Big Hotels Venezia - Hotel Riviera dei Dogi - Mira Porte

Very basic hotel. Rooms and toilets need lot of work. Far off from business end of Venice- about an hour by bus. Not suitable for families with children.

Nice and comfortable hotel. Nice breakfast and good staff. Disturbing local traffic during the nights.

The exterior of the hotel is bad but inside the things are o.k.If you like country life the surroundings is great.Pretty close from Venice ,18 km,(i travel by my car).Breakfast verry poor,don't take it ,you'l loose 6 euro.Parking o.k Overall ,good for a short stop.

The staff was very helpful, even allowing us to use the computer at the office. The room is big and simple. Hotel surroundings are very peaceful and quiet. It was a nice stay

The hotel was difficult to find. A broken bridge and detour did not help. Our (from Germany) GPS system did not have enough detail outside Germany. So much of a united Europe. Once found with the help of phone, location is a good for a stepping stone to explore Venice by bus.

A media hora de Venecia en el autobús C4. Paisaje bonito en el que está ubicado el hotel y zona tranquila. En la habitación no pudimos utlizar los enchufes aunque el lavabo dispone de secador. Calidad-precio aceptable. El precio del desayuno no está incluido en la reserva.

We had a fantastic stay at the Riviera dei dogi. The hotel and surrounds were beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Top marks for the hotel. We got quality accomodation a short bus ride (between 20 to 40 minutes, depending on time of day and bus route) outside Venice. We would stay here again. Grazie

The ladies at the reception were remarkingly nice and helpful, their English was very good so communication was easy. A little problem with the electricity in the room was solved fast and so I can only give best marks for being cared for. The room wasn't too spacey, but contained everything I needed, the everything was very clean and working. A quiet, historic place with brilliant bus connection to Venice and Padova, cheap and easy. Highly recommendable.

We recommend that a second floor room be requested. We had one that was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathrom facilities were excellent, with all new fixtures. The staff was very helpful and even allowed us internet access through the hotel's computer. We highly recommend the restaurant next door--Trattoria Del Vida--The food and service were excellent. We reccomend eating here, rather than in Vencie, both for quality and price. The Riviera di Brenta was pleasant surprise--a must see for the mansions in the area.

Leider war eine Baustelle in unmittelbarer Hotelnähe und daher die erstmalige Zufahrt zum Hotel schwer zu finden. Der Grund für meinen Aufenthalt in Mira war der Besuch der Biennale in Venedig.

Bathroom was added-up without particular care

The Hotel was fine, the issues I had were it was too far from Venice for me. I didn't enjoy the bus ride to get to and from Venice. The description of the Hotel mentions an approximate distance from Venice. Whatever the distance, I think it takes away from the experience. As a result, we opted to check out early and stay in a different Hotel. Word of caution, The hotel still charged us for the days we did not stay in the Hotel. I think they could have given us a break and only charged us for the days we stayed. They did not, I even tried to contact the management and received no response. So if you want to be close to Venice, I would stay elsewhere. However, If Venice is not your destination, then hotel is fine, it's clean, they serve breakfast, and it's in a quiet neighborhood. It didn't seem as though there was much to do near by, but the Restaurant next door was Outstanding. Another tip for this hotel is to request a room on the 2nd floor, if you can manage the stairs. We found the room on the 1st floor was too dark for us and the ones on the 2nd floor allow for more natural light to come into the rooms.

I expected that we would find a restaurant at the hotel. It wasn't. But found an Osteria at 100 meters beyond. A very good and typical one.

Bathroom very very small, too small hotel quiet, very near of Venise (half hour by bus)

It was a wonderful weekend, the staff very nice, charming and helpful. the rooms absolute quiet, only the showers (as many in italy) were covering the floor of the bathroom with water all over. But: I would book it again. Only 15-20min by car to Piazzale Roma.

When we arrived there was loud maintenance blocking our path to our room. We had to make several trips for luggage, having them move equipment each time. The bathroom could have been nicer - it was small and the only shower option was standing in the floor with a curtain pulled around. We found the staff to be aloof and, at times, unfriendly. Some of the evening staff were borderline rude. Don't think we would choose this property again. Road noise started very early and was quite loud.

Great location, near restaurant, post office, bicycle hire. Also near bus stop to do a day trip into Venice. That was particularly handy. Decor of the rooms was lovely but I wouldn't stay there again only because of the shower. The bathroom was tiny (and that was after they kindly moved us to a bigger room) and had no screen. As a result, water ends up all over the bathrrom floor and we had to build a bridge made out of towels just to walk to the toilet. Quite good value for money but don't do it if you like a good bathroom. Mira has plenty of old villas which have been turned into hotels which may be pricey but look gorgeous from the outside. These may be a better option. Maybe search for accommodation in the Riveria Del Brenta in general as there are a few similar towns along the river all serviced by the bus. However, I should say that the restaurant right next to the hotel was the nicest we went to during our week in italy.

Room smaller than expeted,not as shown in the photos on the wed site. Also one wall of the room, on the outside formed part of tight, blind bend at which every car sounded there horn. Poor Breakfast Bar. However we would return.

Al llegar al hotel, por un error en la anotación de la reserva, no tenía habitaciones disponibles. El personal se encargó amablemente de solucionarlo de forma rápida y eficaz de forma que la primera noche estuvimos en otro hotel cercano que -aunque de la misma categoría- era a nuestro juicio algo peor y con menos encanto. El trato del personal del "Riviera del Dogi" y las informaciones facilitadas fueron excelentes. Las habitaciones son amplias y perfectamente amuebladas. Por poner alguna pega decir que el desayuno es inferior al resto de prestaciones del hotel. Conclusión, hotel muy recomendable para pasar unos días en Venecia y alrededores fuera del agobio de la ciudad, en un establecimiento de calidad y a precios adecuados.

Forse i letti dovrebbero essere un pò più larghi! Almeno nell'albergo gemello dove siamo stati inviati. Ad ogni modo nel complesso un' ospitalità eccellente.

A really nice place to stay.

Our rooms faced the river which is beautiful. There are also beams in the rooms which make them very homey and cozy. The rooms are very small and there are no suites available. Therefore, we had to run back and forth in order to tend to the children. It is a very convenient location from Venice. No elevators!!
