Hotel Windsor Milano - Milan

It was my 4th business stay in the Windsor Hotel Milan. The Standard-Single is very spaciousness, tidy and the breakfast-buffet provides all I want. Some rooms seem to be smoking-rooms. You have to open the window for a couple of minutes to eliminate the the bad smell. The rooms are a little bit noisy because of the tram but you're in the center of Milan and it is only a 15 minutes walk to the dome, the opera or the castello. It ist only 300m to the next Metro-Station and a few minutes to the central station.

Perfectly located between Central Station and Brera district in a nice quiet area.

Location of hotel very handy for Metro Repubblica station on Linea 3. Single room was fine, however, rooms facing the street are noisy - trams with screeching brakes run till late at night and then start again early in the morning tho´ slightly later on Sunday mornings (use earplugs). Shower handset needed de-scaling (use a pin to unblock holes). Good breakfast in pleasant dining room. Helpful lady receptionist.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, It is always pleasent, we would recomend it to anyone.

This is my first time stayed in Windsor(from 8th-11th Sept 2009). General the quality of the hotel is in average(clean) but the price is overvalue. Bad things are 1) the area is very very noise because it is nearby the tramline, it is around 10 steps distance and the quality of hotel's window is bad, too thin and cannot close up properly to avoid the noise. 2)The room is quite small 3)The shower, water is very small 4)very few choices in the breakfast 5)Price of room rate is overvalue Good things are 1)nearby the Subway, tram and bus stop 2)good size & clean bathroom 3)Reception is friendly and helpful 4)free internet 5)good quality mattress 5)The service people are very friendly in the breakfast cafe.

The hotel was well equipped with facilities for our stay and the room was great. we had a room that faced the street so you could hear the trams at night but that did not bother me. the breakfast was fantastic. all in all a good hotel. It was also close to the train station which is what we were looking for.

La struttura è un po' fatiscente, quando si entra nel corridoio delle camere e nella stessa camera l'aria è viziata e maleodorante. L'aria condizionata è mezza fasulla

It's noisy because TRAM rans in front of the hotel. Breakfast and the restaurant are really nice. The room is small, but reasonable for this price. And enough for a single traveller's short stay. I think it's a good deal.

We were a travelling group of 9 persons, visiting Milano for a weekend. The hotel is ideal situated between railway stations and center. The rooms are big enough and very clean. Breakfast is good and the staff is friendly. Quality and price are okay. There is only one big negative point: the tramway is very loud and it is driving the whole night.

Free internet (no matter wired internet) in south-europe is unusual and very pleasent surprise. The breakfast was also positive surprise as it included even hot meal (scrambled eggs).

This hotel really is a good value and a great location but it is pretty noisy because of the trams. This didn't bother me and I really enjoyed my stay. It's not too far from the train station and it is right by a metro stop that's a few stops away from the duomo. The staff is friendly and competent and I had one of my favorite meals in their restaurant. I think this is going to be my new Milan hotel - it's a keeper!

The hotel is nice the pictures on the internet are correct. The rooms and bathrooms are new and well equipped . The problem is the noise . The street on the corner of the hotel has a Tram that works untill very late and from very early and it is very noisy.

A very nice hotel that it is what you see in web site.Very close to metro and 3 min with metro to the center.Rooms wasn't so big but was very clean and comfortable.They have a wellcome drink.Reception is very frendly and gives you any information that you need.

The hotel is nice and breakfast is excellent. What could be improved is language skills in english and getting used to international customs, such as answering when customers say hello. This is a common thing about Italy, people are not really service-minded. I expect normal courtesy, not overwhelming attentiveness.

Small compact room walking distance to city. Best free internet and mini bar value for money

The hotel was quite conveniently located. The room was lovely, however the shower had a weak strem and was not hot. The room was quite noisy when window was open, but perfectly quiet when closed. The breakfast buffet selection for breakfast was poor - the boiled eggs were green inside and the juice machine made so much noise you could not hear yourself think. I would probably not stay here again.

