First of all it was dirty, very hot, we had to pay in addition for air conditioning. We couldn't use the bathroom because the shower cabin was clogged. Just imagine: You just got off a crowded train, hot summer day, all sweaty and tired(the location wasn't very easy to find, though it's close to the station - this is the only good thing about the hotel),and you can not use the shower. VERY disappointing! Wouldn't return, even if it was free...

I do not recommend at all this hotel even if it is well located. We arrived at midnight at the hotel. THe Hotel is supposed to be a 2 stars hotel but honestly it does not even worth a single star. The room and bathroom was so dirty that even if it was midnight we started searching on internet for another hotel. Unfortunately all hotels were fully booked so we couldn't leave the place and had to sleep in this horrible, dirty hotel. So do not just look at the value for money (we paid 45 euros). I regret to not have added 30 euros more and sleep in a decent place. Will never come back again.

My boyfriend and I chose this hotel after finding out that there was only one youth hostel in Montpellier that would have been just as expensive as staying in Hotel Polygone, but with shared rooms and bathrooms and an early lockout. The rooms in hotel polygone are nothing special, very similar in quality to a youth hostel. They do have nice big windows and a small terrace, and everything was in working condition. The bathroom and shower was very small like most bathrooms in France. They give you your room key and hotel key, which you get to keep so that you can come and go as you please. The staff was very nice and check-in and check-out. If you are planning to share a room with someone this hotel has good pricing. The area is also very close to the train station, the mall, the tramway, and the city center, while remaining in a quieter neighborhood .

I was staying in Hotel Polygone for 1 day with my wife in January 2011. Main advantage of this hotel is its convenient location, especially if you travel to Montpellier by train - it is only 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Staff was very welcoming and competent, speaking English (that can be considered as an advantage in case of some hotels in France :-) ), kindly explaining me what I wanted to know about getting around in Montpellier and helping me with Wi-Fi Internet that was free of charge and pretty fast. Unfortunately great advantages almost end here and disatvantages start to appear. Double 'Comfort' Room (as it was stated in the receipt) was really small, especially bathroom, (I can't imagine how 'normal' room looks like) and, saying frankly, in a pretty poor condition from the point of view of its furniture – ‘sliding’ doors in a wardrobe were completely broken, door to the room was a bit cranky. Phone was working as it should, same for Internet connection. All hotel guests were given a key from hotel front door that is being closed every night at 23:00 that theoretically adds security (or at least feeling more secure) for all people staying in the hotel. Surroundings were quite and nice, but at the same time, there were no small grocery stores working late evenings (at lease in a visible sight), so we had to go relative far from the hotel to buy some water. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Montpellier by train, if you need Internet connection that is include in a room’s price and, most importantly, if you are completely aware of what 2 stars mean. Don’t expect too much from this small and rather nice hotel and you won’t be disappointed at the end.

It was a rather good hotel. My friend and I are satisfied with it. To be honest the service staff does always speak English, but we do not speak French as we are from a Nordic country and only speak English. However, it was sometimes cold in different rooms in October where our friends lived. Besides, we could not go to WC after walking on the day of our departure, bcs it did not work as the receptionist-girl said to us.

I spent in this hotel more than 1 week (in October) and it wasn't so bad. However, it was very cold in the room some days, and often room was not very clean. But the price is OK, if you take into account very good location of hotel (very close to railway station, tram station and historical center of the city). This hotel is perfect if you travel without children and intend to spend your daytime outside, seeing the sights of the city and spend overnight only in hotel.

It's a great hotel in the center of the city, 5 minuts of walking to Place de la Comedie. You get what you pay for. It's not a luxery hotel, you get what you need and that's it. Extra costs for air condition (not that expensive). I was travelling with a friend of mine, but before we both lived in this city so we know it and we really enjoyed our vacation. The reception close at 2 a.m.-7 a.m. but if you want to stay out longer, the hotel's providing you with your own key to the front door.

I have a family of five and only needed to stay in Montpellier for one night. This was a very short distance from the train station (with luggage since there was no storage in the Montpellier train station!!). We had a "quad" and were able to put a couple of beds together for our three kids and they stayed quite comfortably. We did need air conditioning for an extra 3 Euros, but well worth the cost!! The rooms were very basic, but GREAT if you are on a budget. I thought the cleanliness of the rooms was very good.

This hotel doesn't offers you a lot, but it's cheap. The rooms weren't perfectly clean, but if you doesn't eek out when you see a toenail on the bed, it'll be ok. The breakfast was served by the receptionist, he was always very helpful. Like others, our drains seemed to be clogged and the water drained off very slowly. But it won't overflow if you only take a short shower.

It was a bit confusing at first to find the place as the Place de Commedie is a big square with soo many small lanes in every corner. But once you find the hotel, its a straight simple way. Hotels charge extra 2 euro as tax which is not mentioned on the website and they also charge few extra euro to use the air condition! I thought that was included when you book the room. Never the less, we were lucky to have our room on 1st floor. Those having room upstairs on this 3 storey building will have problem to carry their luggage as they have no lifts but we were bag packers with less luggage,So we had no problems.

