Hotel Sangallo - Sant'Albino, Montepulciano
Via Dei Fiori 30 Sant Albino Di Montepulciano - Montepulciano
877-662-6988Due to its central position, the hotel Sangallo, is the ideal place to enjoy the Tuscan countryside and its tiny medieval villages.
The owner have to change the towels (all of them!!) Very old and can not be used. The pillows are also very old and so hard, that we had stiff neck in the morning.

Nice place, but not the easiest to find, so you should plan to arrive during daylight hours. Friendly staff and great breakfast! I would stay here again!

Convenient parking and reception at all hours, mattress could have been more comfortable, cozy and not-too-fancy decor, spacious room, tv with plenty of channels in case I couldn't sleep :^)

It was a wonderful experience - feeling at home in a foreign place. The whole family contributed to a wonderful stay in Tuscany - we have sweet memories - they even packed us some cake for our teatime picnic on our journey further.

The hotel is located in a village 10 mins driving distance from Montepulciano. While the room was very spacious and the bathroom a good size for Italy, the shower stall in the bathroom was so small that even I (at 5ft 120lbs) found it difficult to move without hitting the wall or the door. The extra blankets were a little dusty and the breakfast was beyond bad - stale croissants, smelly salami and prosciutto that seemed a little off. The only sliver lining to breakfast was good coffee. Despite all of this, the place was okay for our one-night stay and the hotel staff was very helpful. Since there were no elevators, the hotel staff carried our bags to the third floor.

We find this hotel a good option for travellers that don´t mind driving another 10-15 min (to the next satellite town) to reach Montepulciano-a very pleasant toscan twon, beautifully located. The road leading to the hotel is actually very nice- including a panoramic view of the old town. The hotel is very spacious and clean and the manager (Mr Claudio) is a VERY nice man, breakfast was better than in many other hotels of similar category in Toscany. The only thing I did not like was the abusive use of ceramics everywhere, which makes the hotel sort of "cold". But this should not dettract travellers from considering this option at all, if they cannot find alternative accomodation for equivalent price, just outside Montepulciano. I don´t think it is advisable to seek for this hotel at nightime, because the indications in the main road are not so obvious, one must drive slowly -it can be tricky to see the narrow street leading to it (the hotel is not visible from the main road- on the other hand this is advantageous, because the traffick noise is mitigated). The owners should be aware that the mattress is not as firm as it should be. This is unpleasant for guests that unfortunately have back problems. perhaps they should consider investing on stiffer beds (at least for some people) in the future. Overall, it was a nice stay, as in all places that we visited in peaceful Toscan.

Hotel Sangallo is a delightful place. It is family run, and they do it well. They are helpful and accomodating. The public areas, inside and outside, are very pleasant spaces. The rooms are spacious, and CLEAN, and the beds very comfortable. It is ideally located to do side trips to Tuscany and Umbria. A most pleasant experience. TLM

The hotel closes between 1pm and 3pm so if you're arriving around that time, which we did, you have to wait until they arrive. Also they leave for the night at 9pm. and don't return until the next morning. The church bell chimes every 15 minutes 24 hours a day, which is very near.

A good hotel to this price. If you want to explore this beautiful area of Italy by car and not live too expensive, this is a good place to shower and sleep. The rooms are spacious and clean, but with old 70's furniture. We did not have any problems with noise because the hotel wasn't fully booked, but we noticed that noise go easily through the walls. I recommend the dinner of the hotel, good and traditional food to a fair price: €16 for home made pasta, a second course and fruit (recommended to make a reservation some hours in advance to let the staff do their preparations).

Our trip took us to Rome,Florence and Venice staying in 3 star accomodations. I cannot believe Sangallo was a two star. It was far superior to any other. This hotel has a very nice panorama, we saw the Lakes and the Valley from our room (number 26). Breakfast was very good with the best coffee of our holiday. Don't hesitate book a room in this hotel preferable with balcony.Good price.

The property proved very difficult to get to,requiring a combination of trains and buses, the latter not equipped for handling travellers with luggage, so I was very stressed by the time I arrived. The Hotel needs to be more communicative with arriving guests to ensure the most convenient and effective directions are provided. Once there, however,I found the personnel of this family run Hotel very pleasant and accommodating, and I actually stayed longer than planned.

The view was beautifull, but in the night it was noisy by the road near the hotel. We didn't have towell when we arrive in the room. We have to look for someone to give some.

THE HEAT WAS TURNED OFF AND THE WATER WAS LUKE WARM AFTER 5 MINUTES. THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED FOR THE LOW SEASON SO WE HAD A COFFEE AND A PACKAGED BRIOCHE FOR BREAKFAST. It seemed like we were an inconvenience since there were only a few people staying at the hotel and it was the off season. It looks like this might be a nice place in the high season, but if it is even a little bit cold forget it. The dining room was colder than our room--- we had 3 shirts and our jackets on and were still cold. The price 85 euro for a quad (more than $100 with the exchange rate!!) is ridiculous for this type of service. Good luck.

Excellent hotel for a one night stay (traveling through). We recommend for dinner the local restaurant Super Pizza, just up the road to Montepulciano. Excellent pizza for a great price.

Quiet little hotel. We had a small problem to find the hotel. The place is quiet and the staff is friendly. We only stayed for one night when travelling through Italy, but the surrounding area is promising for a longer stay.

The Sangallo was a great value. We only had a few days to spend in Tuscany, and this was a very economical, centrally located "home base". Get a room on the side with views--they're wonderful, and come with a large balcony. It's a little noisy from the traffic, but we slept through it just fine. We had lunch one day at the hotel, and it was excellent--a home-cooked "real" Italian feast.

Situated at a 20 minute drive from Montepulciano, this hotel is also located right next to a major road. Since it doesn't offer air conditioning good luck if you are dreaming of a quiet night sleep! Breakfast was basic. Coffee ans croissant. The staff was friendly and helpfull
