The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Good spoken english. The only set back was that the room was tiny and there's no ventilation in the toilet. There's a strong stench coming out from it.

I was our first time in Milan and we enjoyed it a lot. We liked our stay in the hotel, except a problem that occurred in our room. The staff in the hotel speaks fluently english and is very kind and helpful. The rooms in themselves are ok but their problem is the bathroom. Firstly, it is not a separated room, there is just a thin plastic wall that makes the separation. Better be an intimate of your roomate because there is no privacy at all. Secondly, it seems that the air evacuation is common the different bathrooms of the hotel. Unfortunately, our neighbour was a smoker, and it has been as if he/she was smoking in our room (no smoke but an intense fragance). That has been extremely unpleasant. Coming back to the public areas of the hotel, their breakfast is very poor and all-industrial. I'd say 8/10 for the location (10min walking to the central station), 8/10 for the kindness of the staff, 4/10 for the room.

When I arrived, I was informed that they had no room for me, due to some sort of damage to a number of their rooms (possibly water damage). Immediately the clerk had a new room for me in a neighboring hotel, transferring me from a two star to a three star, essentially, and keeping the price the same, all the while apologizing for the problem. It was well-handled and I was impressed with how quickly the problem was solved.

The hotel was a bit farther away from the train station than was anticipated. The hotel accomodated a family of four in a tight room that slept five. The room was on the ground-floor and was around the corner from the front desk. It was too noisy and made sleep difficlut. Late guests, faxes and the shuffling of the desk clerk were all easly heard from our room. This hotel would work for those on a tight budget - but don't take a room on the first floor if loud noise makes resting difficult.

While the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean, the physical condition of the room left a lot to be desired (e.g., duct tape "sealing off" a space around the pipe going from the toilet into the wall). The neighborhood looked marginal.

I thought this hotel definitely could have used improvement. The bedroom was seperated from the bathroom by a very thin wall (you could easily have pushed it down). Also, when I arrived, the room smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. It did have a balcony, which was an added bonus... and the room itself was fairly spacious, but I would probably not return to this hotel again.

Excellent value for money in central Milan. We paid just EUR58 for midweek in November. Really friendly staff with an excellent sense of humour - all spoke excellent english. The room was pretty small, and the bed only a double while the bathroom was basically a closet. To be fair the hotel is undergoing renovation so it may well be that they are upgrading some of the rooms. We can't rate breakfast as we had to leave at 6 am to get to the airport and breakfast is served from 7am. Location is 5 mins walk from the station -easily walkable with backpacks for the Malpensa Express bus, and 2 minutes from the Lima Metro station on Line 1 and also the Corso Buenos Aires shopping street. TIP- Buy a EUR3 all day Metro pass and go anywhere easily in Milan! The Station area is not the greatest of areas(like any city) but we felt safe enough. Overall, it was excellent value for money, and exceeded expectations.

Hotel was easily found, reasonably short walk from central railway and airport-link bus. Getting about the city was easy once we knew where to buy the tickets. Tour bus operators seem to purchase most tickets to Last Supper, so either book months in advance or use tour bus. Good food and drink locally but some of the restaurants start to get full about 9pm. ( - no adaptors for Italian plug sockets) Will certainly visit Milan again.

The room we stayed in was EXTREMELY small, but it was very clean and comfortable. There was construction going on in the hallways and stairwells while we were there, so the place was a little torn up. There was no working early in the morning or after late afternoon, so it was no inconvenience. The hotel was located close to the metro, so getting to the sights was easy. Staff were VERY friendly and helpful.

Room was so small you could hardly walk around the bed. When it was light outside it was dark inside. When it was dark outside it was light inside. You knew when your neighbor was showering. Some of the staff was indifferent. Skip the breakfast. At least the sheets were clean. Close to public transportation.

The hotel was a big let down. I gave the wrong expiry date for my credit card deposit and it caused confusion as my deposit was unable to be deducted, but I received no notification whatsoever of this until fronting up to reception where I was made to feel like crap for such a small problem that could have been fixed with a quick email. We should have left then. The room was well below expectations, especially considering the price we paid and there were renovations going on so the hotel was a mess. Might be good when the renovations are finished, but steer clear in the mean time. Particularly unhappy with the hotel overall. ps the travel directions given were grossly inadequate.