This hotel is very near the station and just the other side of an underpass. Traffic, both cars and trains, roared past at all hours, plus there was a lot of shouting in the street during the night. The bathroom was dirty, to the extent that I didn't like to get washed in it. The shower flooded onto the floor. The breakfast was not worth 7 euros, being of poor quality, and both the tea and coffee were undrinkable. I would never go there again, and would not recommend it to anyone.

This was a great small local hotel very close to centre of city in easy walking distance of main areas. Great local character and no pretensions. The price matches the product. The staff were very helpful, including allowing me to store & work on my bike in the courtyard. I would stay again for my next visit to Montpellier. But don't expect luxury, and the breakfast is very basic with poor coffee.

Hotel Polygone is conveniently located and we were attracted by the very reasonable price. However the room was tiny, which in itself is no problem, however the paper thin walls meant we could hear every time the people next to us rolled over in bed as well as an overly amorous couple two floors above. Along with the small flies buzzing around the bathroom, the plumbing in our shower had some serious issues and we had to turn the water off every 15 seconds or else it would overflow onto the floor. The room had a nice balcony but overall we just never felt comfortable and ended up leaving after one night. Even for the price the hotel is a little disappointing.

We selected a twin room; had booked for 6 nights; left after the first night. Hotel clean but far smaller and farther away than anticipated. Were willing to pay for breakfast - was instant, microwaved coffee (in France?) and one petit pain + croissant each... One problem was that the city was far hiller than expected, and the distance as the crow flies bears no relationship to the distance and difficulty of walking... and having just had foot surgery, we opted for a hotel nearer the Place de la Comedie.

Despite some mixed reviews on Venere.com, our stay in the hotel was very pleasant. We were two females traveling alone for vacation. The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem we encountered were ants in our bathroom. We notified the front desk and I don't think any immediate measures were taken. My stay was short in the hotel. I was just stopping over for the night due to the trains. As it was dark when I got in, I didn't manage to find the hotel as easily as I thought it would and the check-in was closing in half an hours time. However, the staff came out to get me after I failed to find the place after check-in hours. That was a really nice gesture especially for a female travelling alone. Much much appreciated!!! In actualty, the hotel IS literally 5 minutes away from the train station, in the dark, everything just gets harder to find. The room is clean and the bed is comfy. I would definitely recommend this place if you're on a budget and need a place close to the station.

To be blunt, I've spent less and got better in the past. The room was clean, however the smell of some sort of air freshener or detergant was unbearible. The room was tiny and the bed was horrible. The matress was very soft and had a plastic mattress protector on it (the type used on toddlers beds). This is an unaceptable way to do bussines. We arrived tired after a long trip and the room was soo dirty, with towels in the bathfloor. Even the bed was unprepared. This was so umpleasent that we tried to be moved to another room but the manager of the "hotel" told us it should be imposible. So we inmediatly went out of such a please, of course losing the money we paid. Even when we asked for writting a public demand the manager refuse it. Fortunetly we now french people is nice and kind in most of cases. Anyway I will recomend to most of my colleagues and friends not to book any more in your web site, as our vacations has had an unhappy end. Thank you for your attention. Sixta Ramos Gonzalez. Madrid. The staff were friendly and helpfull, the room was small the toilet seat was completely broken. The room was very hot with no AC or fans. I think you pay extra for TV as it wont turn on and remote. breakfast is not included. It is close to the train station but there is a lot of construction to confuse on arrival. We had to sleep with the windows and room door open to try to cool the room down and I think it is the noisiest part of the city all hours!!!

A very adequate holtel for the purpose of my 2 night stay on my own. The room was clean although the hallways were grubby. No breakfast available. Perfect location to explore the interesting town of Montpellier.

This hotel is mediocre, I've tacken pictures I would like to send you, very cold (16°c) during the night with the heather on max, no toilet paper at our arriving, painting destroy on the wall, hole on covers, no heather on the bathroom, very cold. the price on the web page was 87€ for 2 days, I paid 90€.a lot of noise on the morning, because there is a family with childre who live in the next room, smell of food.the toilets toals were not changed for the second night.I would like to receive a compensasion of 50% of my built. My girlfriend was in Motpellier for a very important exam and she didn't sleep as very cold, and all problems written her, it was a disaster !Please contact me back by e mail, i would like to receive your reply .URGENT.

Hotel Polygone is a nice, small hotel where you can stay very well for a few days. We stayed there for 2 days and I would choose this hotel once more. Only the breakfast was very poor. Very good price/quality relationship.

It`s more a youth-hotel, but for only sleeping and having a room it`s sufficient. The only thing, there is no doushe-curtain, and because everything is very small, elder people could have some problems. The location is not in the best quartier, but it`s located near to the tram, near to the ancient city and also near to the modern city. So all in all it was OK and for the 3 days a good price/quality relationship. The breakfast is for 5 € enough, but not like we have breakfast in Germany with cheese and egg and sausage.

The relationship between price and quality isn't really good because of the cleanliness of rooms and of common part is BAD

Hotel Polygone is just outside of the center city (make sure and ask directions before you get there). The staff was wonderful and we couldn't of asked for a nicer place for the price we paid. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Cannes is beautiful and this hotel helps you do it all without breaking your budget.
