Friendly staff, rooms were clean. The heating was making a bit of noise at night, and if switched off, was getting cold in the room. Breakfast was very good, not a typical Italian breakfast (croissants and coffee), was much more rich. Metro really close, red metro line, took you directly to the center - Duomo. But also walking distance, 30 minutes walk only. Overall was a nice stay for couple of nights, would definitely recommend. for the price is the best you can get in Milano.

A good room in a great example of a reasonably historic Italian apartment building. Although the bathroom was not ensuite it was keyed and dedicated to just our room and was located across a hallway shared with three other rooms (the whole hotel). The bathroom (like too many hotel bathrooms) was beautiful shiny tiles that proved very slippery when wet. The breakfasts included were good but were not available until 8.30am. which caused some problems for us on check-out day. The room was well furnished with comfortable beds but our sleep was disturbed by a very early starting building site just a few metres away from the window. This has happened to us before and it is a shame hotels do not declare these problems. A great location overlooking a beautiful church and only a few metres from shops, restaurants and the centre of Verona. For all the good things about this hotel a strange door locking system that would allow someone to deadlock everyone inside from the external door without an obvious means of undeadlocking from the inside concerned me but did not concern the manager who welcomed us. This was a niggling issue throughout my stay there. I am frequently surprised at oversights such as this in small hotels and it is particularly of concern when I have chosen accommodation for my family.

An absolutely POSITIVE judgement, clean and nice room, bathroom, good the included breakfast, nice personnel (all). The only flaw is my room was on the street side, which is near Corso Buenos Aires, a bit noisy (also at night). Probably rooms in the other side(s) are more quiet. Anyway I surely will return here when in Milan, great quality (three REAL stars) at a really convenient price.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Two comments though relevant to disabled people: though there are rooms for disabled, there are several stairs at the entrance and accessing the elevator, so one needs to ask for assitance (mobile ramp) if one uses a wheel chair. In addition, the breakfast room is on a floor inacessible by elevator, and this was not clear to us in the hotel site.

I really enjoy my staying at Milan , hotel Serena :) May be only the reception guy was not so welcome as I imagine it , but I suppose it is normal for foreins .Also as I read the comments , there is really noise , it is not so quite .The rooms was not so big , but we were 4 girls in 1 room , so it was ok :) The location of the hotel is excellent .It is exactly the center and near to all seeing sights . The metro station is 2 minutes far from hotel. As I said great 2 days and 3 night spend in Milan.

In the morning at 8am the cleaner(I think!)opened my locked door, looked inside and went away!!!I didnt understand anything! anyway hotel and rooms are clean, not very big.doors and walls are thin and hall is narrow,so you hear all the noise inside the room.breakfast ok, reception not bad.staff was helpful and kind(except the woman in the reception)tutto sommato non era male, era pulite però troppo rumoroso!!la colazione non era ricca ma normale.ci sta per 1-2 giorni ma non di più!

If you just need a place to stay over one or two nights and if you don't want to pay too much, it is a good choice. The best part is its location! You can simple walk from the main station or take the subway to the Av. Buenos Aires. But if you have problems falling asleep, the noise of the air-conditioner can be a big problem. The breakfast is included however it is very limited. They clearly say what you can eat and drink what I think it's ridiculous! You can choose between one cappuccino, café-latte or espresso… if you want two of these things they will charge you for it!

The hotel is in a area near lots of shops. There is only one resturant across the road and we ate there every lunch and dinner. Unless you want M donalds or burger king. Unfortunatly Milan is a bad place for tourists. The airport is 50km away and involves long expensive travel to get to town. The metro is simple but very efficiant. No decent restraunts and the small bar resturant (with photos of food) are all a rip off. Check the prices before you order. The people of Milan are not friendly or helpfull. Actually mant were rude and ill tempered and have no pacience with a tourist.

