabilié du personnel. Chambres très spacieuses et belles . Très bien situé. Le restaurant de l'hotel "le nil bleu" spécialisé en cuisine éthiopienne est excellent et original. très bonne adresse à recommander

Même si cet hôtel comporte peu de chambres, l'accueil était très sympathique. Nous avons obtenu une Junior-Suite à la place d'une chambre double, donc nous étions très contents. C'était très calme (arrière de la rue). Réfrigérateur, possibilité de faire du thé/café. Hôtel bien placé sur la Rue St-Denis et à 200 m du métro. La zone des restaurants sur St-Denis est à 10-12 minutes à pied. Très bonne impression.

Great small hotel. Perfect for a few days, the rooms are very spaciuos and clean.

Great Hotel for the price. I was upgraded to a suite which was great. The shower situation is extremely odd. There's a rain shower head over the jacuzzi tub that mad it difficult to shower. And the parking situation was a bit stressful. It was all valet. Overall, this is a great hotel. Friendly service and clean, spacious room.

We can't say enough good things about our stay here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a nice getaway in a great city. My husband and I spent a long weekend in Montreal to celebrate our first anniversary. Kutuma was the perfect stay -- and it's even lovelier in person than on the website. The staff was warm and helpful. The rooms are huge. We'd only booked a queen standard but still ended up with a giant (and very comfortable) king-size bed. The kitchenette was well enough equipped for simple meal prep in the room, which is handy. The bathroom has a great tub (with candles!). It's true that there's no proper shower, but it's pretty easy to use the shower hose/nozzle for a "seated shower" in the tub. (Besides, it forces you to slow down a bit and enjoy the stay.) No shortage of food options in the area. Our first night, we ordered room service from the Ethiopian restaurant on the ground floor, which was lovely. Another great nearby option is a small bistro called Cocaigne -- about 3 or 4 minutes walk north on St. Denis. Fabulous food and service, at quite reasonable prices. If you're only in Montreal for a couple of days or only need basic accommodations, this may not be right, but if you're looking to indulge in something a bit luxurious (but still very affordable) and have a relaxing stay, can't recommend this highly enough. We'll definitely stay here again.

I found it annoying that we were not quoted a total price inclusive of all taxes. If i had known before hand, we would have stayed somewhere else. It added a fair amount to the bill

This hotel was far better than I expected. Highly recommended. The rooms are excellent!
