Fine for a night. Aircon Unit is directly in front of the first floor rooms, so an enormous noise when opening the windows, inside the room constant low level noise. The rooms are nicely designed and extremly clean. But they are also very small, so only recomendable for a short stay. The location is ideal!

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the main central attractions, but the surrounding area is nice enough - some great restaurants and bars close by and also next to a couple of indoor garages. The daytime receptionist was a little surly but the nightime staff were great. Breakfast was excellent - especially the fresh coffee. The room and bathroom was on the small side but clean with all amenities.

Breakfast is ultra simple do not expect much from this. Nice size room can stand to add in better decor. Do not open the balcony door during the (spring to fall)evening mosquitos! Evening front desk person reviews are true. Daytime front desk person (Angelo) nice guy. Nice location, Close access to metro and 10 minutes to central train station by taxi.

The hotel is close to the Republica underground station, form there it is a short trip to anywhere in town. Living on the third floor we did not experience any noise from outside, and there was little noise from inside the hotel. This is a cheap hotel, so you get small rooms and an adequate breakfast in a small room, but we were not in Milano to enjoy the hotel room, we were in Milano to view all the sights. As such the hotel fitted our needs perfectly. For 3 euros you can get a day pass at the underground and the hotel is just a few stops from all the central stations. So this was a cheaper solution than to live in the city centre. There are also lots of restaurants within a 10 minutes walk of the hotel.

The hotel was close to the railway station (Centrale). It was clean and relatively quiet. The initial welcome at the front desk was quite abrupt and surly. It improved with time. Overall, a good hotel at the price for a night or two.

Sempione is a comfortable hotel in a convenient location. It is close to both a metro station and supermarket which we always useful when travelling. A couple things to mention about our recent stay there. (1) Upon check-in we were advised that a room was not available at the hotel for our first night's stay, but they had booked a room for us at the nearby Hotel Ibis - a little inconvenient, as we had to check in and out twice. (2) On one occasion, our room door was left unlocked after cleaning. Obviously we complained (hopefully enough) to ensure it didn't happen a second time.

First night, our room had been let to someone else(despite we made a booking 2 months in advance!)BUT the reception guy has been very nice and funny and had already been arranging everything for us to stay at the Ibis Hotel across the street for the first night, which represented little hassle to us. The only problem we had is no shower curtain, hence slippery floor and wet shoes :-) On the positive side, the hotel is very well located, close to the Central Station and the area is green and relatively safe. The hotel is clean and the room well equiped with air con, mini bar, flat screen cable TV on the wall, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, in short all mod cons you'd expect in a real *** hotel...with reception 24/7. Generous breakfast (for Italy) with healthy options such as fruits and yoghurts but also fresh croissants on a Sunday morning... The staff was extremely friendly, kind and fun, offered us cappuccinos when we missed breakfast :-P and were always happy to have a chat and help with directions. I think it's been a great experience overall and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Booked twin room back in January for 2 nights in April for my friend and I (both female). When we arrived we were told by an unfriendly receptionist that he did not have a twin room for us but had two singles. These were on different floors (one on the first floor and one on the third) and extremely small and unpleasant. We had no option but to take them. After going out for a meal we complained to a different receptionist and we did get a twin room for our second night which was a much nicer room. Also I would advise anyone staying in this hotel to be careful if they take a drink from mini bar in room. A bottle of beer in one of the single rooms had been tampered with and contained urine not beer! Breakfast was no more than average. Location of the hotel was good though, walking distance to the station and near the metro and stop for sightseeing bus. Would definately not stay here again though.

There was just a small problem in the beginning. For some reason the hotel could not charge my credit card and I had to use another card, but this was not a problem of the hotel... they still kept the room until we came. Otherwise, everything was perfect. The wireless internet cost 5 euro per 24h, and it was fast... very fast. Recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a nice stay in Milan. I will be going to the same place when I am in Milano again.

Quiet and competent, probably typical of big city 3-stars (we don't stay in many). Welcome a little corporate but maybe that's Milan's style. Twin provided instead of the double asked for, but we pushed them together.Coffee a bit old. Considering the rack rate was €150, a bargain for Milan 10 minutes' walk from the station.

3 major complaints: I requested a non-smoking romm, and what I got smelled like there was a lit cigarette in the room. Secondly, the room was incredibly noisy, in part because it was closest to the hall. Third, and worst, was the breakfast. Not only was it minimal at best (bread, some colored water masquerading as juice, hard-boiled eggs) but customers are limited to one tiny cup of espresso. When I asked for a refill I was admonished that it would cost me extra, 2 Euro to be exact. I consider this the ultimate in cheapness. I think the hotel would be advised to simply charge a little more for the room and not try to cut corners on things like breakfast. I found this so insulting that I vowed never to return to this hotel. Too bad, because it's actually in a great location and was overall a nice facility in good condition.

