When I arrived to the hotel there were works in progress. Those works would certainly make better the hotel, but its structure needed a deep and overall remaking to put it in line with the requirements that an hotel should have in our time, particularly for what concern the bath room. Needing to go back to Milan in the near future I will not book the same hotel.

We spent one night there and we found that the room wasn't as good as we expected. It was small, unconfortable and the bathroom was really awful. I felt like I was sleeping in a camping. However the rooms with a higher price (65 euro) were better than our (50 euro). The only positive thing is that we could park inside even if it wasn't a real parking as they said but only a small inner garden with the possibility of parking only two cars.

After a whole wonderful week in italy, that single night was a disaster. It was pretty cold and the heating didn't work. we asked from the staff member at the reception to see the problem and fix it for 3 times and he said "don't worry everything works" and it didn't so we spent a very cold night! The bathroom wasn't clean enought, there were few hairs in the sink and toilet. Last but not least, we woke up at 7am from sounds of hammer knocking and furniture moving. This place doesn't respect its gusts, I suggest no one to stay there!!!

I loved this hotel. It was manned while we were there by two young men, both of whom spoke passable English, and put up with my terrible Italian. The rooms were very quiet at night, but they were doing some construction during the day, but it wasn't a problem. The rooms were air conditioned, which could make a little noise, but stopped when we turned the fan to low. Breakfasts, though not spectacular, included fresh croissants (3 kinds), bread, nutella, butter, jam, cheese, yogurt (not the best), juice, terrible cereal choices, but best of all great choice of macchiato espresso, etc. There was plenty of linen, changed daily, it was convenient to the Loreto metro station (2 different lines), and there was an international clientele of all ages (I saw kids and a dog, so it seems like all were welcome. Great friendly feel.

The good: nice location across the street from a nice family park, fairly close walking distance to the metro station and subsequently to the train station using the metro. The breakfast was typical, nice fresh baked pastries and the owners would gladly make coffee drinks. The rate was reasonable. The bad: the most disgusting mold covered shower I have ever been in. The new owners stood at the back step and smoked which meant if you needed to go in or out of the lobby area you would be walking through a cloud of smoke every time. The european techno-pop the owners were playing at 9am in the morning was not the best choice of morning music. The bed barely fit into the room which left little room for suitcases, etc. The wardrobe closet in the room was not useable as the drawer fronts fell off and the toilet seat was very loose on the stool making for an interesting "ride" when one tried to sit down. I had chosen this hotel based on the very good score and great recommendations from previous travelers when the Hotel Trentina was under the previous owners...sadly, the quality has obviously drastically deteriorated to the point where I would not rate it a 1 star hotel.

The hotel was adequate and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The rates are very good and the hotel would be good for anyone looking for an inexpensive, clean place to stay close to the Corso Buenos Aires. While there are a number of hotels on the same street, it is not so close to restaurants and other nightlife, nor is it a very attractive part of the city. I was in Milan for only two nights. I think next time I'd look for a hotel more centrally located and pay the extra.

I will definitely stay at Hotel Trentina again if I go to Milan. We recieved the best service from the staff of any of the hotels we stayed in during our two week, 6 city vacation in Italy. When we arrived at the hotel we were offered tea and welcomed by Lucca. He provided us with restaurant recommendations and helped us plan our time. We stayed only one night and wished we could have stayed longer. On the morning of our departure Paola called a taxi to take us to the train station where we caught the shuttle to the airport. She helped me figure out the tickets and money needed for the trip. When I arrived at the airport more than an hour later I realized I had forgoten my camera in the taxi and called the hotel in a panic. Paola tracked down the taxi and secured the return of my camera to the hotel. It was a miracle! Paola also shipped my camera to me in the states. I have only good things to say about Hotel Trentina. Thank you Lucca and Paola!

The hotel stuff, especially a young woman(maybe a proprietor of the familt-owned hotel) was very, very friendly and very helpful in everything! We were filled with her warm feelings. We were tired after a sightseeing and wanted to have dinner around the hotel.A male receptionist recommended to us a very good restaurant in the neibourhood. It served us traditional Milanian food, delicious and very reasonable in price.

We have already recommended this hotel to friends. Room - small but very clean. We suspect that Paola's dislike of all creepy crawly things ensures it. Staff - Excellent, very helpful and very nice. Hospitality - Greeted on arrival with fresh coffee and helpful information on how to get around Milan, good places for dinner. Clientele - Suited to travellers more than business groups.