The hotel was very nice. For the price, it was a good value. I thought everything except the service was excellent. The first lady we had spoken with when we originally checked in was very kind. She provided us with a map and gave us the information we needed. She even told us where we could put our luggage while we were waiting for our room to be ready. The gentleman who was at the front desk when we returned was nothing like the original woman. He was rude, he didn't answer any of my questions. He spoke English, which I appreciated, but he purposely spoke quickly and with a thick accent so I couldn't understand him. It was his arrogant attitude and rude behavior that just startled me so much. I was nice, I tried to speak Italian to him. I asked him basic questions, he was just very rude. Other than that the stay was very pleasant. The rooms were beautiful. The breakfast was great. There was everything from eggs and meat to bread and ceral. It was an excellent selection. This hotel is well worth the money and in a very convient location to the train station as well as to the metro, which will take you everywhere else in Milan. It is a good choice. Just make sure at the front desk you talk with the cherry woman with glasses and not the night front desk man, he was incredibly rude. Pleasant visiting, hope this helps.

Hotel very good standards all round. Disappointed only that restaurant closed on saturday night.

Good value for money, especially if you are looking for a place in that area of Milan. Good: close to subway station, professional staff, clean rooms, decent size. Bad: office suburb, few people around in the evening. I would definitely go again.

Hotel excelente para quien viaje con Ryanair, ya que se encuentra a escasos 5 minutos de la terminal de autobuses de Milán-Orio al Serio. La relación calidad-precio es muy razonable. Está limpio, pero es ruidoso, ya que el tranvía hace chirridos fuertes en una curva que hace justo debajo del hotel. Yo he estado 2 veces y creo que volveré siempre a él. Está muy bien comunicado por ubicación en metro con todo Milán.

Excellent Hotel, near to Duomo, 15 min walk or 3 tram stops. Very nice rooms and super nice staff. Definetely my choice for the next trips to Milan.

The staff weren't happy to have religious Jewish guests when we explained the problem of opening automatic doors on Shabbat. When Shabbat came, however, they were very helpful.

There is a train nearly the hotel. Every night, each five minutos you can listen the train. It dosen't disturbe enought, but you can heard it.

It is hard to belive that temperature termostats are unknown in Milano. The room was like a SAUNA!

What are great hotel at this price!

Welcoming at reception especially Irene!very helpful and knowledgeable.we were upgraded to a suite with sitting area on top floor.free mini bar with varied soft drinks was a lovely touch, and well received! we could see the alps from our bedroon window.trams and traffic can be heard especially as the trams rounded the corner that the hotel was on but we did manage to sleep!close to metro which is easy to navigate and fast to get to duomo etc.lovely patischeria about 100 metres away-go there for wonderful cakes!nearest supermarket about 150 metres.milan shopping great- especially round duomo area- and don't forget to take the lift to the roof of the duomo- fantastic!train to Como easy and views there wonderful.also if you fly into Bergamo get bus to medieval town on top of hill-beautiful-then come back down and get train to milan for less than 5 euros!

The staff who checked us in upon our arrival in the hotel acted more like a border guard than a receptionist. We arrived past 3:30pm but waited for more than an hour for the room to be ready. Upon check-out, we were slapped a charge of 10 Euros for phone calls we never made. Our rooms were facing the main street and the noise level was quite high. Rooms are large for the price but needed refurbishing and upgrading. Breakfast buffet was good and so was the quality of service in the area where breakfast was served.

First visit to milan and the windsor hotel pleased with both would recommend windsor some reception staff very helpful others not interested. no other complaints top hotel.

The only 2 problems with this otherwise beaut hotel were- (1)the wretched trams that run past the western and northern sides of the hotel from about 5 am to 11 +pm- sleeping is possible and O.K. IF you wear ear-plugs (2) our room, facing west, was always just a bit too hot- we were there early Nov- we could not cool it down as we were informed that the hotel had turned the cooling system off, and only the heating system was available. However, for those travelling by train, it is an easy walk with bags from the main station, and this was hard to appreciate from your map. breakfasts were beaut. Increasing problem may soon be the huge development basically across the road, of the new Trade Centre, which is to be ready for the 2015 World Expo- it is about 1 km square!! I guess there will be plenty of trucks and noise etc associated with this.

This hotel is wonderful and I cannot recommend it too highly. The rooms have recently been refurbished and they are beautifully furnished. The breakfasts were excellent and, because we had to leave early on our day of departure before the breakfast room opened, we were given carrier bags crammed with food to take with us to the airport. We got all of this for a brilliant price and the next time that we're in Milan we hope to stay there again - I would be very disappointed if we couldn't.

Very good breakfast. Computers with Internet access was excellent.

