The hotel is clean and reasonably confortable. The room we had faced an internal elevated courtyard; the room are not very spacious (typical of the area?) the shower was particularly cramped and very uncomfortable. Booking our return flight was somewhat difficult due to the poor internet facility ( if you do not have your own laptop) staff was helpfull (still booked the wrong seats). The hotel is very conveniently located, a stone throw from the Duomo and Castello Sforzesco

A delightful, if basic, hotel. The rooms are all you need for a city break: clean, enough room to swing the proverbial, with excellent showers. The staff were friendly and very helpful; we had three excellent meals on the back of their recommendation. And all just 5 minutes walk from the centre.

Worst accomodation ever! Probably the refurbished room will be better but the other rooms are absolutely old and uncomfortable. The bathroom is old and very small. Some travellers tell about cockroaches in the bathroom. Staff polite but absolutely not cooperative.

The location of the Hotel Star in the Centro Storico of Milan is fantastic for easy walking to all the centrally situated attractions including the Duomo, La Scala and designer shopping! Reception staff were also very helpful with advice on best means of transport to Malpensa airport, since we had arrived from Lake Como. Very well equipped - only the decor and furniture within the room a little odd. Good breakfast. Would stay again.

Highly recommended, mainly for its very friendly staff and excellent location within easy walking distance of everything. Partly old rooms, but well kept and clean. And a complete novelty for an Italian hotel: comfortable beds! A bit on the pricey side, but worth it consideting the location.

This was my second visit to this hotel and I will not return. It is sadly in need of a make-over (paint, rugs, bathroom, etc). It's primary attraction right now is its excellent location, but it has become quite run down. A minor annoyance was the fact they would not print my boarding pass and sent me to an internet site in the metro station. Really!

The location of the hotel was very nice! (about 5 minutes walk to the Duomo) Hotel personnel was friendly and competent. Rooms are rather old but clean. Toilet was new but very narrow. Breakfast was a small buffet ("microwave" scrambled eggs, bacon, panini, yogurt, some cereals, juice and of course, nice coffee!) I would not say cheap but reasonable for its location and a stay of one to 3 days

The room was much too noisy (trolley passing in the nearby street).I recommend earplugs! An effort could be made to spruce it up (old furniture, everything is brown or beige: depressing; it was also a bit small). The advantage of the hotel is its great location.I would return to this hotel only if given the garantee of a quieter room. People at the reception desk were friendly and competent.

Location is perfect. The atmosphere is very welcoming and all the people working there are extremely friendly, helpful and motivated. The structure is a great 1930-40 type sadly "partially reworked" during the 70ies and could use a bit of tlc but the care for the cutomer that I have experienced there is just fantastic and overcomes all the rest. Good on Hotel Star!!

Although small and not full service for meals (the breakfast was very good and necessary items were kept cold, unlike some other hotels)- the location was perfect for a home base in the City. Rooms kept clean and tidied up twice a day. Lobby had all types of tour, travel books, and info for all excursions, museums (and in English), etc. Maria was very helpful in answering questions and offering alternatives. She was absolutely wonderful!

Very pleased with our stay except for the occasional noise due to the fact the cleaner's closet was next to our room. A very minor thing given the quality of the service, location and overall good experience we had. Excellent location to the tourist sights we wanted to visit; walking distance to the Duomo (don't miss going to the roof), the Galleria, many resturants, castle. Safe area, pleasant experience-would stay here again. If you fly in to Linate Airport, make sure you take the white, official cabs lined up at the curb; as you exit the airport, you will be hit by a number of people asking if you want a taxi--they are private companies that cost much more than the white cabs. And be sure to book way in advance the tickets to the Last Supper.

The Star Hotel has got the best location, right behind Scala and just 5 mins walk to Duomo. The rooms (I had 2 rooms booked) were spacious, clean and quiet, one even has a huge bath tub. Kettles were provided in every room which was a bonus (it's the only hotel provided during my stay in Italy). The staff were very helpful. Free internet service at the lobby. The only flaw perhaps was the tiny breakfast area with just less than 20 seats.

The hotel location was excellent. The morning staff were very helpful and efficient, but at other times of the day, dense and unhelpful. The breakfasts were lovely and the waitress a delight. The Hotel is very conveniently placed close to the Duomo, the Scala Theater and the corporate center of Milan. It is in a very quiet small street, very convenient to reach touristic sites and banks. Breakfast was ok and public rooms have nice fourniture and have been freshly remade. On the contrary the room was really old, although very clean, and definitely not as spacious as one would expect for the price. Fourniture dated back to the sixties, I would say, and the promised hydromassage or sauna did look a bit old and not really inviting as well. The reception was not really friendly (as far too often in Italy) and not terribly collaborative in case of need. They also entered the room while we were out for dinner, for unknown reasons.

We were very pleased with the hotel which was lieterally beside the attractions we intended to visit namely, the Duomo and La Scalla and reasonably close to the Dominican Friary with Michael Angelo's painting The Last Supper. The reception staff were most helpful with Vittoria and Bruno providing assistance for any request and sound advice on where to go, how to get there and good recommendations on where to eat. The night we arrived we had a late dinner at the Bella Vista right around the corner from the Hotel Star and the following night enjoyed a very good dinner at Emilia and Carlo's Restaurant about a five minute walk from the hotel. Hotel Star is located on a small street close to the Metro and main bus lines which granted access to all parts of the city without any problem. Each morning the hotel served an ample breakfast that included scrambled eggs and italian ham. We would definitely return.