This is located conveniently to the train station and is typical of Milan, you don't get much for your hotel dollar. The service was nice and it was clean and quiet enough. OK for a single traveller - probably not for romantic weekend away.

Milan is just very expensive, so what you get here for one price is far less than what you get in Napoli for that price. The staff was great and accomodating, we requested another room, becuase of the construction work that they were doing, and they immediately tried there best to get us the room we wanted. If it wasn't for the construction work the place would be a lot more quiet. They have a nice garden (unfortunately when we were there filled with work materials). There is an airco, but it's not one of the best, it was still quite warm, and the fact that the rooms are quite small doesn't help. However considering the town, i think it is a good place to stay for that money and i would definetly come there again (when the construction work is done).

The hotel is located pretty close to Central Station, a very useful way to take buses from-to Malpensa and Orio al Serio airports. The Lima subway station is also near the hotel, so that, you have Milán in your hand to visit it. The room was neat and suitable for 4 people with bunk beds for the children. A relaxing morning shower in a medium sized bathroom comes before a good enough breakfast, but no juice included in price. At night, the back to the hotel was a little bit lonely. In summary an excellent relationship quality/price.

Once we managed to sort out how to turn the map it was quite easy to find the hotel and it was only a five minute walk from the train station. Very handy for us as we were flying back to the UK very early hours of the morning. We couldn't be bothered to get up early enough to have breakfast so can't comment on that but at least it was included in the price which isn't always the case... The hotel was very convenient for me. I just needed a place close to the train station to sleep 1 night. The breakfast is served in a lovely courtyard however the quality of the food was awful. There was a private bathroom in my room which is a luxury considering the standards of 2 star hotels at Italy. The staff was friendly and helpfull, they recommended an Indian restaurant in front of the hotel which is very good and cheap.

Not a bad little place but don't expect a good breakfast, even by italian standards. We were unlucky in that we had one of the smallest rooms in the hotel, but it did have a nice balcony. If you come by car and park out front watch out for the market which is on Saturday. If you leave your car there over Friday night it will be impounded! Location is not bad at all. I would stay again, but not in room 107 (I think it was) - not enough room to swing a cat... Oh there is a great fish restaurant in the parallel street in front of the hotel. It gets packed so book...it really is good.

NOT The Best. The pictures for this hotel are a bit misleading. The facade is quite pretty and some effort has been but into the public areas - reception, garden, breakfast room, which are welcoming - however the bedrooms, where one spends more of one's time, are tiny and very shabby. In particular the beds are were lightweight and unstable affairs, unsuited to a hotel. The laths (strips of wood holding up the matress) in one of the beds in our room were inclined to fall out when the occupant moved. We bore this with some good spirit but gave up on the third night when the matress fell through and we discovered that the laths that had fallen to the floor had simply been removed. A replacement bed was brought in from the bacony, which seemed to be a storehouse for old furniture and other rubbish. This could be a lovely hotel - the staff were pleasant and the building iteslf has character but I really can't recommend it as it stands, and as comparably inexpensive as it is to some Milan hotels I don't think it represents good value.

We had bookd through the website, however when we arrived to check in, the staff had "forgot" to look at the website so that we had not any room booked, and proposed to move us to another hotel. Fortunately we arrived late and some customers due to arrive earlier did not check in so in the end we had a room with a lot of luck... The rooms are a bit old but clean, the breakfast good, and the staff speaks very well french and english. So a bit expensive for the services provided, but I would not discourage from booking in this establishment, however if you do CONFIRM your booking by phone first !!

Of all the places we booked through Venere.com, this hotel was by far the worst. I don't know if the hotel stuck us in this room because we were basically staying the night to catch an early train. It was awful. The room next to the reception and you could hear everything. At one point the phone kept ringing and I wanted to go and answer it to stop it from ringing. The walls were very thin indeed as you could hear the couple in the next room having "relations". I probably didn't complain at the time just because it such a short time we were there. And I wouldn't have stayed any longer.

We found this hotel small but sufficient. Since it is located close to the subway and central railway station, it made it easy to get to different parts of the city. The staff was friendly and very good at English. The breakfast however was not much of a breakfast for us who are used to a more sturdy meal. But there was a food market just outside the door on Saturday to make up for it... And the terrass in which we sat for a glass of wine in the evenings, was also very nice. All and all, we are satisfied with the Best, good value for money. But they forgot to mention that you need to bring your own hairdrier...