I would return if in not on a street side room. The tram nosie kept us up.

El hotel se encuentra muy bien situado, a 15min de la estacion central de trenes y a unos 20min del Duomo.Lo que no nos gusto mucho fue la habitacion, nos dieron una primera planta(pidiendo si nos podian cambiar por una habitacion situada en un piso superior y dandonos la negativa,hicimos la reserva con un mes de antelacion)que daba a una calle muy transitada por coches y tranvias que cada vez que giraban la calle emitian un ruido considerable.Tuvimos tb un problema con el aire acondicionado y fueron bastante groseros a la hora de solucionarlo, uno de los recepcionistas se lo tenia un poco subido el ego.Los servicios eran los esperados y servian un bufffet bastante bueno y abundante!!

I visit milan vry often. this time i've been there during the fairs, so, all hotels were full, that's why i actually choose the windsor. what i've seen on the pictures and how hotel actually looks is one huge difference! room was looking dirty and bad smelling, the breakfast was very poor, the only good thing in this hotel is quite nice location.

Stayed 2 nights. The hotel staff was very competent and service very good. Good breakfast buffet, served till 11:00. Clean room and very nice bathroom. Welcome complimentary cold drinks in the room. Unfortunately on the 'wrong' side with noise from the rattling trams, but acceptable as it was a discount offer and good value for money overall.

First visit, pleasantly surprised. Perfect location; walking distance from the train station, and then just a ten minutes walk from the Moscova area. Great breakfast! Will definitely be back!

Great hotel, we liked very much. We spend a great time in Milan, very nice room and very good breakfast, very nice staff.

Situation 100m from metro (3 stations to Duomo), 400m from Central Station, 150m from an hop-on hop-off bus stop, friendly staff with good informations, very good breakfast

Cerca de la estación de tren. La zona es un poco triste. Para ser un hotel de 4 estrellas parece mas bien de 3. El desayuno fenomenal.

Las fotos que aparecen en internet no corresponden a la realidad. La habitación que se nos dio era mucho más pequeña de lo que nos esperábamos. La situación está bien. Se puede ir andando desde la Estación Central si no vas muy cargado, son unos 15 min.(el primer día cogimos un taxi y luego nos dimos cuenta que sólo hay que bajar una avenida hasta la plaza de la República). La zona del Duoma está a unos 25 min. andando en línea recta. Puede hacerse si no se está muy cansado...

Hotel fenomenal, en el trato, la habitación super limpia y muy grande. Desayuno abundante. La atención en recepción estupenda. La única pega es que se oyen los tranvías desde la habitación, pero todos sabemos que Milán está llena de tranvías y se tienen que oir.

El hotel está muy bien situado y las habitaciones estupendas. Sólo un problema, si te toca el lado del tranvia se escucha mucho.

The room itself was spacious and clean. Trouble was that when we tried to have some rest during the afternoon hours (we arrived that same day to Milan and were very tired) - we couldnt close an eye for a second. ON the floor above us, some renovation works took place... Someone was wrecking the walls with a heavy hammer, and our room shook. When I told all that to the person at the reception, He just shrugged and didnt say a word... Sorry fellows. That is not the attitude you expect in a hotel, let alone a 4 star hotel.

We had two rooms - our teenage sons in one and we were in another. Everything went very smoothly and they had a really good breakfast.

In this hotel female single corporate travellers are not allowed to bring a guest to the room. I have had a dinner with a business client and wanted to bring him to my room to discuss the schedule for next day. (my pc and calender was in my room). I was told in a very rude way that it was not accepted by the hotel. I have travelled as a single corporate traveller for many years, all over the world. This is the first and only hotel that treated me as if I was a prostitute.

Maybe the staff had a bad day while we checked in - he was not friendly at all. + close to the citycenter

El hotel está muy bien, tiene internet wi-fi gratis, al igual que el minibar. Lo único reprochable es que tenía solo una ducha muy pequeña, cuando creo que un hotel 4 * tendría que tener bañera. Y lo que sí, mucho ruido de la calle, sirenas, coches y tranvía. Yo no tuve problemas para dormir, pero me despertaba de a ratos.

Buen hotel. Situado cerca de estación de metro Pza. República. Buen desayuno buffet. Las habitaciones son cómodas, aunque se oye el tráfico de la avenida. El personal también es amable.Los alrededores del hotel son tranquilos. No hay restaurantes o locales de diversión demasiado cerca. A pesar de ello, el ruido del tráfico se escucha por las noches. El hotel es recomendable.

