Hotel St. George - Milan
Viale Tunisia 9 - Milan
877-662-6988This modern hotel is fully air conditioned and enjoys a very peaceful setting despite its central location.
The Porta Venezia underground stop, which is just a few steps from the hotel allows quick and easy access to all of the major attractions of the city.
Guests can relax in the nice bar, with a cocktail or a drink.
In my view it is a 3 star hotel, not 4.

Hotel St. George did not meet my expectation. Its only saving grace is that the front desk personnel have all been very accommodating, helpful and friendly.

This is a modern and comfortable hotel. We were warmly welcomed by the gentleman on reception, who was also very helpful later on with information, etc. The room was clean, modern and comfortable and lovely and cool due to the air conditioning. It also had a huge full-length mirror, which I've found rare in hotels. The bathroom was good, though the shower flooded the bathroom floor whenever used. The breakfast was lvoely with a wide selection of cheese, meat, cakes, pastries, cereal and breads. Unfortunately, there was only a tired-looking bowl of (unseasonal) apples and oranges for fruit which was disappointing. Parking was expensive, though this will be the case any where in central Milan. So the hotel cannot be faulted on that.

This hotel is a few subway stops from the central of town. As in many European hotels, there are no alarm clocks in the room, so you might want to bring your own. Also, if you are not used to leaving your key with the front desk, this might throw you off. At several of our hotels in Europe, you leave your single room key with the front desk, so they know when you are away. Security has never been a problem with this practice. Our room had a nice balcony that overlooked the neighborhood, which was an added bonus. If you want a clean, safe, affordable, and a comfortable size hotel room (for a European hotel) that is a hop-skip-and-a-jump away for the center of town, this is an excellent hotel. The complementary breakfast was good. The staff was friendly, but they don't go out of their way to help you. It is a good overall pick and we were satisfied with your stay.

We stayed 3 nights. All four travellers agreed that the hotel was very clean (crisp white linen, soft fluffy bath towels), great choice of breakfast, although the boiled water was somewhat cool. However the staff soon remedied any problems. The reception staff were extremely efficient, helpful and charming. This hotel is an excellent location, offering great value for money, and is one without doubt we shall stay at again.

I stayed there during Micam fair and the price was the maximum(350euro/night). Reception desk of the hotel is quite small to stay more than 4 persons with luggages. Very nice hotel but price is too high during fair period.

Location of the hotel is good easy walking distance to duomo area and located close to the metro for anything needed further, the reception staff are excellent very freindly and informative, breakfast was acceptable although the waitress was not the most friendly,we had a number of rooms as we were in a group and the quality and fittings of the rooms varied and are of an average standard, overall i would not class this hotel as a 4 star but 3. if it was not for the location and helpfullness of the reception staff i probably wouldnt stay here again

Very nice welcome Only TV could not be used . Personal was very professionnal . we have received a lot of advises regarding restaurants , metro, taxis , museum etc The beakfast was excellent with plenty of coffee. The hotel was very central located near the metro main line. There was only some noise at 6AM due to the passage of the waste collecting lorry.

The bathroom is quite special: when you take a shower the floor of it becomes very slipery and then the water flows through the whole bathroom leaving it socked.

Our reservation was not actually reserved when we arrived which resulted in a temporary allocation in a twin room, before being moved to a double room the next day. This was a discrepancy related to Veneres apparently, the hotel had no idea who we were. However they accommodated us well and we were given a friendly and helpful service from all members of staff. Breakfast was great, and for future reference to all!!: You can see Opera at La Scala for E5 or E10, if you are willing to queue rather than booking in advance which costs literally hundreds; we didn't find this out till the day we left! Il Duomo is well worth a visit, and watch out for excessively friendly Africans (Gambians and Senegalese in particular)offering you free and friendly gifts for good luck, then demanding paper money and lots of it in exchange for your "elefanto fortunata"! The lakes region is marvelous and a visit to Lake Como is highly recommended, only 40 minutes on the train bound for Schaffhausen, a little more expensive than Milan, but cooler and lots of family activities. In Milan, the canal area is fantastic for a night out, many pubs and restaurants including riverboats etc for great cocktails and ambience. Taxi back to hotel about E12, frantic and exciting. Crossing the road in Milan is quite an experience, the traffic stops for you! So get used to, on most routes, walking out in the road and allowing drivers to let you pass!

