This is an eclectic style hotel, with competent and helpful staff, in 10 mins walking distance from Duomo, so as in the center, the street is quite noisy when the balcony door is open. The smell of the room was like my grandma's home, stale and musty. There were cigaratte butts in the flowerbed on the balcony otherwise the room was clean. The receptionist offered a 30 Eur overnight parking but parking on the street in the other side of the road was only 13 Eur paid in the parking meter.

We are a couple from hk but with the same room rate. Its the worst hotel in Italy than ever. I feel like I was paying for a two stars hotel/motel European standard 1.Rooms are small and carpet smell bad, looks like no renovation or clear up for ages 2.Receptionist is not helpful, doesn't equip with reasonable conversational English. The lady is better and helpful. I asked for three plastic glasses but the receptionist can't manage it which I needed to adjust in French and went to go down for getting the glasses. Felt very unwelcomed from his face too. 3. Only one room key is available and asked you to hand out your room key whenever you went out. It's fair for security reason. However, when we got back, they didn't verify any details about us. People can sneak in easily.?!!!! 4. The top floor may be a good choice in terms of the view but water is not serviced probably. We got sometimes hot and cold shower, never managed to adjust. It's very annoying

We booked a standard double room, however when i checked their website and exactly the same room is offered as a single room. Toilet and shower is tiny. Staff was not really friendly. The room was on main road, so it was quite noisy from trams and other transport. Good location and clean room though. Had to pay 5 euro to use WI-FI (24 hrs only). If i ever go back to Milan, i would definitely stay somewhere else.

Everything was great when I checked in until the next morning. Check out was 11am, I packed everything and wanted to go to the supermarket so I came downstairs at 9.30am. I asked if I can leave my luggage there and I'll be back in an hour. The receptionist said sure, it's 1 euro "deposit". I couldn't understand why they need a deposit from me but I just did what I was told. Then when I came back at 10.30am, I got my luggage and they didn't give me back my 1 euro. I asked them and they changed the way they say it and said, the 1 Euro is to "deposit" the luggage. Obviously they can get away by saying they haven't mastered English and sorry for the misunderstanding. But what I am most annoyed is that check out wasn't until 11am. They knew I would be back before then, they could have just told me I can leave my luggage in my room and bring it down to check out when I came back from the supermarket. Instead, they just HAD to trick me into giving them 1 extra euro. The luggage wasn't even kept in a safe storage, just all piled in the common area by the wall! Deceiving and inconsiderate! There was no supermarket or convenient store nearby, had to walk to a metro station. There was no water that I could drink as well.

Location of hotel is very convenient - all major sights within easy walking distance and tram is right outside the door. Hotel staff were most helpful, especially Silvia, and their recommended restaurants were very good. Lift is tiny and breakfast finishes at 9.30 which is a bit early on a weekend! Our room was facing a busy street but quiet with windows closed. Take the tram to the Duomo as the street is dull and dusty. There are nice shops and cafes close to the hotel and a great bar around the corner. Good spot to stay for a few days.

This hotel was fine, the staff were helpful, for the money I thought it was good value, clean, modern, good shower (if a little small!), didn't experience the noise some others have mentioned, well located. It would be worth providing more detail on how to get to it, we took the x73 bus as advised but that's not the whole story. When you get to San Babila at the end of the route, you either need a good map to walk it, or get on the Metro M1 red line, 2 stops to Cordiuso then find Via Meravigli, just off of the piazza and walk along it towards Corsa Magenta, hotel on left. It's plenty good enough for the money

The postage-stamp room was clean and tasteful, and for half the price I would be totally satisfied. :) This appears to be a business hotel, and reception staff was not that welcoming or helpful, most likely because of our backpacks and slobby attire. I booked it despite the price because of proximity to Cadorna and Malpensa express, but we could have stayed somewhere just as nice (like Berna, which I'd originally reserved) for far less and taken the metro to cadorna, no big deal.

Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable and the location of the hotel is excellent. The slightly 'old world' atmosphere is extremely welcoming. Milan was our first stop in Italy and the King Monkinba was a fitting start to our hotels and Venere.com experience. Nice hotel very close to major sights of Milan. For the price (which isn't cheap), it's the best deal in the city proper. The staff can be a bit "Italian surly", but if you don't mind that then adds to the charm. Reccommended. We actually left Milan for a couple days and came back toKing Mokinbo to stay once again on our trip.