The hotel has a pretty good location, Corso Buenos Aires is a good shopping area, there are many restaurants around and the Linate metro station is on one of the main metro lines. My (single) room was clean and it was average sized for Italian hotels (which means small for most other countries). I couldn't hear anything from the street but when there was plenty of noise from the elevator. Standard Italian breakfast (which means poor by most standards).

The place was in a perfect location.. Right on main street where I could do a lot of shopping. I walked to Duomo and it took me 30 minutes one way. The negatives are: really can hear the neighbours when they speak and a very tiny shower. Airconditioning is central and it works depending on when they want to put it, sometimes it was not working in hot hours, however usually ok in hte night. Otherwise all was great. The Reception girl was very helpful and pleasant. All amenities were in place and I felt comfortable. The place is easily reachable with metro Lima. I had a room with a lovely view of neighbouring houses, it was quiet. I may stay there again if I need a central location at a decent price.

Price worthy choice. We had stsyed in a 3 star in Florence The night before and can honestly say The standard of The Serena hotel surpassed it. The room was very clean and spacious - however on The negative side - there was a lot of noisy banging from downstairs early on The morning, which Made it difficult to sleep in! furthermore someone had smoked close to The air conditioning vents - which meant a horrid smell seeped in The room.... But i am certain this had more to do With inconsiderate fellow guests, rather than The Hotel itself. Overall i give The Hotel 8/10

This hotel is centrally located between two metro stops with easy access to the historical centre of Milan. My room was clean and fairly quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. The foyer area is a bit disappointing but for the price of the hotel it was fine. Generally the staff were friendly except for the man on the morning of my check-out who was very rude when I queried why my credit card had been used. Be aware that this hotel "tests" your credit card!

Ive stayed at this hotel several times & always find the staff welcoming & helpful. My only real issue is with the size of the double rooms which arent the biggest but for a short break isnt so much of a problem. The breakfast buffet is always plentiful & well stocked.Above all this hotel is in a great location 100 metres from Lima metro (Red line)& 15 minutes walk to the central station. All in all a great place to stay for a weekend break.

I have stayed several times at this hotel - it is unbeatable for value for money and location - not too far from the main station, near great shopping and only a couple of stops from Duomo. The only slight complaint I have is the very meagre breakfast - a little ham and cheese would be very welcome. However, I do realise that one can't expect too much for the price.

The photos on the site don't do this hotel justice. The rooms are quite basic but very clean comfortable and excellent for the price. The public areas are modern and clean. The staff are charming and frindly most of the time (sometimes at breakfast and elderly woman is serving and she can be grumpy)!! The breakfast itself is basic croissants/yougharts/tea/coffee etc. But great to have it included in the price. The building work described in other reviews is STILL ongoing and was very annoying one morning but we complained and the drilling didn't start 'til 10am the next day! The doors are quite thin so I would advise ear plugs for light sleepers. Though the hotel will be superb when it is finished. The hotel is located just off Corso Buenes Ares which has great shopping and is much better value than in the center of Milan!! The general area is reputed to be a bit dangerous but we didn't encounter anything remotely threatening. We found it perfectly safe even getting off the metro at night. You should take the usual precautions you would take traveling in any city at night. You can get to the Golden Quarter of Milan on foot in less that 20mins -> come out of the hotel go left for Corso Buenes Ares, then take a right onto Corso Buenes Ares, walk down to the major junction at the end of the road and cross over to the other side of it there is a beautiful park on the right that you can walk through. When you come out the other end of it you are right at the arches of the Golden Quarter and the city center. All metros, trams and buses use the same tickets and all are just 1euro regardless of distance (you can buy then in newsagents or at news stands). The "Lima" stop on the red metro line is just a couple of minutes from the hotel and takes about 10mins to get to the Duomo (4 stops). Centrale (the central bus and train station) is about 10minutes walk from the hotel as well, which is handy for the Orio airport bus (8.90euro) coming from Bergamo (i.e. Ryanair!