The St George is a smallish hotel on a fairly busy street. It's close to the Corso Buenos Aires and the Statizione Centrale. It was generally good: firm beds, clean rooms, helpful staff. It was good value but minimalist for a four star hotel: no bath, no restaurant, only one member of staff at reception handling everything. No hot food at breakfast. Only one free English TV channel: CNN. Main negative was a certain amount of traffic noise in the night.

We stayed at Milano's St. George for two nights. The room was nice, big and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful ... always there to help! Breakfast was normal but not great. The location was very good, only two blocks away from the subway and the shopping zone of Corso Buenos Aires.

This was the first time we stayed at the Hotel St George. The rooms were basic and uninspiring, however, the staff were very welcoming and the location was excellent, just a 15 min walk into the Piazza Duomo and there was a Metro station just around the corner. For the budget concious traveller, the Hotel St George is a great place to stay.

WE STAYED IN ONE OF THE ROOMS THAT HAD BEEN RECENTLY RE-FURBISHED - IT WAS VERY NICE OF AN EXCELLENT STANDARD. THE HOTEL IS WITHIN EASY ACCESS BY TAXI FROM MILAN CENTRAL STATION. VERY EASY WALKING DISTANCE TO THE DUOMO. GOOD BREAKFAST - VERY PLEASANTLY SERVED. THE TAXI WE ORDERED FOR AN EARLY MORNING PICK-UP WAS WAITING FOR US AS REQUESTED. GOOD HOTEL FOR LOCATION FOR THE SHOPS.

Polite, welcoming employees. Large room. Good location close to underground metro station. Overal a very good price/quality ratio. Only drawback: my room did not have a wify connection and they did not have a cable I could borrow for a wired broadband connection (which apparently my room was capable of).

The Hotel St George surpassed our expectations. We booked a regular room, but we allocated a suite. It was spacious and very comfortable, with everything we needed. The staff at reception were always helpful and courteous. We thought we had booked just the room, so only discovered as we were checking out and settling our bill that we could have had breakfast! It didn't matter, because there was a great little bar close by. Another bonus was that the bill was for less than we had been quoted when we booked - not sure how that happened! This is an excellent hotel and a great base for seeing Milan. Also we had a fabulous seafood meal at the Ristorante Mediterranea in Piazza Cincinato, just a couple of blocks away.

We were group of business and got 3 suite single rooms. Room is spacious like too much for single. Welcoming was good, as they were willing to let us check-in when we came there to leave our baggages even at 9:00am. Price is very nice. Surround is nice for me, but other Jpaneses non spoken English were afraid for many young peoples in night bar, cinema, cafe, dicotique etc around this hotel.

Very good hotel, at a reasonable quality / price ratio as related to Milano, located at a reasonable walking distance (or very short metro distance) from city centre. We had a 3-persons "junior suite", very comfortable and efficiently isolated from the noise of the street. The only negative aspect is related to parking: the recommended garage is very expensive (36 euro from Thursday late evening to Saturday early morning).

Travelling with a two year old the room provided was very suitable. It was spacious, clean and the cot provided was in good condition. Having the separate sitting area was ideal. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and courteous and spoke English very well. Breakfast was a cold buffet and our wee boy was happy to see cornflakes and rice crispies along with fresh fruit. Excellent location for travelling as the metro was just at the end of the street. The decor in the studio we were in was dated (stuck in the eighties) so didn't correspond to the web picture but it was a nice room. Enjoyed our stay. Good value for the money.
