The Rifugio Prategiano is a wonderful place for vacationers in Tuscany wanting a peaceful location. We unfortunately were only able to stay for one night due to our travel plans. The on site restaurant served very good food. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return in future trips to Italy but hopefully for longer.

Nettes kleines Landhotel in sehr ruhiger Lage, aber doch nicht so abgelegen wie viele andere "Agriturismo". Das Dorf Montieri erreicht man zu Fuß in 5 Minuten. Recht viel scheint sich dort seit dem Mittelalter nicht verändert zu haben. Das gemächliche Dorfleben vom Straßencafé aus zu beobachten ist diesen Spaziergang wert. Die Hotelzimmer sind auf 2 Gebäude verteilt und offensichtlich recht unterschiedlich groß. Wir hatten ein relativ kleines Zimmer, dafür aber mit fantastischer 100 km weiter Aussicht Trotzdem man dem Haus ein gewisses Alter ansieht, wirkt die ganze Anlage gut gepflegt. Die Heizung ist kurz ausgefallen, wurde aber sofort repariert. Im hübschen Restaurant hat man die Wahl zwischen 2 Menüs und einer kleinen Speisekarte. Unser Wildschweinragou und die toskanische Gemüsesuppe waren sehr lecker. Praktisch ist, dass man beim Frühstück entscheiden kann, ob man am Abend essen möchte. Wir haben natürlich auch einige Restaurants in der Gegend probiert. Meist recht gut, aber teurer als im Hotel. Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr nett und gibt Unmengen von Tipps für die Tagesgestaltung. Es waren einige Reiter und Mountain Biker im Hotel, die von den Touren geschwärmt haben. Unser Aktivprogramm bestand nur aus Spaziergang zum Gipfelkreuz des "Poggio di Montieri" und einer Massage im Wirlpool. Der große Pool und die Nächte (toller Sternenhimmel) waren im April noch recht kalt. Wir haben uns vorgenommen, einmal im Sommer hierher zurückzukommen.
