A lovely old building centrally located and with some innovative interior decor. Unbelievably spacious, both in the rooms and public areas. A highly comfortable, convenient place to stay.

Wow! Spectacular location right on the Place de la Comedie with all its activity. The hotel is also close to the train station. Our room (101) had a large balcony overlooking this square. Altogether one of the most spectacular hotels we have stayed at.

Habitación muy correcta. La localización del hotel estupenda, justo en el centro de Montpellier. El hotel está en un edificio antiguo que han redecorado en plan moderno con muy buen gusto. Un hotel recomendable.

Favourite hotel on entire trip. Fabulously renovated in big old corner hotel in great location 5 mins from station. Big comfortable rooms, gigantic modern bathrooms and beautiful breakfast room with good buffet and plenty of fresh fruit. Would loved to have stayed longer but had to move on. Will be back.

This is a good value for money hotel in the charming town of Montpellier. The room was not very big but it sufficed as a stopover hotel for a day or two. Very close to train station and centre of town.Highly recommended.

Rather than the New Hotel Du Midi, we ended up being placed in the Royal - a similar hotel a bit closer to the station. This was ostensibly due to a leaking ceiling, however it's probably just the two hotels being managed by the same company and sharing their allocation. Anyway, the Royal was an interesting place to stay - although its faded South of france grandeur may not be to everybody's taste. Slightly suspect 70s tiles in the bathroom, but the room was large with a vast balcony. However it overlooked the main street which was noisy beyond belief! We didn't try breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning.

This hotel was very central, comfortable and quiet. We asked for a non-smoking room and were given one. Service was impersonal and one day our room was cleaned very late and we had to wait to re-enter it. We found the maid inside watching television! We would, however, stay there again.

I paid 90€ without breakfast with Venere and it was worth the price. They gave me a double room with a small balcony over a street that gave on the Comedy place. It was a beautiful building and a warmful bedroom, recently renovated. Double windows so very quiet.

I just stayed one night, and was in the ideal location at the stunning centre of Montpellier, right next to the old opera house, and very close to fantastic restaurants in the delightful old town. The hotel is modern inside but still has beautiful features, and the exterior is wonderful. Staff were extremely courteous and friendly.

The room was like a closet painted a dull yellow, I was truly disappointed, I had stayed at the same chain in NImes and this was very overpriced with no nice touches at all, I wouldn't stay here again

Excellent accommodation and ideal location for the city centre. Rooms spotless and very tastefully decorated. Very good value for money at the Venere.com rate. Only problem is parking which is not easy to find. I used the underground "Comédie" car park which is very close but cost @12€ for an overnight parking.

New Hotel du Midi is exactly as it is described. It is right in centre of Montpellier. The hotel is part of a small chain, New Hotel...., and we stayed in a sister hotel in Nimes I will specifically look out for this chain as both hotels were good quality 3 stars. The staff at reception could not have been more helpful and friendly. please be aware though that there is no cafe, bar or restaurant attached to the hotel. just a breakfast room

Excellent location, looking towards the central pedestrianised square. Better to have breakfast at the popular Cafe du Theatre nearby for €4.10 than the €13.00 charged by the hotel. Montpellier is a beautiful city, not quite spoilt by the ponderous Antigone, but in serious danger from graffiti and dogs.

The hotel was just finishing off their renovations but we were not disturbed in any way. The room was spacious and comfortable, reception staff were friendly. The location is excellent. We ate in different restuarants every night and had breakfast on Place Comedie every morning for less that 6euros each...so cheap we didn't even try the hotel breakfast. Only downside would be lack of parking at hotel- local car parks were expensive. Diving in Montpellier is a nightmare so don't hire a car unless you really want to go out and about but if you do Sete is worth a visit for the sardines alone.

I choose for this hotel because of the location, the beautifull website presentation and the price/quality offered. It turned out that the hotel currently (3-05) is under reconstruction and that the low price resulted from the reconstruction inconveniences (dust, noise). The rooms as presented in the pictures in fact are far less beautifull, rather worn out. I think that after reconstruction, this will be a nice hotel. However, upon info from the reception, the prices then will be much higher again. Excellent location, by the way, and friendly staff.

The hotel offered a special rate during their remodeling of the hotel. What they did not say is that the special rate applies only to the UNremodeled rooms (even though there were plenty of vacant remodeled rooms). The room I received was large, and the bathroom was clean. However, the rug looked like it was used in a train station (I didnt want to walk on it without shoes) and the bed's matress was foam rubber. I asked if I could switch to one of the remodeled rooms and was told that it would cost me another 18 EUROS per night. My colleague's room was worse, and he left for another hotel (Metropole), but I stayed and payed the extra money. The remodeled rooms are nice, and the besds have new real matresses, but be sure you know which room you are getting. Oh, one other thing, the hotel did not have cable TV so I could not listen to news for 6 days.