Getting to the hotel by public transport was a nightmare, However we were assisted by a very helpful woman who spoke English and was a ice skating judge, which seemed somewhat unusual in Milan. Once we go to the hotel Luka was quite helpful, security was very good. We were given a room on the third floor, no lift. The room was no larger then 3mx3m, the bathroom was 1mx1m with a shower and toilet. The bathroom had an accordion type door which mean that everything that happened in the bathroom could be heard, there was not much privacy. On the positive side, the hotel was run by Luka, his mother and sister Paola who was a gem, fluent in several languages who enjoyed talking and being helpful. Every morning we would wake up to the smell of wonderfully brewed Italian coffee and freshly baked pastry. We would return to the hotel if we had a room on the second floor with a balcony. Ten minutes from the hotel is a nice inexpensive restaurant run by an Egyptian Coptic. The name of the restaurant is Briciole Ristorante Pizzeria on V.le Lombardia 64

I suppose Milan is pricey and so we expected a costly stay for what was in effect a hostel. However - the hotel owners were fantastically welcoming, the room clean and pre-cooled (very hot weather), shower was great and the place had a sense of conviviality missing in so many other places. It was clear from various photos on the wall from customers that they had a lot of good to say about the place. The person who signed us out had almost perfect English and was incredibly helpful in getting us to the Milan Centrale train station very cheaply (incidently - the No. 33 tram only 2 mins walk from the Trentina hotel got us there in 15 mins for €1 each!! - kids free). It was a pleasure to be on the tram and soaking in the atmosphere. Would recommend people to stay there if all you want is basic board. I'd like to have stayed and chatted with the owners for a while longer if I had time - seemed such a relaxed place and quiet. Would recommend that Venere place more info on tram 33 access on website (forget taxis - no need) Only issue I had was that the bathroom sink u-bend leaked a little.

I thought that Paula and Luca were most hospitable and accomodating. I had some trouble getting around my room because the bed was too large for the size of the room. I was very near the reception area so that the noise was noticeable--I had to use ear plugs. The breakfast was simple but good. Trams were close, but the metro was three long blocks away which seemed a long distance because of lousy weather.

This was a wondeful place to stay in Milan. We had a quad with four single beds for two parents and two teenagers. Very clean. Very comfortable. Nothing fancy but for the amount of time we spent in the room, it was fine. The staff could not be more accomodating and delightful. It is worth the stay just for the breakfast alone - the croissants are incredible and the homemade hot chocolate and special request American coffee...

I'm often quite skeptical about hotel reviews, but everything I read about the Trentina was true. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful and it really did feel like we were staying with friends rather than in a hotel. The room was basic but perfectly met our needs, spotlessly clean and what it might have lacked in comparative 'luxury' was more than made up for by the hospitality. The hotel is on a fairly quiet street just outside the main centre, a 30 minute stroll into the city if you're that way inclined and there really is a lot to see on that side of town that you might otherwise miss (beautiful buildings, good places to eat and a glimpse of Milan life). Only a couple of minutes away from a metro in any case so easy to get anywhere. I wouldn't fail to recommend this hotel to anyone and if I get the change to go to milan again, which I hope to, Trentina will be top of my list when looking for somewhere to stay

We arrived in a surprise snowstorm. Walking with suitcases from the Metro, cold and covered in snow the Hotel Trentina was a welcome site. The staff gave us an extra private room for our daughter. They also provided us with an excellent recommendation for dinner at an osteria around the corner. In addition, the breakfast room was opened a half hour early to assist our early morning departure. I made our reservation based on the comments and was not disappointed. Easily, the nicest people I have dealt with in the hotel business. I will recommend this establishment to everyone and when I return to Milan I will use the Hotel Trentina. The location is adjacent to a park which helped in finding the site. We used mapquest and googled the views, all helped during the snowstorm which whited everything out. If you are staying in Milan this is a great location. Not a Hyatt or Sheraton but much nicer.

Trentina is a gem. Great value for the price and offered everything I needed. I received the friendliest service of my 4 week stay in Italy. It's close to a Metro station, costs around 10 euro in a taxi to the central railway station (or you can catch a tram easily) and it's a pleasant walk to the Duomo and main shopping area if you're a keen walker. You can expect some traffic noise but it is a city afterall but I felt really safe.

