About Hotel Villa Pambuffetti

exterior Hotel Villa Pambuffetti exterior A breathtaking 360° panoramic view spans from Spoleto to Perugia including such picturesque towns as Spello and Assisi. Surrounded by a 10,000 square - yard garden filled with old trees, Villa Pambuffetti keeps its original intimacy and architecture unaltered, in addition to all the comforts afforded by its recently restored structure.

Elegant and secluded, the Villa is carefully furnished with old family pieces of the highest quality. The Villa is family-run by Mrs Pambuffetti Argantina and her daughter Alessandra with her husband Mauro. During summer evenings, a charming open gallery offers the guest a change to taste typical umbrian specialities, such as olive oil, truffles, legumes...., while sipping the renowed "Sagrantino" wine and listening to a local pianist.

Cooking classes by Alessandra are held on request for small groups, classes include the preparation of typical umbrian dishes.

The twelve soundproof rooms and three suites all have direct line telephones, line - radio, satellite television, minibar, safe, hair - dryer and of course, en suite bathrooms. Villa Pambuffetti offers reading and living rooms, banquet-hall, meeting rooms, bars. Riding school 3 miles away - Golf-course 20 miles away - S.Egidio Airport 13 miles away.

Construction of the "Villa" began in the early 1800s, but the villa as seen today was completed a century later as final additions were made. The Villa is located in Montefalco, the small town, beautifully placed on top of a 1,500- foot hill, revealing unexpected artistic treasures, such as stunning renaissance paintings by Perugino, Melanzio, Gozzoli, Niccolò and Tiberio of Assisi.

During the Easter period, the Winetasting Week takes place, with stands and stalls featuring DOC and DOCG wines of Montefalco, Umbrian wines and other Italian wines. Every summer there is the Montelfalco August festival, with stalls, concerts, theatre and traditional costumes which concludes with the traditional "Fuga del Bove".

Location of Hotel Villa Pambuffetti, Montefalco

Hotel Villa Pambuffetti - map

map

The hill of Montefalco is the highest (743 m.) of the hills found in the valley between Assisi and Spoleto. Montefalco itself is an old fortified city with walls surrounding it and five doors that provide access to the city; the doors, the winding laneways and the ancient churches give the impression of timelessness, of an atmosphere suspended in time. Facing the ancient circular piazza are the old City Buildings and the ex-Church of S. Filippo Neri (XVIII Century) which is today a theatre.
There is complete harmony between the history and culture of Montefalco in the Museum of S. Francesco. Outside the city walls the are densely planted fields that have grown up around the ancient fortifications.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay in Villa Pambuffetti. The villa is very charming, quiet and at 2 minutes from the medieval town of Montefalco. Having breakfast in the morning in the villa’s park, surrounded by ancient trees and bird chirping was a fantastic experience per se. The dinner room is romantic, the food was good and so was the service. Ask Mauro to suggest a bottle of wine, he is knowledgeable and very funny. The villa is family owned and for sure you will receive a great Italian welcoming. I definitely recommend Villa Pambuffetti.

Lovely location in its own park and about a 5 minute stroll from the village, which has a wealth of bars and restaurants - useful since the hotel's own restaurant is often not open. Very warm welcome and helpful staff. Nice pool setting, though the water was very warm when we were there in July. Overall would definitely recommend the hotel and the village.

Very welcoming and friendly, a haven of peace and tranquility. A short walk from Montefalco with restuarants and wine tasting, which is usefull because the restaurant only appears to open on the whim of the chef (2 out of 4 nights). An excellent hotel and location.

Absolutely beautiful architecture, decor, and grounds. The entire staff was gracious and welcoming...seemed more like staying at a personal friend's home than a hotel.
