Hotel Astoria - Montecatini Terme

Excellent garden and pool. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good.Rooms rather small and in need of an overhaul. Best local restaurant - left out of hotel, about half a mile up the road on the right. Try the room at the back.

It was mom & my first time in montacatini terme. we were celebrating her 78th birthday. it was my first trip to italy. mom has been to italy many times but this was our 1st mom/daughter trip.being of italian desent we had planned a trip here for a long time, my great grandmother came to montacatini terme for the waters. this hotel was so charming, the staff was so kind and really paid attention to my room request. our only regret was that we were only here for 2 nights. when i"ve had a hard day i close my eyes & think of this charming refuge in tuscany. can't wait to return to this cozy welcoming home away from home.

We stayed 6 nights at the Astoria and really enjoyed being at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful - we needed another chair for our balcony and that was provided immediately. The buffet breakfasts were fantastic with loads of choice: fruit juice, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, cheese, cereals, rolls, yoghurt etc and it was lovely sitting in the garden to eat. The pool was very peaceful and perfect after a day sightseeing. Our room was nice too, with very welcome air conditioning. Montecatini is a lovely town with lots to do and it is easy to walk to the train station to get to Florence, Lucca and Pisa. It was just a bit far for us to get to Siena, but you could do if you went very early. Montecatini Alto is great too with nice restaurants. We found hardly any food shops in Montecatini so we ended up buying our lunches at the towns we visited. There is a big supermarket but we didn't have a car so it was quite a trip to get there.

The swimming pool is great! The food is excellent too! The employees are very friendly. enjoyed to stay in this hotel!

Good location to access Florence,Lucca,Pisa and coast by good, cheap train links.

Traditional Italian hotel, family run and very friendly. Half Board great value as food and wine choices very good. Great location in quieter area next to Park, and within a few minutes of funicolar. Don't be put off the traditional decor, but a room with a refurbished bathroom would be recommended. Pool factilities and bathing area also very good. Thanks to Tom and Irene for the recommendation.

The front desk, bar, and resaurant people were wonderful. room cleanliness was unacceptable. overall, this hotel is tired, worn.

Elegant, gracious, old and totally updated hotel in park like setting. Ideal for a quiet , relaxing stay with an attentive, competent staff and owner family.