The Trentina hotel is a small family run type. We were a family of 2adults & 2 chilren and steyed in one bedroom with 4 beds. A bit cramped, but we did not mind, since it was only for 1 night. The A/C runs fine, but you have to notify the front desk to turn it off, if you don't want it. We parked our car inside the back open space, so it was secure. Metro is only 5 min away and 3 stations from the Duomo. We took the advice of the front desk lady, and dined at the Hot Meeting pizzeria, 100m down the road. Very good choice, authentic italian pizza and at a good price. The owners are very helpful, breakfast is great with lots to choose from and all kinds of coffee available. Since Milano is kind of expensive I would recommend Trentina for families who are on a budget and prefer small family run hotels with their personal touch.

Very nice continental breakfast with real coffee & always a second cup from Paola, also incredibly friendly & full of information on places to visit, eat & drink, where to go shopping & much more..if only we had time ! The hotel is in a pretty location opposite a park & our room overlooked lovely gardens. Rooms were airy & clean & great shower ! Excellent B&B in good location, not too far from main shopping street and metro. Family owned, the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Our only negative comment was that you couldnt always get hot water for the shower if other people were using it at the same time, but apart from that would stay there again. We travelled around a few Italian cities on this trip and this was the first B&B we had stayed in where we actually looked forward to the breakfast. Home made bread and croissants, followed by the most gorgeous hot chocolate and coffee.

We stayed in two double rooms with en-suite. There was a one night stay in a triple room before moving to another, a double next to our friends. This was explained immediately on arrival and the next day things were graciously and promptly reorganised. We continued our stay in next door rooms with lovely views of the characterful gardens and houses behind the hotel. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and perfectly suited to our long weekend stay. Paula and the other staff were incredibly welcoming and really helpful, providing maps, advice and tips on where to go and costs of tickets etc. The breakfasts were lovely and on one morning when our teenage daughters couldn't make it out of bed, Paula gave us trays to take breakfast upstairs to them!! We liked the area, it was central, you could walk to the centre or take the metro and it has character. We would highly recommend the Trentina to anyone who wants a friendly, approachable service and simple, comfortable accommodation. We would happily return! Thanks all at the Trentina!

There isn't much in Milan for the tourist, unless you like large, noisy, expensive cities. But if you have to come here for some reason, the Hotel Trentina is not too bad for the price. As we arrived in Milan on a rainy day, we took taxi to the property, which costed about 7 Euro. The staffs were very nice, and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. However, the rooms are very small. We traveled with total 7 people, and stayed in 3 rooms (2 triple + 1 single). We probably will find other place to stay next time. But, I do recommend this property for young travellers, with no more than 4 people.

The room and bathroom are small, but functional and clean. Unfortunately we came during some important convention so the rooms were a little pricey -- but it was the best deal around for what we were asking for (double room with air conditioning, private bath). What stands out about Trentina is the service. My husband got sick and the staff took the time to prepare a breakfast tray to be brought up to him. My only recommendation is to give more detailed directions of how to get to the hotel. For example, from the Milan central railway station, take the green subway line to ...., get off and walk on so and so street...

We were staying in Milan for a couple of nights before a holiday in the Lakes and needed somewhere close to the train station and other attractions. This hotel fitted the bill and was excellent value for a family of four as we had one room together. We found it easy to get into the middle of the city and there were shops the children liked on the way in on Buenos Aires. The staff were extremely helpful, suggesting places to eat, things to see etc and very friendly. Obviously, being close to a mainline station tends to make an area a bit down at heel and when we came back at night it did seem a little seedy but we were quite alright using the metro and walking back from there. The hotel was very good value and welcoming.

This is a family-run, small hotel. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. They gave us detailed directions on how to find and use the metro, where the best places to eat were, and where the best sights to see were. We reserved a quadruple as we were traveling with our two teenagers, and even though they confirmed that, I really doubt they have a quadruple room available. We were given two double rooms for the same price. The beds were the hardest we experienced in our two weeks in Europe. The continental breakfast was very good with the tables in the small breakfast room having nice tablecloths and place settings. The staff was friendly and spoke excellent English.

It was surprisingly pleasant to stay in the hotel and all the employees did their utmost to help us settle comfortably. Hotel wasn't new, but they did their best to keep it clean. It would be ideal for a group of students who travel together.

A very welcoming hotel. They remembered that I had two cappucino's for breakfast the first day and had prepared the second for me on the second day without me asking.

Tutto perfetto!

We selected Trentina using venere.com and when we arrived we found that everything was matching our expectation. But what really exceeded our expectation was the competence of the employees. Very friendly, giving good tourism advice and always in the good mood. This is what makes us want to return to this property.

