The Soperga is a very nice, comfortable hotel, recently refurbished in a modern style. It was nice to find a comfortable bar to relax in. The hotel is well located for the Central Station and Metro. We could not fault the cleanliness nor comfort. We shall be back next time we need to overnight near the central station.

Staff welcoming and helpful .The only thing that i didnt like is that when the customers are having breakfast they can hear all the staff inside the kitchen having a chat with loud volume .I didnt think that this was nice !Apart from that the hotel was very easy to reach and close to everything !!The staff at the reception was very professional !!well done ..

About ten minutes by feet with luggage from Milan train station and easy to find the location. The room is good (a real hotel)and just a little noisy because my room is near the street. The reception staff is not very welcome but helpful for your questions.

Fabulous hotel, well run, nicely remodeled. Breakfast included and it was excellent. Very professional staff. We had a little trouble finding it as there are two blocks with #24 and it was farther than the 300 meters stated.

This hotel was lovely. We stayed in a room that had recently been renovated. Ask for a room on the first floor. Abundant breakfast selections. Eduardo was very kind as well, he recommended a great restaurant nearby, Da Sabatino. Buon Viaggio!

I asked several minor questions regarding a restaurant I wanted to locate and go to. Edwardo was at the desk and was not at all busy There was no one else there. He was rude and not at all helpful. Because of him, I would never go to this hotel again. He told me at one point that he did not just work at the hotel for me. He also did not allow me to copy the directions to the restaurant that he showed me on a map on his desk computer. I could look but not copy. He told me I should go up to the room and buy their internet access for a daily charge of 10 euros. He did the rolling of the eyes ---impatient thing several times. He needs lessons in customer assistance or a transfer to another job. I still get upset thinking about un-helpful he was. He told me I would need taxi service to the restaurant for 30 euros when I could have taken public transportation and walked a block or two----this is after I requested directions using public transportation. Sorry Hotel Soperga, you get a very low score because of Edwardo. Everyone else at the hotel was super nice and no complaints with anyone else.

The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Milan Central Train Station, fairly quiet without shops around. Size of room is acceptable by European standard and the washoom is very large. However, the room is worn out and dirty especially the carpet so inside the room we do not feel comfortable. Luckily, the washroom and the bed linen are very clean so this is the consolation. The hotel is in the process of renovation and refurbishing and in fact rooms on the 1st floor have been completely renewed but we were declined to change even we are willing to pay more, as allegedly reserved for a tour group. The breakfast room in the basement also completely renewed and looks modern and comfortable. Breakfast is OK for 10 Euro. Overall, this hotel can be recommended after complete renvoation.

We had two short stays here at the front and back ends of our vacation and Hotel Soperga suited our needs perfectly. Close to the station and easy to find, efficient staff – our wake-up call to get us to the airport came right on time – clean rooms. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby and the historical centre of Milan is reachable via metro or on foot if you enjoy walking. The area is lived in, which means it isn’t quiet, though not all rooms face onto the main street. Breakfast was good with very decent coffee served by a cheerful staff. Our only gripe was that curse of 90% of Italian hotels – odd plumbing. In our first room the basin plug couldn’t hold water, in our second the basin wouldn’t drain. Not a big deal but using a couple of gallons of hot water to get a shave is an awful waste of resources. We would certainly stay at the Soperga again.

Good hotel only a short walk to Central Station. Area not so good but an excellent restaurant close by. Directions were almost non-extistent ("300 meters from Central Station")We caught a cab from the station because of poor directions but it is an easy walk even with luggage. Good rooms and bathrooms; Would love access to an iron. English speaking staff are helpful, there is a good bar to have a relaxing drink. Good value for money and excellent breakfast.

Great location, so close to Stazione Centrale and to the red, green and yellow Metro lines. Breakfast room is really nice (and new); nice to have fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet. Too bad they run out of fresh bread & croissants if you're not down by 9 am. The renovated room was great (but rather small) - the safe is a nice plus, bathroom is large and clean. Too bad there is no public computer with internet. Would definitely recommend staying there - it's the best 3 Star hotel I've stayed at in Milano so far.

