Apparently the location within the vicinity (close to) the train station is a dump. Lots of construction and very old/dirty looking apartment buildings that they call hotels... the outside looks like a dump and the inside is super tiny. I recommend staying near the Duomo instead for experienced travellers who know how to get about via the metro.

If you are in Milan with no reservation and for only a night or two, this is almost adequate. The upside is that they provide free wi fi and very close to the Central Station, Metro line and Corso Buenos Aires shopping...other than these, the cleaning staff and management need to reconsider the renovating the run down and yes, somewhat dirty ( caulking needs to be replaced) bathrooms, window coverings and walls. The price pretty much goes with what you get....a necessary roof over your head for 70euros, which in Milan is ... However, you are getting what you pay for and NO don't go here if you want more than this.

The hotel was acceptable. It was an easy walk from the train station. It did not feel like it was in the best part of town, but it was not unpleasant. The room was clean and provided a good night's sleep.

A reasonable hotel near the station and metro. The staff were not exactly welcoming. The rooms at the back of the hotel were good but the rooms at the front were very noisy because of the tram traffic. I did not think it lived up to a 4 star rating. The original 3 star would have been better

Spacious, clean room. Quiet. For breakfast, they wanted 7.5 euros. ouch. Good value. I paid 54 euros for a ***. I am now at a ** for 55 euros. The walk from the station took me 20 minutes with by bags. Non-Italian neighborhood. Found a great, inexpensive place to eat nearby called San Giorgio. It's on Schiapparelli 9. Huge pizzas for 4.5-7 euros. Probably 30 varieties. I also ate seafood risotto. It was great for like 7 euros. This where the local FS people eat and I ran into some pilots from United. Very locals' kind of place. Not fancy.

My husband and I used this hotel for 2 nights this month. Our stay was good, except that we had a problem during our stay because we lost our rechargeable Suica Card, a Japanese card for all means of transportation like train, taxi, subway etc. The money in that card was 10,000 yens or about 110 USD. We had the incident reported to the front desk staff requesting them to check with the staff who cleaned our room that day. We were so worried because of what happened and fortunately, the card was returned to us before we left. We we so thankful to get it back, at least before we checked out. The hotel from time to time should check honesty of all staff, whether they can be trusted or NOT. Your room is not secured even if it locked.

This is a very comfortable, conveniently situated hotel - less than 10 mins walk from the Central Station and then about 20 mins on the tube to the Cathedral and other sites. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and everything worked. Breakfast was excellent, and the only improvement we would suggest is a kettle and tea tray in the rooms - but we are a middle aged English couple!

A room a little small but very clean. Excellent location: just steps away from the central station with easy access to all sorts of transportation, many inexpensive bars and restaurants in 1-2 block distance. The last, but not the least: the hotel offers a free wi-fi, a rarity in Italy.

This hotel is in a really seedy part of Milan. I felt uncomfortable walking back to the room at night, which was unpleasant. Also, the room was full of broken or barely functioning items. The safe didn't work, neither did the hair dryer... And the shower didnt drain properly at ALL, leaving you standing in a tub of dirty water by the end of your shower. There was also mildew on the shower walls. On the whole, I did not enjoy the experience and do not recommend this hotel.

My BA flight was cancelled, I then rebooked on a another BA flight the same day but a lot later, that flight too was then cancelled that day. When I called the hotel from London to cancel my booking they said that they could not cancel it as it was booked through Venere. When I called Venere to cancel, they said they could not cancel the booking it was up to the hotel. The hotel refused to cancel the booking, and my credit card was billed. I will NEVER stay at that hotel, or recommend you chance it booking with them. I have taken a walk past the hotel, and it looks terrible from the outside. Would seem that I dodged a bullet. I booked myself into the Starhotels Ritz in Milan. You can rest assured that I will make it my mission to warn people not to stay there. The whole experience also made me reconsider using this web service in the future.

Very good hotel, excellent for the price paid, although perhaps closer to a 3 stars than a 4 stars. Room was a double of reasonable size, with comfortable beds and a good and modern bathroom. Near the central station, this is not a very appealing part of Milan, but very convenient for travellers and with several restaurants open until late.

I had two major problems with this hotel - location and a noisy room. The location was not surprised as it's in the terminal station area. The first room we got was in the front so it was very noisy. also, the bath wasn't very convinient, and the breakfast wasn't what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. But comparing to other options in Milan, and the price, this was an OK option. If the price will be OK, I'll return to this hotel (and ask for a back room)

Habitación y baños amplios y limpios. Buen buffet desayuno.

The hotel is in an Excellent location, in regards to be so close to the Train station. The staff were excellent! I arrived late, due to my flight being delayed and the staff had everything waiting and ready for me, including train times for the next days journey to Venice. A little noisey in the morning, due to tram tracks on the street, but apart from that, the bed was comfortable! And I enjoyed my stay, thank you very much! I would stay there again!!!

This hotel is very easy to find as long as you have a map on hand. It's literally 5 minutes from the train station but because the street names change every few blocks make sure you have a printed map with you. We got a little lost and were told several times that areas just two or three blocks from the hotel (and the train station) were very unsafe areas. The hotel itself seemed fine, but another reason to bring a map, you don't want to stumble into one of these bad neighborhoods.

The area around the main train station is very convenient and safe if not the most elegant. There is a terrific bakery about 1/2 way between the hotel and the train station on the same side of the street. By all means, stop and enjoy. The staff spoke excellent English (and several other languages) which made my English-only husband feel quite welcome. The staff offered a nice map of the area and quick guidance on using the local transportation. Best recommendation from the hotel staff: Take the bus from the train station to the Milan airport. Although the price may change, in Oct 2005, it only cost us 5 euro per person which was a steal! Very comfortable ride. (Note: Speaking Italian here will help you feel more comfortable as the drivers are hired for their ability to drive and not their ability to speak foreign languages.) Did get some cigarette smoke in the room and thought maybe is was wafting up from the outside area below. Once the smoker stopped the air cleared. This was our last (1/2 day stop in Milan) before heading back to the US after 2 weeks in Italy. So, I cannot speak to any of the business needs. The public computer with internet connection in the lobby was down until tomorrow due to a botched upgrade. So, we called to verify flights rather than checking on-line. Not an issue for us. Would stay here again.

The rooms of this new hotel are beautiful, although you’d never know it from the outside. A 5 minute walk from the central train station and along a row of a few other hotels, the old building that houses this hotel looks nondescript. Inside, the rooms are very modern and larger than average and the bathrooms are sparkling with new marble. The breakfast was very tasty and provided more options than a typical European hotel. The staff was very professional and amazingly friendly. I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Milan.