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in late summer. The location is alright, 5 blocks from Termini Station with bus station nearby. The room and the toilet are small. Even we asians feel the shower is exceptionally too small. Besides, we need to group the twin beds together to leave space for us to unpack our luggage. Hotel breakfast is OK for such price. No air conditioner is provided but a ceiling fan in the room can make the room air moving, hence, not suitable for a hot summer For people who want to staying without good satifaction and a location-convenient cheap price 1.5 star hotel, the hotel is one of the choice.

I am somewhat disappointed with my stay in "The Best Hotel". I would say that it is the worst hotel I have ever been in Milan. within walking distance of the train station. staff very friendly and spoke english. Garden is nice to relax in and breakfast was fine, usual wrapped croissants. however our bed sheets were ripped and the toilet made a noise during the night and the walls and doors were a little thin. nevertheless this is a good hotel for staying one night.

A double room with a cot blocking the window is NOT a triple room. The advertising in that respect was deceitful. Parking was not adequate to the number of customers; staff did not clarify whether on-street parking was safe or legal. Additional directions as to location within Bayeux would have been helpful.

Very disappointing, we cancelled a subsequent booking at the hotel. The one positive was the staff who were friendly and polite. There was no air conditioning in the room and when I requested we be moved into a room with aircon we were told that it was not working. We were left with a creaky noisy fan. We could not leave the balcony door open (which came off its hinges) as we were only one floor off street level and we did not find the area to be too safe. The room was also badly located near the reception and we had to endure the noise of everyone's comings and goings. Breakfast was awful.

Fairly uncomfortable beds, not unusual for Italy of course, poor air conditioning

Air conditioning was sub-par. Hot water was only available if you were the first person to shower in the whole hotel. I found a different hotel at a better location. I would not stay there again.

We had an interesting experience at this hotel. The first night we arrived it was in the upper 90's (very hot) and we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was broken. The hotel was full so they couldn't move us, however the staff was very friendly and helpful, and luckily had the air fixed the very next morning. Breakfast wasn't great but the location was perfect if you want to be near the train station and Corso Buenos Aires for shopping. Again the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with finding restaurants and shopping areas. We would stay here again but request a room on one of the bottom floors.

The hotel was exactly as described. Very close to central station, walking distance to anywhere you needed to go or metros to get you there. Staff was excellent, with great recommendations for restaurants etc. Everyone we encountered in the hotel spoke excellent english and was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast service was not impressive (packaged croissant, melba toasts with jams etc, coffee and juice), but as other users had already indicated this it wasn't a shock. We basically used it to have our first coffee (which was good) but ended up having our first meal elsewhere (the coffee shop around the corner by the fish market is excellent, and puts out a selection of fresh snacks in the late afternoon and they are free if you have a coffee or something - they also serve great panini). There is a market a few times a week right in front that offered a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses and breads - buy your own and eat it in the back garden of the hotel. I would definitely stay there again, the value for money spent was great.

We were very disappointed with The Best Hotel. Room was very small and had no air conditioning, although the air conditioning was declared on the website. When we complained, the Receptionist said - well, it is not working. We were offered no discount for the inconvenience. I found this unacceptable. Bathroom was extremely small. Breakfast was very basic and consisted of prepackaged croissants, rolls, tasteless juice or coffee - wasn't worth getting up for. Breakfast service was poor. Staff was unfriendly; they never even smile to you, seem to be rigidly rule-driven. But may be we were just unlucky. Anyway, we will not stay at this hotel again and we would not be recommending this hotel to others.

Good small hotel, 5 minutes walking from the Milano Centrale train station. Room was very small and no air conditioning, only a celing fan, but clean and updated. Bathroom very small too. Included Breakfast was standard with coffee, tea, orange juice and croissant/butter/jelly. 3 blocks from Lima subway station. Restaurants, cafes and several small shops a block from the hotel. Good value for the money.

Stayed one night prior to leaving Milan. Good location on quiet residential street - 4 blocks from Stazione Centrale and 3 blocks from Metro (5 min from Duomo by subway). Felt very safe. Lovely garden for lounging. Decent breakfast buffet consisting of breads, meats, cheeses, coffee, juice, etc. Small but clean rooms.
