Too expensive hotel for the standard provided. Also it was very poor that there were no english-spoken news-channels on the TV provided!

The location of the hotel was very nice! (about 5 minutes walk to the Duomo) Hotel personnel was friendly and competent. Rooms are rather old but clean. Toilet was new but very narrow. Breakfast was a small buffet ("microwave" scrambled eggs, bacon, panini, yogurt, some cereals, juice and of course, nice coffee!) I would not say cheap but reasonable for its location and a stay of one to 3 days

The room was much too noisy (trolley passing in the nearby street).I recommend earplugs! An effort could be made to spruce it up (old furniture, everything is brown or beige: depressing; it was also a bit small). The advantage of the hotel is its great location.I would return to this hotel only if given the garantee of a quieter room. People at the reception desk were friendly and competent.

The staff were uniformly freindly and helpful. THE star for me at Hotel Star, however was Maria Vittoria. She called taxis, instructed the drivers... even helped with carrying it. I can honestly say it's one of my best hotel esperiences ever. Congratulations all!

Location is perfect. The atmosphere is very welcoming and all the people working there are extremely friendly, helpful and motivated. The structure is a great 1930-40 type sadly "partially reworked" during the 70ies and could use a bit of tlc but the care for the cutomer that I have experienced there is just fantastic and overcomes all the rest. Good on Hotel Star!!

Although small and not full service for meals (the breakfast was very good and necessary items were kept cold, unlike some other hotels)- the location was perfect for a home base in the City. Rooms kept clean and tidied up twice a day. Lobby had all types of tour, travel books, and info for all excursions, museums (and in English), etc. Maria was very helpful in answering questions and offering alternatives. She was absolutely wonderful!

Stayed a weekend with my wife in Milan. The hotel was perfect for us - cosy, nice, clean and 200 m away from the Scala and a bit more from Duomo. Could manage our way just walking by. Would recommend to anyone!

Location was fabulous!! The Star hotel was a great find. The Murals around the hotel we loved. The staff were very helpful, suggesting restaurants, pubs, etc.Fanastic value for the rooms, plenty of space, ours had a walk in wardrobe and hydromassage shower. On our last morning having breakfast we were planning our next visit there! Highly recommend it.

Very pleased with our stay except for the occasional noise due to the fact the cleaner's closet was next to our room. A very minor thing given the quality of the service, location and overall good experience we had. Excellent location to the tourist sights we wanted to visit; walking distance to the Duomo (don't miss going to the roof), the Galleria, many resturants, castle. Safe area, pleasant experience-would stay here again. If you fly in to Linate Airport, make sure you take the white, official cabs lined up at the curb; as you exit the airport, you will be hit by a number of people asking if you want a taxi--they are private companies that cost much more than the white cabs. And be sure to book way in advance the tickets to the Last Supper.

The Star Hotel has got the best location, right behind Scala and just 5 mins walk to Duomo. The rooms (I had 2 rooms booked) were spacious, clean and quiet, one even has a huge bath tub. Kettles were provided in every room which was a bonus (it's the only hotel provided during my stay in Italy). The staff were very helpful. Free internet service at the lobby. The only flaw perhaps was the tiny breakfast area with just less than 20 seats.

The hotel location was excellent. The morning staff were very helpful and efficient, but at other times of the day, dense and unhelpful. The breakfasts were lovely and the waitress a delight. The Hotel is very conveniently placed close to the Duomo, the Scala Theater and the corporate center of Milan. It is in a very quiet small street, very convenient to reach touristic sites and banks. Breakfast was ok and public rooms have nice fourniture and have been freshly remade. On the contrary the room was really old, although very clean, and definitely not as spacious as one would expect for the price. Fourniture dated back to the sixties, I would say, and the promised hydromassage or sauna did look a bit old and not really inviting as well. The reception was not really friendly (as far too often in Italy) and not terribly collaborative in case of need. They also entered the room while we were out for dinner, for unknown reasons.

We were very pleased with the hotel which was lieterally beside the attractions we intended to visit namely, the Duomo and La Scalla and reasonably close to the Dominican Friary with Michael Angelo's painting The Last Supper. The reception staff were most helpful with Vittoria and Bruno providing assistance for any request and sound advice on where to go, how to get there and good recommendations on where to eat. The night we arrived we had a late dinner at the Bella Vista right around the corner from the Hotel Star and the following night enjoyed a very good dinner at Emilia and Carlo's Restaurant about a five minute walk from the hotel. Hotel Star is located on a small street close to the Metro and main bus lines which granted access to all parts of the city without any problem. Each morning the hotel served an ample breakfast that included scrambled eggs and italian ham. We would definitely return.