We were very satisfied with Hotel Soperga. We had read that the area around was seedy, but we thought it was fine. There is even an excellent restaurant (The Dinky) within 2 blocks, and access to the train station and metro is easy and close. The staff was friendly and very welcoming, and the breakfasts were among the best we had on our trip. The rooms are not large, but they are clean, comfortable, and everything was in working order.

Hotel is quite ok for the short stay - 1-2 days. The location is close to Central station (about 5-10 minites with luggage) by walk. We booked 2 twins for 4 persons, but 1 person could not come, so the hotel suggested us 1 double and 1 twin rooms without any compensations. Double rooom was awfull - too small, without renovation, no soundprof - I heard everything from the next room! The twin room was rather good, with renovation, no problem with quiteness.

At last a well spaced out bathroom, well tiled with good fittings. Decor was nice and a large window too. Reception recommended a close by restaurant, which was really good. Breakfast was fab and plentiful too. My mistake in booking the hotel next to the 'wrong' station as the one 300m away didn't go to airport BUT as a stroke of luck, the bus shuttle was 300m away 'phew'

Good location, especially if you catch a train from Milano Central Railway Station. The airport shuttle stops right next to the Station and it's 5-7 min walk to the hotel. The area is not very pleasant after dark but areas close to railway stations never are. 10 min walk to Loreto metro station where one can get Linea 1 or 3 to the Duomo or Cadorna train station. Breakfast is OK, nothing extraordinary, after all it's a 3-star hotel, not the Hilton. Good quality for the price.

Soperga is at walking distance to the trains station, we could walk with a big luggage. It is however a little bir far away from metro stattion (1-1.5 kms), which you should use to reach city centre/tourist attractions. We knew that it was far away from city centre, but this did not put us off since we were supposed to go there for sleeping anyway. The breakfast was good, but the room they gave us was on the basement and had a very tiny little window.

The hotel could deserve 9 as mark of appreciation, but they miss it because of their lack of elegance as regards the internet connection they charge , like the cable tv in rooms For the internet, and I told the receptionist, it is a petty policy: all the hotels where I stay include this service for use in room at at the worst in the lobby I did not use their chargeable service, also as a matter of principle the hotels in Milan are the only ones in Europe to be so narrow minded and continue to induly charge an elementary service patrick pace France

This was our second stay at Soperga - we stayed last year also over Xmas, during which time a gold bracelet went missing. Although the hotel staff were not so helpful over this, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to stay again this year. Not such a good idea. On our first morning, we were woken at the crack of dawn by a thunderous noise which turned out to be the shower from next door. The reception said that the occupants were up early for business, as if this was an excuse for the poor sound isolation, and gave us another room. Although this was slightly better, we suffered further noise from the room above, and rude service from the reception and in general the stay was not so pleasant. Rooms are OK though, if you have good ear muffs. Also, be aware that the surrounding area is a thieves paradise - chain your handbag/ wallets to your neck if you want to hang on to them.

We chose the Soperga for its low price, proximity to the train station and airport shuttle, and early start time for breakfast, since we were spending just one night before flying back to the U.S. the next morning. The hotel is very convenient for those who travel to and from the central station of Milan. The room we were given was facing the courtyard, therefore it is quite quiet. Staff are friendly. For eating out, there are plenty of choices within 15 minutes' walk. There is no English TV channel in its rooms. For a hotel that caters for international travellers, I think a BBC or CNN is a must.

The Hotel doesn't have an internet station and this can be a problem. It would be sufficient to have one computer with free access that could be used by all guests placed in the reception area. The Hotel Soperga is located very close to the train station and this is useful if you're on a short stay. The rooms are clean and that is very important. I would recommend this hotel for its close proximity to the main central station which is where you pick up your airport transfer from. Our room was a little small and dark and in need of a bit of decorating. The beds were very narrow too. However breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful and informative. There is not much to do though in the area around this hotel so travelling to the main sites will involve a short tram or metro ride.

