Hotel Puccini - Montecatini Terme

We were very happy with this hotel overall. Montecatini Terme is a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone. If coming by train be sure to get off at the Montecatini Centro stop ( not the one called Montecatini-Terme). The hotel was lovely, the receptionists spoke good english and always remembered us and our room number (which was nice). The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was fairly decent and was served in a lovely dining room with personalized tables. The only problem we ran into at this hotel was being accused of chipping the porcelain in the bathtub. We did not feel like the proprietors believed our innocence so that put a damper on the stay but otherwise a great spot. Virtually everything is within walking distance. A beautfil tourist town. Make sure you visit Montecatini Alto while you are there. We enjoyed a pizzeria in the main square (near the fountain) which we can't remember the name of but it began with an R and had a nice outdoor patio.

From the train station we walked straight up to the main square. There were policemen at the corner and they directed us to take a left. At the pharmacy, take another left and you are on Corsa Roma. The reception was warm and friendly. The room was decorated stylishly. They were so accomodating. They advised us to take the cure before breakfast. So early the next morning, we walked to the place, and even though it was past 10 a.m when we returned, they held breakfast for us. It was great. The dining room is a pale yellow with pink peony type flowers - so pretty. The staff is very friendly and gracious. They even have a live band playing Lawrence Welk type music and some of the guests were dancing in the lobby - it was cute and festive. Once you get to your room, you can't hear a thing.