Unfortunately, we were only in Milan for one night, but fortunately we stayed at the perfect hotel for such a short stay. What a location !! 2-3 minutes walk to the best shopping and sights in Milan. The hotel staff were also spot on, (I think we were met by the owner). Our room was ready on time and we were provided with all the info we needed. The room was great, the bed was and pillows really comfortable and bathroom near new. Although the hotel is very central, it is located on a quiet little street. We had a great night sleep. We will be back to stay at the Hotel Star for sure. 5 Stars from me !!

I chose the Star because of its proximity to La Scala since we were going to an opera there. The hotel is well positioned around the corner from la Scala and also close to the Duomo/Galleria in one direction and an easy walk to Brera in the other direction. This hotel was not as charming as others we stayed in but it was clean and comfortable. There was a little noise from the trams at night. Staff were efficient and helpful when I needed to change my booking and also at arranging transport and restaurant bookings. The initial welcoming was a little curt.

The Hotel Star is wonderful - I am returning to Milan next week and although I tried to rebook, they were full. (very disappointing!) The location is very convenient to the central Duomo area, and there is a really lovely pizza retaurant around the corner with a good wine list and silver candelabras on all the tables. The tiny sidestreet keeps the property rather tranquil, but can be confusing to find at first. The single room I had was small, but perfectly adequate. The bathroom was new, with a spa shower.

I don't have any complains about my stay at Hotel Star. Perfect location - all imported sites are in walking distance. The terraces of the rooms on the last floor, where was mine, are with high wall enclosure (perfect for sunbathing on nude during the siesta time) which acts as acoustical barrier for the noise from the street. The continental breakfast was decent. The young blond lady on the reception desk was very helpful with her knowledge, that a tourist will need. I will be back.

So delightful to find an efficiently run hotel for a VERY reasonable price in the center of Milan. I was able to walk everywhere. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room (single) was small but spacious enough and well appointed with a small balcony with table and two chairs. Bathroom was clean and of good size with a well functioning shower. The hotel is no louder than any other I'd expect in the middle of the city. Actually it's on a quiet side street and with the windows closed it is quite tolerable. Highly recommended for a value hotel!

If one accepts that hotels in Milan will be expensive then the Star is not overpriced. The proximity of the hotel to la Scala compensated for the slightly cramped nature of the accomodation.

This hotel is at a very convenient location. You can literaly walk to all the major sights. The staff are friendly and competent. It was really nice to have someone take my lugguge and guide me to the room. The instruction on Venere is not very clear in terms of how to find the hotel. I hope they can post a better direction.

An excellent location and very welcoming hotel staff! Very close to everything. The rooms are a little tiny, but you get exactly what you pay for. That said, I was pleasantly suprised to find a balcony off my room which was very enjoyable! Overall a great hotel, great people, in a fabulous location.

Bed is not comfortable and old. Severe creaking noise of bed from upper floor come down to down floor. No internet access service is provided to each room. Internet connection is only possible by wireless access at hotel lobby.

We found the hotel in the internet and chose it because of its absolutely central position: Scala, Duomo,Castello,Pinacoteca, underground and tram stations are practically round the corner. The old building in a quiet street is not attractive from the outside, but the moment you enter you find that the interior is well equipped, the rooms are small, maybe the wardrobe is too small for a longer stay (we chose a standard room), but the beds are excellent, breakfast is good, and the service is really something to write home about. Everybody is kind and helpful, and the lady at the reception excels them all.If we decide to go to Milano again, we will certainly put up at the Star!

I stayed 2 days with my daughter. The hotel located very close to historical places. The room keeps clean allways by cleaning stuff, but bath room was very small. Ms Vittoria was very kind and her advice was very helpful and accurated. The room rate in Milan are so expensive.

Star Hotel is well placed for visiting Milan being close to both the Cathedral and La Scala. The hotel is in a fairly quiet , narrow street. Our room, which was at the rear of the hotel was quiet and comfortable - it might be noisier closer to the street. There are trams at the end of the street so it is easy to get around if you do not wish to walk. We found the staff excellent and would recommend to hotel to others.

I only stayed one night but everything was more than acceptable. Only observation was that my room, a small, single room, was very warm and I was unable to shut the radiator down. Other than that no complaints. All staff very pleasant and helpful.

Excellent the welcoming of the hotel. The reception employer is very good. I had been to Milan four times, but The Star is the best hotel I had stayed with the best localization for all shopping, lunch, dinner, Opera and Brera Museum. Newt time I will stay in the Star Hotel surely. Victor Mori

Great location. Helpful and friendly staff. As for number and type of room. I really don't know about rooms other than mine, but I had to answer the question to continue! As for quietness of rooms, no problem in winter with windows closed, but in warmer weather this could be a problem. Room fine, but balcony needs "refreshing".

Letto comodo e spazioso. TV satellitare. Finestre apribili normalmente o a vasistas.

It was extremely noisy in my room. The staff was not friendly. There appeared to be a video camera mounted on the ceiling. I would never stay at this place again.
