If you drive (which you most likely will) it is NOT AN EASY-ON / EASY-OFF. We chose this hotel because it appeared it would be located close to one of the service areas on the A1... but, again, it is NOT. While the directions are good, you have to drive about 30 minutes from either direction on the A1 to get there (and then 30 minutes back to the highway). We did it at night, and the backroads were tough to negotiate. It would be easy to get lost here. One thing that made us uncomfortable is they made us surrender our passports for the night. All the other hotels we stayed at, they asked us to come back and pick up our passports after filling out the appropriate forms, but here they insisted we wait until the morning at check-out. The rooms are standard, and considering the location, probably not worth the price.

This hotel is not in Montepulciano but in Montepulciano Stazione - some 7 kilometers away on the south-bound lanes of the A1 autostrada which means the hotel gets a lot of coach clients. The rooms are fairly standard three star rooms and the breakfast pretty good quality. The staff here are very good and helpful.

The Hotel is in Montepulciano Stazione, a little district in the heart of Val di Chiana (the Chiana Valley) and only 7 km from Montepulciano historical center.

To reach us: 1) For those coming from Northen Italy we suggest taking the "Valdichiana" exit off the A1, turning right and following signs to Perugia, taking the "Cortona-Foiano" exit off the "superstrada" and following the directions for Chianacce and Valiano and susequently Montepulciano Stazione.

2) For those coming from Southen Italy we suggest taking the "Chiusi-Chianciano" exit off the A1, turning right and following the signs for Chiusi, after about three km turning left for Montallese and Acquaviva di Montepulciano and then following the directions for Montepulciano Stazione.