This was the first time I stayed at Hotel Soperga. The room was clean and nicely kept, though a little small. The location is extremely convenient. It is just 3 blocks from the train station, which is where the Malpensa bus lets you off too. It is a nice jumping off point for day trips for the same reason. There is a very good, very reasonably priced restaurant just one block away. Metro is convenient for getting downtown.

Only complaint is bathroom; there was mildew/mold growing in the corner up to the ceiling, and the shower nozzle is such that it caused the bathroom floor to get covered when using the shower. The room was tiny but had everything I needed, including a TV. The shower was small but worked well and I have known smaller. Yes, you could put your chin in the sink while sitting on the toilet and the walls are a little thin. Don't forget your earplugs, as I did. Everything was spotless. Very convenient for the station and with a great, reasonably priced restaurant just 30 metres away as recommended by the friendly barman. For the price, I highly recommend it.

We stayed at hotel soperga in sep 6 2006 and the hotel i thought was great, there was 6 of us irish guys and i dont think we were the most popular in the hotel after out nights out in the town:) maybe we were a small bit noisey, the metro is maybe 7 mins walk in an area thats really nice and that will connect you to most parts of the city,if you want the night life visit corso como where milans finest strut their stuff, although milan is not the most exciting city in the world for me and 6 alco's from ireland i'd come back here again (if they left me) its a lovely hotel with very helpfull staff P.S if your gonna visit the san siro for a game bring some ID like passport or drivers licence because they want to clamp down on banned supporters entering the ground and they ask for ID

It is very nice, that the hotel is situated near to the Central Station (where you arrive and leave with the bus from the airport) and near to the metro stations, so you can ealily come to the center and arround Milan.

The hotel Soperga was a perfect choice for us travelling in Milan on a budget. Located near the main train station it was easy to get to. A little longer walk was required to the Metro station, and the walk back to the hotel from the Metro in the evening was a little "iffy" (dark and not the best area) but we had no trouble in the end. The breakfast provided was more than adequate and included cereal, yogurt, fruit, sliced meats and cheeses, croissants and of course those awful Italian white buns that you can take someone's eye out with. And coffee, tea, hot choclate. We didn't go hungry here! Its certainly not a 4 star hotel, but we would go back if ever in Milan again.

The hotel is handily placed for Milans Stazione central,is in a quiet location and is only a five minute walk from Loreto metro station which gets you from hotel to Duomo square in 20 minutes, all in all value for money.

The room was not in a very new shape. Hotel felt a bit old, but it's alright for the money you pay. 5 mins walking to the central station, quiet convenient. Breakfast was good but no warm dishes.

Relation price/quality is OK. Very good localization (close to Railway Station), although this zone is not very nice.

My poor rating for the welcome and competence of staff is due to the welcome received upon checking in to the hotel. When we left we had a different employee who was wonderful! He was an older man with personality and obviously used to working with customers.

Our stay was good, but hotel is not suitable for small children...there was not a children chair in the restaurant, it was not possible to get with the children buggy into a lift, not even into a room (too narrov doors). But on the other hand, personel in recepcion and specially in the restaurant was very nice and friendly. We would recommend the hotel to a couple or groupt without children. It has a very good position.

Soperga is a descent value for money. We have been there in midsummer and what was killing us was the idiotic rule for switching AC off at night - it was becomming so unbearably hot while at the same time AC was switched on at 07.30 in the morning and was keeping temperature normal all day - i.e. when a normal tourist is typically not there. Crazy!!! We have asked and argued about that several times but received one and only answer - "this is how we proceed!". Otherwise the property is close to the Centralle Railway station but pretty far from its centrall entrance - be prepared to walk some 10 minutes there and - be sure to check the other surrounding metro stations - there are two which appear closer than the main cross at Centrale plaza. Breakfast was real good and THE COFFEE WAS JUST FANTASTIC.Staf was helpful, english they speak at therecption desk, however varies from poor to excelent. Parking offered on the side will cost you some 30 euros per day and parking close to the hotel on the sidewalk or in the street is a matter of luck - try late at night.General overview for Soperga - good but there are better for this price and at better locations very close by.
