We would not return to Modena. An afternoon's visit is sufficient. We met young musicians on tour.

Very good location between the station and the Duke's palace. At the back of the hotel you get woken by the sound of cadet officers going through their paces in the park behind, but it's more entertaining than anything else. My only quibble with the price is that it trebled on my second day but I am told this is becuase of a big trade fair in Bologna (market forces). There was a pretty foul smell in the room on the first day but they offered to move me. All in all, not bad.