Good hotel in general though it can get quite noisy if you open the windows. Room is tight but all the necessities are there. Close enough (about 800 m) from Milano Centrale to walk (we took a taxi instead.) Very convenient to Lima Metro station. Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't working when we were there and had to lug our luggage up to 2nd floor.

The location is good. The elevator was broken and we had to bring up and down our own luggages to 3rd floor without any help. It is very noicy from the early morning as there was some construction at the back of the hotel and right in front of my window and also the thin wall could not block the voices from next doors, although my room was in the corner. Check it first before you book. Breakfast was not generous.

I appreciated the journey i spent in this hotel Good Things : 1// quality-price quota : end of august, I had a “twin+bb” room for 55euros 2// room looks exactly as on pics (see also www.hotelserenamilan.com) 3// rooms are very clean, bathroom too. 4// as indicated in the reservation : breakfast is really and totally included in the price, no further charges are taken there for the breakfast. 5// breakfast : simple and charming (especially hot bread made in the hotel, smells very good …) 6// staff of the hotel, are very sympathic, especially the guy at night, who gives best advices 7// this Hotel i sugest, for those who get in Milano for Shopping (near good commercial area) and for Football (the hotel, is close to the Lima Metro Station, which is served by Metro N°1, the same one who gets you until San Siro Stadium, which avoids you loosing time in transport for going to the stadium) Bad Things : 1// something quite common in both hotels in Italy in low season, always call the hotel before you go there, to check if there is maintenance works there … I did so, and the guy in the reception, confirmed me that it was the case !!! However, It wasn’t very disturbing at the End … 2// the rooms aren’t protected from noise, who cames from the corridor. When there’s someone who is moving in the corridor, you heart it as it was in your room !!! A bit uncomfortable when you want to sleep late …

The rooms size could be bigger, or the rate could be lower. However I think Milan is not exactly a cheap city anyway. The Serena is a basic hotel, but met my expectations: ensuite toillete, clean room, breakfast included. The surronding area is not the most beautifull, but is very practical for outlet shopping. The hotel y close to the Metro, the tram and 10 mins. walk from the main Train station.

Qood choice for Milan as it is close to the station, the shopping areas and the old parts of the city - hotel is clean and comfty without special services that we didn't need as we were on short visit - breakfast was ok even though it was no big thing - price is acceptable as Milan is an expansive city - right now they do some renovation and therefore it is a bit noisy during the day (starting at about 9am)

The hotel is located in the northern center of the city and reachable in in only three subway stations. The hotel is located in a quite side street. Rooms have are very plain and spartan set. It remembers more of a hostel than a hotel. You should keep an eye on prices when booking via Venere since complains do not get along which an appropriate claims discounts / price reduction. In our case whe had to deal with a construction site in the yard. The hotel staff did not see any need informing us before checking in that it could be noisy in the morning. Even as we complained about the construction noises in the morning starting at 8:00 am we were called liars, since the hotel manager realised some noices only starting 10:00 am. The only surprise was that staff have closed the windows already at 9:00 am due to construction noises which has been unbearable in the attic. Even after a long and unpleasent discussion with the management neigher an apology nor a discound claim has been givern. We would not book this hotel again and only can advise on it.

This was my first time to Milan, and the hotel was not too far from the Central Train Station. Good location for local shopping and right near a Metro station. The rooms are quite spacious by Italian standards and were kept very clean. The people at the hotel were very helpful. Would recommend the restaurant across the street from the hotel, good food at decent prices.

We have stayed at the hotel for the second time. They are reshaping the building and facilities so at 8 o'clock in the morning workers began to work. For that reason during the day was quite nosy! I think the employees should be more professional. The price/quality is somehow high but Milan is an expensive city. It is very well situated not very far from the old city and what is more important with a Metro round the corner and a good and not very expensive restaurant in front of the hotel

Very good location, close to the shops of Buenos Aires street, metrostation, supermarkets, restaurants. For those who don't like Italian food there is a good Indian restaurant close to Venezia metrostation. We were there in June 2009. Next to the hotel there was a renovation going on. After 8am we heard lots of noises. In general a good hotel for a good price.

