Hotel Garibaldi - Milazzo

Hotel Garibaldi is a traditional Scicilian Hotel which although updated with good decor is full of dark wood fittings making the rooms seem dark. The room we stayed in overlooked a pleasant garden and was clean. The receptionist on our arrival was not particularly welcoming. That said the male receptionist who was on duty both in the evening and first thing in the morning was very helpful and tried hard to answer our questions despite that he spoke almost no english what so ever. As noted by other guests the hotel is quite a distance from the city centre and just below the castle. This did have the benefit that nearby we found a excellent fish restaurant which only sold what the local fishermen caught and was frequented by locals. Would we stay there again, probably not.

This is a fine base for a day trip to the Aeolian Islands. The staff were competent but reserved. The breakfast was excellent.

An really excellent hotel, it overlooks the port at the front and the old city and hotel gardens at the back. It is within walking distance of high quality shops and bars and yet is in a quiet location. Can't do any better than that!!

We very much liked the hotel and the position. Beautiful spacious room, classic building recently refurbished. Before booking we read the feedback on the Venere website for the hotel and noticed that a previous visitor to the hotel had made note of the poor attitude of the receptionist, we rather thought that it would be a one-off, that was not the case.On our arrival the receptionist was off-hand and grumpy -we felt like we shouldn't have been asking for a room! The room we booked was described as an appartment but was a conventional hotel room, there did appear to be appartments belonging to the hotel in the building. I did ask the receptionist about it but she just gave us another room with a seaview. Perhaps the appartments weren't available in low season, but it would be helpful to know that on the website. I must say we had booked to stay at the same place on our return journey and the reception we received then was totally different- I think the previous girl was on holiday!!

The hotel is very stylish in its interiors and furniture.All brand new and beautiful. It was quite surprising because coming from the outside it doesn't look particularly appealing. Stunnigly clean. Fantastic breakfast with excellent choice of food and fresh fruit. Only negative point was the receptionist. She could not care less about us. Very unpolite and non professional at all, only interested in phoning to her friends, which is fine if you're not waiting to check in. We asked few info about the town and she was completely unhelpful. Awful service.

Trustworty, beautifully placed.

Rooms are really spacious and clean. The room on the street are a bit noisy but it is acceptable. It is close to the port and all facilties.
