the swimming pool is nice, but no view on the lake. We didn't want to eat at night, we prefered go outside and we found a very nice trattoria about 6 kms further.

Super Hotel mit sehr netten Leuten - besonders schön fand ich die großen Balkone mit dem tollen Blick. Auch der Pool ist 1a! Zur Nebensaison echtes Schnäppchen und Geheimtipp. Komme gerne wieder :)

A big thank you to the staff of Riva del Sol we had another great stay at this hotel. The staff could not do enough for us. The dinner each evening was excellent value. The view our rooms was beautiful and the hotel is just a short walk to the lake and harbour of Moniga. Can't wait to go back. It is advisable to hire a car to make the most of this area at this time of year.

Receptionist had our number of nights stay incorrect on arrival. Fortunately I brought paperwork to prove it. Asked about swimming pool. It is currently shut - we were told to swim in the lake. Building works going on - woken up at 8am each day. View over balcony would have been lovely if the building trucks hadn't ruined the view. Restaurant was empty every night of the stay. Never suceeded in getting an up to date menu. The village is served by a bus every two hours and infrequent boats, making travelling without a car difficult. Charged 2 euros for booking a taxi! Overall for the cost it was disappointing.

We were not prepared to arrive at a building site, which was effectively what happened. The Hotel was having an extension built at the time of our visit. On one occasion we had to leave the balcony hastily because a crane was swinging dangerously close to our heads. We did have a good view of Lake Garda and [thankfully] the ferry was within easy walking distance of the Hotel, as there was absolutely nothing going on in Moniga del Garda itself. Ignoring the location of the Hotel, there are some lovely towns accessible by car or ferry. Sirmione was particularly nice, although very 'touristy'. We ate in the Hotel on our first evening and the food was fine. The only other diners appeared to be members of the hotel senior management, who glared at us, before ignoring us. I asked reception to post 2 postcards for us - they never arrived at their destinations. We would visit Lake Garda again, but not this town and not this Hotel.

We stayed over the Easter weekend ( 2 adults ) The room and bath were very spacious, nice and clean - However the competence of the staff and, especially, the restaurant and bar service provided have nothing to share with a 4 star hotel ( frankly these would be poor even for a 3 star place ) - The structure and its view front of the lake deserve a better staff at reception and a completely different restaurant and bar service - Bear in mind!!!!

We could not fault this hotel in any way. The food was superb and the service equally so. We will certainly return there.

We had a lovely few days at Riva del Sole. The staff could not have been more helpful. We had dinner every evening which for 20 euros per person including wine and water was excellent value. There was a choice of menu each night and all were delicious (our complements to the chef)! Antonio the waiter gave excellent service. We will be back next year.

Stayed 4 nights. Had only booked 2 but loved it so much stayed as long as we could. Would recommend this hotel to anybody.

The Hotel was excellent for our requirements ( overnighter reasonably close to Verona Brescia Airport before setting out to explore Tuscany etc). I do not rate Moniga del Garda itself too highly, compared for example to Malcesine.