Unfortunately, we were only in Milan for one night, but fortunately we stayed at the perfect hotel for such a short stay. What a location !! 2-3 minutes walk to the best shopping and sights in Milan. The hotel staff were also spot on, (I think we were met by the owner). Our room was ready on time and we were provided with all the info we needed. The room was great, the bed was and pillows really comfortable and bathroom near new. Although the hotel is very central, it is located on a quiet little street. We had a great night sleep. We will be back to stay at the Hotel Star for sure. 5 Stars from me !!

I chose the Star because of its proximity to La Scala since we were going to an opera there. The hotel is well positioned around the corner from la Scala and also close to the Duomo/Galleria in one direction and an easy walk to Brera in the other direction. This hotel was not as charming as others we stayed in but it was clean and comfortable. There was a little noise from the trams at night. Staff were efficient and helpful when I needed to change my booking and also at arranging transport and restaurant bookings. The initial welcoming was a little curt.

The Hotel Star is wonderful - I am returning to Milan next week and although I tried to rebook, they were full. (very disappointing!) The location is very convenient to the central Duomo area, and there is a really lovely pizza retaurant around the corner with a good wine list and silver candelabras on all the tables. The tiny sidestreet keeps the property rather tranquil, but can be confusing to find at first. The single room I had was small, but perfectly adequate. The bathroom was new, with a spa shower.

I don't have any complains about my stay at Hotel Star. Perfect location - all imported sites are in walking distance. The terraces of the rooms on the last floor, where was mine, are with high wall enclosure (perfect for sunbathing on nude during the siesta time) which acts as acoustical barrier for the noise from the street. The continental breakfast was decent. The young blond lady on the reception desk was very helpful with her knowledge, that a tourist will need. I will be back.

We found the hotel in the internet and chose it because of its absolutely central position: Scala, Duomo,Castello,Pinacoteca, underground and tram stations are practically round the corner. The old building in a quiet street is not attractive from the outside, but the moment you enter you find that the interior is well equipped, the rooms are small, maybe the wardrobe is too small for a longer stay (we chose a standard room), but the beds are excellent, breakfast is good, and the service is really something to write home about. Everybody is kind and helpful, and the lady at the reception excels them all.If we decide to go to Milano again, we will certainly put up at the Star!

Star Hotel is well placed for visiting Milan being close to both the Cathedral and La Scala. The hotel is in a fairly quiet , narrow street.

It was extremely noisy in my room. The staff was not friendly. There appeared to be a video camera mounted on the ceiling. I would never stay at this place again.

Overall a very nice hotel. Staff were particularly helpful and were patient as I practiced my Italian and understanding when we needed to switch to english. Location was very central and convenient to duomo and metro. However, the proximity to the main street resulted in noise from the street cars as they rumbled down the track from 8 am until midnight. This was tolerable, but a distraction. I would recommend with this caviat and personally stay there again.

Hotel front desk personnel were not intereseted in providing advice or help with tourist questions. Front desk gave up quite quickly when asked to try and make a reservation to see The Last Supper. Front desk was absolutly no help and had no interest in providing information on how best to acquire La Scala Opera tickets.

What a pleasure this hotel was. We enjoyed it very much - the welcome from the desk and the recommendation for a lunch restuarant nearby was excellent - our best meal in Italy. Its position is marvelous especially if you are going to La Scala and just around the corner from the Duomo. I cant thank them enough as we had been staying at a very uncomfortable B&B in Turin. To end up here for our last night in Italy was a real pleasure. I will return. Jill James

The most welcoming feature about the Star was Maria Vittoria on the reception desk. She gave us tips for restaurants, assistance in finding more remote places we were searching and she was always diplomatic and informed, especially about the striking transit workers. The breakfast was good including cereal meats, cheese, buns and juice. We were well situated to visit the Duomo, La Scala, Via Montenapoleone, Castello Sfozeco, The Brera, Chiesa Maria della Grazie. We would go back

Hotel Star's location is extremely convenience, but when you arrive at the first evening, may be you can take a Taxi from the Cadorna Airport Express Train Station to hotel directly, it cost around EUR 6~7 only, so convience!! Very close to the Shopping Area and Duomo, you can drop down your stuff after a crazy shopping. If I travel to Milan again, I will stay with this hotel again!

Great location and area, a few blocks to La Scala, the Domo and subway stops. That along with a bright front desk person, Victoria, who was most helpful with many of our question. The included hotel breakfast was not fancy but was plenty and was a perfect way to start the day. When a subway strike took place we even walked from the railway station to our hotel with 3 bags. It took us an hour but was an adventure. Our travel to Milan was part of our vacation and it was our third and most enjoyable vist to Milan. I would have no problem in recomending the Star to any of my friends visiting Milan.

This hotel is a great location for visiting Central Milan. Everything is within walking distance including the trams and metro. Well equipped rooms just a litle noisy at night if the windows are opened but dont let that stop you staying here. The staff at reception were friendly, competent and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Perhaps the hotel should arrange a special rate with the car park facility they recommend. Parking in Milan can be very expensive.