Quite a charming hotel, 20 minutes walk from the center. Staff is welcoming. Being lost in the surrounding on our 1st way to the hotel by car the greeter went out, walked down the street to meet us and to show the way. It was so kind from him! We were really touched by the attitude. Plus we arrived 2 days prior booked days and we were offered rooms at available price.

I booked a room for one night at hotel Sempione for 60€. When we arrived at the hotel the staff told me that there was something wrong with my Visa-card during the reservation and thus we had no room reserved for us. The strange thing is that I reserved a room via Venere the exact same day at another hotel in Milan where we were staying a couple of days earlier and they had no problems with our booking. Also, I had printed out the reservation from Venere and there it said that the hotel Sempione had confirmed my stay there more than one month earlier. The staff didn't speak much english but when I showed them that they had confirmed my stay there they finally told me that they had only one room left which we could have. This was a very small single room (we had booked a double) which we had to accept because it was late and we didn't want to spend the night looking for another hotel. Also, there was a sign on the desk in the reception that they only accepted cash payment. Maybe this was the reason for them not being able to accept my Visa-card for the reservation? I just get the feeling that they gave the room we were supposed to have to some guest who paid their full-prices and gave us their smallest single room because I had managed to book a room for only 60€. I'm really not picky and just wanted a room to sleep in for the night, but the room we got was very small with old-looking furniture and bathroom. There was a space under the door out to the corridor so it was quite noisy. The breakfast wasn't very good either with cold eggs, hard bread and tasteless juice. I'm sure that this hotel has some better rooms but the whole situation just put me off. The location is really good, but in the same price-range I rather recommend the hotel Brianza nearby which was much better in my opinion.

Positioned in Republic Square, the hotel allow even the laziest people to access the main touristic points. And that at a very good price for Milan. :) I spent there a night, but it was enough to realize that the quality of services are very good and the clerks would do everything possible to make you feel comfortable. I recommend this hotel for everybody who wants to visit or just pass by Milan. It's cheap, clean, the customer's needs oriented and strategically positioned. Enjoy your stay!

Easy access from central station (5 min. by taxi). Breakfast has wide variety, but taste is OK. Needed extra bed and extra fee for a child (ours is 3 years old), which was not specified on this site. We stayed in two different rooms and one of them didn't have a bathtub. It was hard to have our child take a shower. Receptionists were helpful but some of them were not very friendly. Very good quality for the price we were quoted in this site. Overall we are satisfied and would return.

We even walked to Meazza stadium for a football game and it was like 80 minutes only. Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Very clean bathroom. People were very nice and always ready to help. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. A perfect place to stay in Milan.

The the hotel was really hot from mid morning and temps reached 30C in Milan during our stay. The airconditioning is adjusted from reception, not your room which is inconvenient. When we rang reception we were informed "we switch off the airconditioning while the rooms are being cleaned". Preparing for an event I was reporting on until 2pm in our room became extremely uncomfortable. (I'd hate to stay there while it's snowing.) Noise from roadworks opposite the hotel didn't help. Breakfast is included, but unless you ask they won't tell you and there's no information in your hotel room reminding you of the times the breakfast room is open. Don't expect a later breakfast on Sundays either - we missed out. IMO these a sly ways of cost cutting. Three pluses-Venere offered 50% off the rack rate; the room was spotless and looked very new; 5 euro for 24 hours of in-room wifi.

There was some confusion about my reservation, as I had changed it a few weeks before my arrival, but the cancellation of the original never went through. The management finally compromised on the fee. I didn't have to pay in full for the extra room, but I did have to pay a 45 Euro penalty for the mix-up. The desk clerks were very friendly and very apologetic about the extra charge. My room was brand new, modern, well lit, and lovely. The handicap accessible shower was difficult as I could not help wetting down the entire bathroom despite a surplus of towels and mats provided for containment. Breakfast was basic but okay. Convenient to the Repubblica Metro stop and only a 7 - 10 minute walk to Stazione Centrale. A very good value for the price.