I don't know why people do not unanimously love this hotel. Great staff who smile and help you and go the extra mile. Clean, tasteful decoration in an individual style. Very cheap fast wifi. Comfy bed. Full bar. Breakfast with a choice of proper coffee and freshly pressed OJ (at a small extra - but in many places you just get sugary yellow water and brown drab without a choice!). I paid 55 EUR special deal. I wish I could always get a hotel like this at that price when travelling.

King Mokinba Milano is a great place to stay. Located 5 minutes walk from the Cadorna metro station and in a nice neighborhood 15 minutes walk from main Milano landmarks. Really nice staff, very nice rooms for the price (ours was next to the German flag in front and had an awesome "balcony"). 4 stars in Europe = 2 1/2 in America, but this is still a really nice hotel and the nicest 4 star we stayed at in all of Europe. Plus the in room minibar is actually slightly cheaper than the lobby bar! Definitely recommend.

I was to stay in Milan for 2 nights after a business meeting in Treviglio. One of the Italian colleagues suggested me this hotel when I stated that I would like to stay close to Duomo. Well this is the only positive thing about the hotel. Its location is very nice. Other than that the hotel is tiny. Well, the room I stayed was 316. Its window was sealed, also very small and noisy. There was a air conditioning system machine just outside the window working continuosly. You can not tell if it is night or day in the room. They also refused to change my room claiming that they are fully booked and in fact the other rooms are also similar. If I had not prepaid the hotel cost, I would have never stayed in that place. Besides the breakfast saloon was underground with no windows.

Just had overnight in King Mokinba Hotel (room 416), ideally lying halfway between Castello Sforzesco and Duomo/shopping galleries, very convenient for everything! Cheerful welcoming, competent personnel, small but nice room with very clean private bathroom, individual AC, a minibar. A rich breakfast at 9€ downstairs. They also have a private taxi company charging 25€ for the hotel-Linate airport fare. Over all, a very nice stay, no doubt I'll come back at King Mokinba Hotel on my next trip to Milan!

Room is VERY small, but that was expected. Hotel is on a busy street, which makes it convenient, but a little noisy at night. It was fine for a one night stay, but would be difficult to have that small of a room for longer stays. Good value when you get a bargain rate, not good value if full price or close to it.

The guy at the reception in the morning was really rude. when we arrived he told the girl there to "send us away" if we were the ones without a room. Eventually he didn't realize I spooke Italian so than he told me he would have got us to another hotel because they'd some problems with rooms. Too bad the other hotel was on the other side of the city Area Fiera where the hotels are way chaper. We had no car so I insisted that I had booked that hotel for the location and he got us a room and made us wait one extra hour to check in. He didn't apologize once and laughed at me when I said I wanted to see the room before getting my lagguage there! I've never met anyone so rude in my life! He should be fired! The room was great but smelled like pup on one side maybe a dog had done it on the carpet. Every thing else was really fine but the arrival was horrible. I hope to never run into that guy if I ever go there again. I wouldn't suggest someone I care for to go there and start their trip like ours!

Mokinba Hotel is located right next to the Malpensa Express....so if you need to get to the MXP airport, stay here! The hotel is very nice and clean. We paid 78 euros for one night by prepaying for a standard double room (no breakfast), so the price was great. We also had a small balcony that faced the backside of the hotel. Beds are very comfortable. Only con is that the bathroom shower drain was clogged and drained very slowly...and also the internet usage charge was steep (5 euros for 1 hour). Hotel is also close to Da Vinci's Last Supper and reasonable walking distance to the Duomo.

Administrative staff was very arrogant and sometimes not kindness. There is no competence in reception about technical issues like internet. For the amount paid and the accommodation received it was terrible, it stated that this hotel was a 4*, it was far from this. We had one room that was infested with fleas and the hotel staff did not do anything for us. We ordered a junior suite and were told that it has three seperate bedrooms. Upon arrival we understood that the junior suite is just a double room with a third bed... after discussions with the staff we could change to three single rooms. The single rooms were extremely small and all of them were built along 2 elevator walls (all rooms endling on 16 i.e. 216, 316...) and were therefore quite noisy. Bottom line: Go for single rooms or double rooms - forget the suite. The staff is friendly and prices are OK, location is very good for sightseeing. Recommendations: Ristorante Brera (nearby - 4 minutes walk) and bar magenta.