Amazing place with fantastic staff who made us feel at home straight away! We were upgraded to a bigger better room free of charge which was great. Hotel is about 5-10 mins walk to two different metro stations with great access to various parts of the city. Lots of local italian bars and restaurants nearby....which staff recommended. Would definitely go back if visiting Milan again.

This hotel was so great. We had a crisis that could not have been resolved with out the help of the staff. They were wonderful. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast one of the best we had in Italy. And again we cannot say enough about the family of owners who would bring us back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

I booked Trentina on the basis of all the wonderful comments everyone had about the staff- and they were completely right! Paola gave us a 'gift' map, drew out a suggested itinerary of everything we needed to see, including the nightlife, and told us loads of tips. She advised us on our trips to Lago di Como (MUST SEE!!!) and Bergamo as well! The front desk was also well stocked with guide books, although I found Paola more useful =). I traveled with three other friends, and although the quad room was a little bit small (the price for the quality is quite fair, though), they gave us the room with the terrace, which was FABULOUS! It was about the same size as the room itself, beautiful, and perfect for lounging around on with some wine and friends! So ask for it if you can! The hotel has a homey, personal, family-run feel (complete w/ the cutest dogs ever-although they are not in your way) It's perfect for those who value excellent service more than facilities (although the rooms were kept quite clean!) A table was set for the 4 of us in the morning when we went down, and tea/cappucinos were made to order. Paola even called our room on the 2nd day when we didn't show to check if we wanted breakfast (we had a late night!) Even though Trentina's in an unimpressive part of town a bit further out, Paola & family were great(her brother Luca was friendly and helpful as well-and cute! haha) I recommend!

A 2 STAR hotel with a 5 STAR staff who went out of their way to see that we had a wonderful time in Italy. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful and even included home made rolls. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is touring on a limited budget.

A lovely hotel with charming owners who our made our stay memorable. They went out of their way to help us, we did not need a tour guide! We definitely would stay again if in Milan.

Since my idea was to search for a place where I could make frequent visits to Milan and feel comfortable and safe, I feel sure to have found just the right place. The friendly staff (Paola and her mother) make one feel welcome immediately. There is nearby shopping on C. Buenos Aires and even my bank BNL right down the street at the corner. Parking is a must, so I really appreciate having that in Milan and the hotel feels like one is simply coming home when one arrives, because the house has that feel. Thank you.

An easy walk from Central Station, close to Metro and an easy walk into the centre. Friendly reception and excellent advice on walking around Milano from Paola. Rooms clean and adequate for travellers on a budget. Good breakfast with proper coffee. Pleased to have chosen the Trentina.

Thought we were getting air conditioning since we went to Milan in July. There was no air conditioning so had to leave the window open on the first floor room. Lots of street noise and entry of mosquitos. Room was very tight for 4 people. The staff was very nice and helpful with a very nice breakfast (not just biscuits and juice). Location was difficult to find. directions could have been better.

Great location. In a residential type area. Close to Metro station. Rooms are small - bathrooms even smaller. The Hotel Trentina was represented well by the descriptions provided. Paola, Luca, and "Mama" were wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful with making our Milano stay a pleasant one.

The staff in this hotel are the most helpful and the friendliest we have ever come across anywhere in the world. We have stayed at this hotel twice in the past year and plan to stay there again in the Autumn. It is also central and close to the Metro. Milan is a pretty cool place too!!

Trentina is a great deal! It is a family owned hotel and you can certainly feel the hospitality straight away. The room is quite spacious and the breakfast is the most generous we received throughout our whole stay in Italy.

Unless you know EXACTLY where the hotel is, and EXACTLY how to get there, you're in for a long walk from the train station. Even if you know the way, it's NOT 800 meters from the train station to the hotel (well, maybe as the crow flies). Try to get a detailed map of Milan, and then try to narrow down exactly where the hotel is to plot your path - or take a taxi. We went a mile out of our way 'cuz we didn't know precisely where the hotel was. Not fun while dragging heavy bags in the summer heat. The staff knew our name when we walked in the door, and our very heavy bag was whisked to our top floor room before we'd begun registering. Traffic noise in the early morning hours, but then tourists should be touring, not sleeping. A very nice breakfast, and the owner is more than willing to share recipies with the guests. Not a long walk to the Metro, which can get you within walking distance of anything in which you might be interested. Really a great value for the money. If we go back to Milan, we'll go back to the Trentina!

Hotel Trentina was a great find. Paola and the rest of the family were knowledgable, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location is not exactly central, but walking downtown via Corso Buenos Aires makes for good window shopping. Mostly, the friendliness of the owners made this place a gem. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Milan.