NOT BOOK IN this hotel. Staff closed not careful to the customer. Approximately 4/5 days before the stay (1 night) I have asked the courtesy, for serious issues of health, to cancel a double one room (I had reserved also 2 triple rooms). Room delate, has not been granted me although Venere.com specified to talk to the hotel after 10 days previewed for the cancellation. CROWDS in low season to Milan, city business, during Italian FESTIVITY of 2 June, to ask 10 days for warning in order to cancel a reservation. Moreover to our arrival, the famous double room for which we had asked the cancellation, NOT READY when we arrived. We have had to attend for having the keys. UNPLEASANT staff. Overall a nice hotel to stay at in Milan. The rooms are rather utilitarian, so this isn't a place to spend all day. However if you want a hotel midway between the main train station and downtown (and Corso Buenos Ares), with a friendly, trendy bar next door, close to some public gardens, a great sushi restaurant (Shun), and within easy walking distance of central Milan (Duomo and castle) for a fair price, this is your place. Make sure you book online, however, as online bookings are typically around 70-80 Euro, while the walk-in off street price is 120! Again though - this isn't a day spa - just a place to leave your luggage, take a shower, and get some shuteye. Then again, if you're traveling to Milan to enjoy the hotel, you should probably ask yourself what you're doing traveling in the first place...

just two blocks from subway (Repubblic) and one stop or short walk to central train station. Few stops to Duomo & La Scala. Very good breakfast at hotel. Watch out for a "service fee" at next door sit-down restaurant because the tables have linens! This includes ordering just a snack rather than full meal!! I refused to pay it.

Great hotel near to the station. Many reviews which have given negative feedback are mostly false. The hotel has a great interior look and feel and the breakfast was simply great according to European standards. Great for short stays with quick access to city center and station

Staff not very interested in pleasing guests. They don't seem to think a guest should feel welcome. The property was being remodelled and HAMMERING started at 8 in the morning - a bit too early for those who are on vacation and can afford sleeping a bit more. This shows how insensitive they are at the Sempione. It has to be said that regardless their announcing that wi-fi internet was free of charge they bill you 5 euros a day for its use. When I complained they claimed it was Venere's mistake.

A hotel located very conveniently between the main railway station and the city centre (15 min walking distance or tram to Duomo). A free WiFi connection was perfect. There were some renovations running on relatively early in the morning, probably performed now due to bassa stagione (low season) and/or beginning of the year.

Except the really few space that the room had (but it was a single room, so I was going to expect it..) the WORST thing I had to bear was the smell of SMOKE coming in from I don't know where!! I think that it was coming from the heating grinds. I told that to the reception and they told me "Maybe someone is still smoking even if it's banned". I guessed they would have made me a discount but it remained a dream. By the way, the hotel is a good solution if you have to stay for just one night and don't want to spend a lot of money staying in the center.

Very pleasant stay. Staff speaking english very well. Excellent breakfast. According to the specification internet was avaliable , but you had to bring your own PC to get access. Apart from that just perfect. First time in Milano . Would certainly use this hotel the next time as well.

whenever I have a chance to go to Milan I check the rates of Hotel Sempione. When is not "Fiera season" they sometimes have special low rates which are excellent for price vs. quality. Check it out!

At least in our room we only could sleep with closed windows because of the air condition turbines in the inner courtyard and they were inconceivable loud! Only between 1:00-6:00 they are off or something like that. In the room there was an air condition which directly blows on the bed und you can't turn it off (at least we couldn't find something). Welcome chill!

When somebody in an neighbouring room do take a bath in the middle of the night, what happened, the tired sleeper has the impression that somebody is taking a shower in your own bathroom. So, noise-insulation is not the quality of the rooms we had the pleasure to pass our Milano-night.

We stayed in Hotel Sempione for three nights this August and everything went well. The room was a little bit small, but clean. It had everything we needed. The breakfast was great, with many options - great cappucino and different fresh made cake each day. The only trouble I had was controlling the warmth of the water during the shower. Besides that there were some noise related to works being done on the hotel. It's really near Stazione Centrale and at arrival we took a taxi because it was late and it was raining. We paid 20 euros for a twelve minutes (top!) walk. We enjoyed our stay in Sempione very much and I guess we'd said there in a next trip to Milano.

We stayed in Milan for one night before leaving home from Italy. The hotel was so much better than we expected. It was in central location and our penthouse room with nice interior and balcony was more than satisfying compared to the price. I really recommend this hotel and will definetly stay there if I return to Milan. Also the personnel was really friendly and made our stay pleasant.

Hotel was clean neat and well looked after. Staff was good and very courteous. Rooms were fairly large compared to several other hotels that I've stayed in Europe for the same price. For some reason the air conditioning in the hotel kept breaking down continuously - even in the middle of the night. I stayed for 10 nights during July when temperatures were hitting 38 degree C. Most of the time the air conditioning was not working. When it was working, it wasn't sufficent to cool the room - just the fans running.

hotel is inflexible in interfacing with Venere. I booked through venere on line for 5 nights. When I wanted to change to 4 nights, neither Venere nor Sempione can 'modify' my booking for me. In the end, I had to cancel and make a new booking. Further, there was a problem with my credit card details, so the hotel did not hold the room for me. neither the hotel or Venere attempted to notify me about the problem. When I arrived, the room was gone, and the hotel could only offer me a more expensive room!
