Good Hotel, but a little bit too expensive, There's no pool, no wi-fi in the room, and the bathroom isn't so beautiful it's just clean. I mean everithing was good, but for the price we spent maybe there's better.

Pros: . large rooms, with small living room and kitchen . amazing views . nice patios . nice receptionist Cons: . bathrooms a bit in need of renovation . at least off season breakfast is a joke: we were offered a choice between sugary croissants and cookies, with some sugary fruit juice... neither I nor my wife can eat sugar. Forget fresh break, cereals, fruit, etc. . bit isolated, you will need a car to go to places

Wonderful place with the only downterm of the beach. There is no place to swim in that beautiful sea, only a small pier. A little bit too small.

Terrific front desk staff. The breakfast server was also most attentive to our needs. The room were large and clean and to our surprise, they had a kitchen area. The location of the hotel is very scenic, on top of a small hill. The only disappointing part was the beach, since it was a pier off very large rocks and not the best spot for my young grandson. We, my daughter and I, highly recommend it for a relaxing and care free vacation.

Delightful quiet location (though take care on the narrow bridge at the entrance)with beautiful views over the bay. Large, comfortable rooms; welcoming and helpful staff. Swimming from private jetty / platform. Only drawback was that the restaurant was closed on 2 nights of our stay - though it was out of season. Outside the town so you really need a car.

We stayed at the end of September and the weather was wonderful. We thought the hotel was fantastic. We had a suite overlooking the sea (room with sea view) and a double balcony. The staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel was clean, quiet and well situated. We ate in twice and the food was very good but we thought a little expensive. It was a slight disadvantage to have to drive out for dinner but there were plenty of good places to eat in Porto Stefano but you better like fish. We were lucky that the hotel was not busy as we thought it could be a problem in high season. Don't think it would be good for children or infirm as its a very steep way down to the water. We most certainly will go back.

We had a wonderful stay at Filippo. We had a sea view room with a balcony where we could see the sunrise every day. They have a landing where you can sit and sunbathe. The restaurant is just 'ok', but the city of Porto Santo Stefano is just 5 minutes away by car with good restaurants. Contrary to what we though, there wasn't any internet connection. Staff was courteous, overall stay was excellent.

We arrived in the evening from Cortona on our way back to Rome, staying over only the one night. The hotel was fantastic, clean, rooms spacious, views were great and very comfortable.Considering we were travelling with three young children, we all got up the next day completely refreshed. Definitely will go back there again.

Hotel not well signposted and had difficulty locating it.Excellent accommodation and very friendly welcome. Lovely hotel but not much to do in the immediate the area. Restaurant left a lot to be desired. Food was mediocre and the head waiter completely lacking in personality.

We had a wonderful stay at Albergo Filippo II. We are strongly considering returning for a longer period of time. The staff was excellent, cooperative, helpful, and were very freindly. I would suggest to other travellers that 3 days is not long enough to stay.

We arrived (2 couples in our Fifties) after a long few days of travelling at 1 am in the morning. We were to spend two nights. We were tired and the place was so beautiful that we wanted to spend another night. The girl( Alaureia ) worked hard to get us an extra night on the weekend. It was a great place and we were treated wonderfully. (Try La Busala for dinner) We hope to go back some day.

Very comfortable hotel with pleasant swimming deck. Difficult to reach without a car, which is not clear from the web site. You can get to Porto Santo Stefano on foot (a 25min walk through tunnels) and by bus, but it is not especially easy. You need to be able to get out because the public areas of the hotel have no atmosphere and the restaurant is a little dull and pricey compared to the offerings in town.

The hotel is very nice - as presented on the website and more. On top, the staff is extremely helpful and really make sure you will remember your stay. They know the places, so trust their recommendations for restaurants and other bookings and tips. Highly recommended.

Nearby by car to the porto santo stefano. We donnot recommend monte argentario at all. The hotel was too expensive comparing to what it was offering to the customers.Mediocre.

The hotel is nicely positioned on a cape just before Porto S.Stephano. The location is picturesque and quiet, the town with its restaurants and entertainment is just 5 minutes away by car; the hotel has its own wooden sundeck, towards which you will have to descend down a rather steep slope for about 4 minutes. However, this is nicer than "beach hotels" in the area which have a busy autoroute between them and the sea. The views are nice, the restaurant is ok but it is better to go to Porto Santo Stefano, where we discovered a great place called La Bussola - no view, no fancy design, but absolutely fantastic food, friendly service and the best prices for the catch of the day and wine. No other place had similar price/quality characteristics. We were never disappointed, unlike after visiting posh-looking places with a view in the harbour. The hotel has some boat hiring facilities in the close vicinity, and the ferry station to Giglio and Giannutri, the adjacent picturesque islands, is close by. We had a suite with 2 rooms and a spacious veranda with a sea view; the hotel has 2 parking lots and a very pretty and well kept territory.

The room was very spacious, and our view was awesome. waking up and enjoying the sunrise on our own deck was definitely a treasured memory. reception/check-in was easy, the staff escorted us to the room, explained everything. We wish we could of utilized the kichenette, as we only stayed one night, it didn't work out. We did have dinner at the hotel resteraunt, and it was good. The servings were a good size for the price, and the wait staff was accomodating. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, and very fresh.

We spent an overnight on our way from Tuscany to Rome. We were in the off season which was a plus and a minus. The plus was the lower cost. The minus was the restaurant was closed. However, that encouraged us to visit the harbor town. It was really fun and exciting. A very colorful fishing port. As Americans, we felt we were in a truly Italian town with few other western tourists. The room had a wonderful view and the help was friendly and helpful. The guide books ignore this colorful little island. They are missing a nice change of pace destination.