The welcoming was a disaster, We had to take our own baggage to the room. The staff was not gentile at all.

Windsor is a very very worth staying and reasonable price.You could not blieve that the price is 45 euro.

Nice, budgetery, but not the most modern hotel. A unique thing: they have free mini bar (restricted to a waffel and some non alcoholic soft drink) in the rooms. Not the best 4 star hotel, but defenitely worth the money. Can be offered to anybody.

Very nice hotel near Repubblica square. Minibar is free of charge. Helpul staff. Only but is noise from the trams that pass in front of the hotel. Location is very good with a subway station nearby.

This has to be one of the better hotels I stayed during my long trip around europe. it was very well priced for a 4 star establishment, especially this being milan! I paid a mere euro 45 per night for a single room which makes it excellent value. They say that its walkable from the train station but so is everything if u have the energy. Its not that near the main train station. its better to take the metro to republica and walk from there. The hotel looks good and the stay were helpful. They spoke english but had difficulties with communication at times. There were free snacks and coffee in the foyer which was great. My room was not huge but done up well. The toilet appeared as big as the room proper! the TV was of a good size with good reception. there was the usual writing pads/pens etc which was useful. One night, when i returned to my room..my used towels were removed but not replaced. so when i rang the front desk, there was only one person on duty ( not for a 4 star hotel i am sure!!!) I had to go downstairs and get a key for a different room to obtain the towels and go back down to return the keys! The breakfast was great. a selection of cold ad hot choices. good quality and quantities. well presented. nice dining room too. location was avaerage. its in between the main train station and city centre. it is walkable to the core but will take a good 15-20mins. Prices in milan are very variable but when u get a good deal..grab it. This hotel is very good value for money but the location was average. I would certainly recomend this hotel to anyone who wants a little luxury at a budget price. a good choice.

Nice hotel for a pleasant stay in milan!

Average hotel; unfortunately, welcoming at reception was very unfriendly and discouraging. If personnel had been more appreciative it would have given my stay a different perspective. Otherwise o.k. regarding the room as such. Location of hotel in walking distance between Central Station and historic city centre.

This was an enjoyable stay in a typical EUropean City hotel. It was convenieintly located for the centre and we found an excellent restaurant nearby (Rocking Horse near Garibaldi station. Breakfast was o.k. too. Would use it again.

The room was OK - but a bit too noisy...than again it's central Milan. The only "blah" thing was the restaurant. If you can - go to some other place for dinner, nearby you'll find lots of small restaurants. After all I would go there again ;-)

Is an OK hotel for a one-night stay if you have to catch an early train from Milano Centrale

The hotel was very well located near central station and historic area. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast was average for a 4 star hotel, but overall was fine. I would recommend it, and is used alot as a business hotel - internet access was also available.

When I will have to go to Milano again , I will surely book this hotel. Nice , quiet , well located , etc

Ok for a 1-night travel

Noise level was high due to construction on the lift shaft - understandable but still unwelcome

For a 4* hotel not as good as I expected in terms of quality of room. A little impersonal but the staff were very competent (even to the level of arranging a printer for a laptop in order to print som late modifications to documents). Overall, adequate for the business traveller without being special.

Decidedly unfriendly, unhelpful front desk staff who double qualified that we wanted a room with a double bed despite the special request being made at the time of booking, obviously because we were a homosexual couple. My advice to other gay couples, this appears to be a molst unwelcoming place to gay couples, and in a city like Milan, very disappointing.

Do not book an economy room, it is very small and very noisy. The restaurant is not adviced, too expensive and low quality of food.

Windsor is a very modern hotel in the city centre of Milan. Handy for transport, shopping and sight-seeing. The hotel is the best value- for-money I have seen in Milan. I will return there on my next visit.

When we arrived the receptionist told us that the junior suite we reserved was only for 3 people. They claimed that it was a mistake on the webpage. We had to wait awhile till they sorted it out. Also, we had to park our car in the middle of the garage as there no available space even though I reserved it in advance. The manager of this hotel lacked cordiality in welcoming their guests. The location of this hotel is quite excellent.

Well modernised hotel. Chose because of attached restaurant. reataurant prices on high side.