The rooms are very impressive and the breakfast buffet was really great. the server, Felie, so nice, we really have to give her a special mention. The only downside, which was so important since we had so many reservations to make, was that you had to pay for internet service. The location near the Cadorna station was so convenient. When we asked them as to how EXACTLY to get to the hotel from the station, all they said was that it was near. Maybe next time, a more detailed instruction can be given to the guests. Excellent! Wonderful location, charming staff, and next door to the splendid archaeological museum. A quick trot even in heels to everywhere in central Milan. Warmly recommended!

On arrival at the hotel around mid-day there was a plumbing problem with the room that I was to be assigned. The desk clerk and I exchanged cell phone numbers and a few hours later he called and said that they found me a room at the hotel. When I returned I found that I had been assigned a very nice room and I was very pleased with my night at the hotel.

I'd booked two separate stays on adjacent nights (don't ask!) for a single room. I got given a large double for both nights, with a balcony that looked onto the street. Fantastic! I didn't eat there, so can't comment on the breakfast. Like many others, I'd picked the hotel because it was very convenient for the Cordona train station, for the airport train. It also turned out to be right next door to the Archeological museum - a small, under-appreciated marvel. And convenient for metro, trams, and within walking distance of some good restaurants (I can particularly recommend Artidoro). At 90EUR/night, excellent value; at 130EUR/nite, quite good. Definitely a place to go back to.

My single room had a single bed, so it was a true single room, not double for price of single. The shower delivered only piping hot water except if I forced the knob past the minimum temperature. Staff speak some English, but not all of them know any. Breakfast buffet very good.

We were only able to stay one night at this property. We found it convenient enough to walk to the Duomo and nearby shopping and sights. The hotel staff's recommendation for restaurants were superb. the staff was efficient and service-oriented. the breakfast is quite a spread...and therefore quite busy...but good. The staff aranged transportation to the airport for us, etc. I do not think it had the charm, say, of some of the small family-owned places we had stayed in Italy, but it does not pretned to be such. This is more of a business type of hotel with a kind of old school opulence.

As this visit related to my wife's 50th birthday we looked for a special hotel near the transport and city centre. We also looked for a superior typeroom. All this was fulfilled by the King Hotel. I cannot praise the hotel and it's staff enough for a most enjoyable visit. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed only one night here. Nice location, rather good breakfast, nice people at the reception. Trams are traversing right under the windows, so sometimes it's noisy.

The garage is very expensive for the long distance walking from the hotel (10 minutes walk!). You should mention this in your hotel discription.

I stayed for less than 24 hours and basically just chose the hotel for its proximity to the Cadorna train station (and train to Malpensa Airport). The room was on the small side, but was very comfortable and clean. There is really not much to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but the Duomo is walking distance and so is the Cadorna station and subway stop.

We would stay at the King Mokinba hotel again. It was located centrally for walking and public transportation - except at night. The problem wasn't the hotel but the environs of the Cadorna station, which housed all the homeless people and drunks. There is a taxi station there - I suggest you use it as I did with my daughter when we arrived at 23:00. The 7 euros you spend will be worthwhile. Also, if you're planning to go to the opera at La Scala (as we did), don't plan to do it on foot. Too difficult in heels and you'll get there all sweaty. Use a taxi for that, too. Right outside the hotel is a tobacco stand where you can buy a day ticket ("giornalieri")for all forms of public transportation. You stamp it only once when you get on, and then it's good for 24 hrs. We used it like crazy.

Location is excellent. Corsa Magenta is one of the exclusive streets of Milan. About 2 blocks from the Cadorna Railway Station. Very close to the Duomo, La Scala, Castello, Santa Della Grazie and the shopping areas . Two frequent trams (#16 and #19) run right in front of the hotel that goes to the Duomo and all central areas. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was excellent. The front desk could have been more hospitable (a little dour) and the rooms were very small but functional. Very easy access from Malpensa Airport taking the Malpensa Express train to Cadorna Station and walking from there.

I was really unimpressed with the reception who did not make us feel welcome. When asked for a map of the area, one was just thrown on the counter by the receptionist, with no effort to help us find where we wanted to go. Room was too small and I could not put my luggage on the floor, otherwise there was no walking space.

