Hotel Le Clos de l'Aube Rouge - Castelnau-le-Lez, Montpellier

The hotel is charming. It may be a wee bit in need of refurbishing but that might spoil it. The evening buffet in the courtyard was excellent. Nice place, lovely staff, very relaxing place to stay and very handy to the tram to get into towm. Might be a bit far out for a younger couple.

The big problem with this place is it's a resort...in the suburbs! Nice enough, but it's not far enough out in the country to feel like a resort, nor close enough to town to be useful to tourists or people doing business there. It was so far away from the city center, where I had business, that I only stayed one night. The distance from town can be inferred by the fact that only every other tram goes out that far. Apparently they're not doing much business: the guy at the desk sighed noticeably when I checked out. I felt his pain, but I had stuff to do.

Clean and comfortable.Easy to find and get to from Railway Station, thought the meals were expensive for what they were particularly breakfast. But would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Nothing in the area at all so it is lucky that the tram service is so good and cheap. The hotel itself is fine - nothing special - but a good base for the area, especially if you had a car.

The food was dire and not cheap - the worst I had in France in the three weeks. It is a self service buffet and one has to clear one's own dishes (otherwise they stack up on the table). The quality and choice were awful and not aimed at anyone who enjoys their food. The location precluded an easy walk to another and better venue. Brochette or pasta as a main course. Campanile's and even restaurants attached to the hypermarkets put them to shame by orders of magnitude. The reception and room were excellent though.

Such a convenient location for a spacious and airy hotel. Ideal for those who seek peace and quiet among gardens and so close to the center especially via the tram.

The room was wonderful!! So big and comfortable! We could check our mail for free... in a very cozy room near the reception. In the morning we decided to have breakfast (not included in the price)at the hotel's restaurant, and everything was delicious.