For the price, this was an excellent hotel. The people at the front desk were very helpful, even made a reservation for us at a restaurant. Also made suggestions for places to eat. It was convenient to the train station and to the city center.

The Hotel é clean, but we didn't like when the employees turn off the air conditioner, without ask us, after midnight. We call to keep the air conditioner on...but they told us that "temperature outside was cold and that was not necessary"...not kind.

Stayed for a 2 night short break, hotel was just what we wanted, great value, clean, good location, nothing special but everything we needed, and breakfast included in good value price, would happily stay there again, looks like they are expanding the place too. got train to lake como for the day, just 8 euros each for first class ticket, and walked 10 mins into town, a definite recomendation to do

Very confortable, clean and silent hotel. Friendly staff. Centrally located; you can walk to the major city attractions and points of interest (Duomo, Galleria Victorio Emanuelle, Via Monte Napoleone and luxury shopping areas, train station). Bookshops, supermarket and pharmacies also very close. I would surely recommend the property to friends, and would definitely stay there again if I ever go back to Milan.

È da diversi anni che frequento il Hotel Serena di Milano. È situato centralmente, vicino a stazione MM. Silenzioso e pulito.

The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and comfortable and would be a great value for the price if it weren't for the construction happening on the building, which we were unaware of at booking. The problem with this is the workers could (and would) look in our room window! and the banging started at 7am and lasted 'til 6pm, which is a problem if you have jet lag!!

Hotel was being renovated from the outside. But no working noise. Single room was very small and the TV didn't work properly. Service was friendly. Can't argue much about the price: 45 euro p. night.

Hotel Serena was the best hotel we stayed during our 11 day holiday in Italy. Although it has two stars the service provided was above my expectations. The staff can speak English very well. They welcomed us friendly. The room and its private bathroom were very clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is very near to Lima subway station and you can reach both Duomo and the railway station in 5-10 minutes. The neighbourhood is busy and safe but not disturbing. Breakfast was also very good. The only problem may be the fact that the hotel is being renovated and the sounds can be a problem for those who prefer to wake up late. The quality-price relationship must be one of the bests in Italy so I highly recommend this hotel.

Good value...Great location! Easy Metro transportation to central Milan attractions. Close to shopping strip...great restaurant right across the street. We're mid-sixties seniors that enjoy walking, so we walked to and from central Milan. Always felt safe, even at night. For us it was an easy 10 minute walk from the train station (Stazione Centrale) to the hotel.

Front desk was very nice and welcoming. A lot to be said especially for my first visit in Italy. However, the direction to this hotel is a bit off and in result, hard to find at night. Room was relatively clean and looked like quiet at first until more guests coming in, then it was hard to get back to sleep. Bathroom was okay. A nice update can definitely be used with the room. Bed wasn't comfortable to sleep in. Breakfast was good for selection and location as it was on a roof-top. Staffs working during breakfast can use a few more smiles, especially with non-native Italian speaker (like me).

Serena is a nice place with a friendly reception. The showers were kind of small, I'm 5'8" - 170lbs and whenever I moved in the shower, there would be a chance that I would knock the handle of the shower, either shutting off the shower, or hitting it and changing the temperature of the water. the rooms looked clean but I had an early flight and when I woke up, there were also some bug on the floor of the room, roach or something. However, the price was really cheap, and otherwise clean.

Very friendly, helpful, good breakfasts. We had to check out early to catch our plane so they had croissants and juices down in the lobby so we could have at least a small breakfast. I would stay here again (we had a group of 17, they handled it very well).

Hotel rooms were very clean but basic. Breakfast was excellent and overall service good. The restaurant recommended to us had good food but was the most disorganised I have ever been in and relatively expensive. Better rely on your guidebook for restaurants (we went to the 'Chandelier' nearby and had an excellent meal in stylish and unusual surroundings. The distance from Central Station is quite walkable unless you have very heavy luggage. Overall happy with the hotel and staff.