Excellent hotel: cosy decor, comfortable rooms, impressive choice for breakfast, a short walk to the Duomo/centre, a definite value for money if booked through venere (and not directly with the hotel) and overall a very pleasant stay. However, one negative comment is the front desk staff, all 3 of whom we dealt with were absolutely clueless about any happenings in the city, or where to get information, or what tram to take to e.g. Navigli, or about city pollution charge (for cars), etc. Basically, all questions we asked were answered with "don’t know". Moreover, the front desk staff was verging on being rude, i.e. talking to you while leafing through some paperwork or staring into computer, and ignoring you until you actually call for their attention. A bit more manners training is required for a 4 star hotel standard.

Nice but small quiet room - lovely view of building across the street. Bath was nice size though. Had a little trouble getting on the internet and clarifying what we had to pay. It took a very long time to get on. Breakfast was very nice with fresh orange juice and a lot of food choices.

Perfect location within a walking distance to the Duomo and the centre of Milan of approx. 10 minutes. Of course the Corso Magenta is a little noisy because of the heavy traffic, but no big problem. The cleanliness of the room was top of the pops, the staff very competent except for a slight mishap on our last day when we were asked to change rooms because of some problems with the bathroom (problems we never discovered). The changing of rooms was later cancelled but nevertheless we had to pack our belongings before the staff called the whole thing off. We can highly recommend King Mokinba at Corso Magenta. The price is really a bargain for a hotel of this quality.

The hotel is in an excellent location within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants and train station. The reception is not very welcoming, they are rather abrupt, but I have to say that when I ask for a quiet room they did not hesitate and gave me a great room on the back of the building-not the greatest view- but very quiet and spacious. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a friendly "barista" making delicious cappuccinos always with a smile not matter how busy she was. Went to Milan for a performance at La Scala and stayed 4 nights. I would consider staying again the next time I am in Milan.

The hotel itself was not bad. The rooms were nice, as were the common areas and it is a short walk to the historic sights. However, the staff was AWFUL! Checking in they were not bad, but after that they were horrible - not helpful and actually lied to both me and my friend. They have a shuttle that will take you to the airport for almost DOUBLE what a taxi charges, but they tell you it is the same price. Plus, we were both quoted 2 different prices by different employees. Very rude and unfriendly.

Although the room was not so big, it was very clean, in a street very accessible to everything. We had a window facing the street, which we opened and could see the Duomo (fantistic view, impressive). The staff was very friendly and resourceful. Breakfast had a variety of things to eat, fresh produts. The elevator is just for two (2). On our last day, we checked out and left our luggage and I felt secure and relaxed. When we came back they took us to the train station on a Mini Van they have for this purpose. I would definetely return to this hotel in Milan. We enjoyed our stay.

Good restaurants in the neighbourhood, but expensive due to location. That said, given that we got such a good deal on the hotel I can't really complain. Taxi from station was expensive as have to go right through the city centre to get there. Nice to stay in a different part of the city though, and great for getting around on foot once you are there. The room was huge, very quiet and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Too many temptations in the mini bar!!

Beautiful, nice little hotel, excellent breakfast and service, very clean and cozy. Very elegant area of the town, just 3 bus stops from the centre or a 15 minutes walk from Duomo. Unfortunately, no lift for the breakfast room. Definitely I would choose it again and I'll recommend it to my friends. Book in advance to grab best rates !!

Don't forget your ear taps (at least just in case you have a couple 'full of love' next door). This was the only pity. The hotel is ok, recently refurbished and very clean, very very comfortable mattresses. It has a couple of lifts and breakfast very complete BUT no isolation between rooms, at least not enough in my opinion.

The hotel is good. Location is really good - walking distance to the center, very convinient that you can arrive to Malpensa airport, take a bus and you will come to the very center, 5 minutes walk (possible even with a 25kg suitcase) to the hotel. Really convinient. The reception is a little bit too slow and helpless, but overal if you have a good price, it is worth staying. The only trouble I had. My room was too close to the elevator, so I was listening to the sound of the lift all night long

This hotel was just what we needed after a busy schedule of travelling. The rooms are very nice; definitely renovated within the last 10 years. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great - all marble with tub/shower combo that was quite rejuvenating! The staff was helpful in assisting with our taxi and replenishing the breakfast. Breakfast was truly unforgettable; the best I've had (or as good as another 4-star hotel in Rome last year): cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, teas, coffees, juices...the hotel's photos do not deceive, and buffet style lets you eat as much as you want. The price was just right for us, and we had no complaints at all.
