I was really surprised by how nice the room was. It was a big room for two people, so we had enough space and we were both comfortable. The front desk was helpful, and the breakfast was good, even though it was included. The only thing was that it closed at 10 am, and if you got there after 9 am, they would stop refilling the food. Other than that, the location of the hotel was near by a metro stop and it was easy to walk from there too.

I was lucky and had a very nice and clean bathroom. The room itself was a bit small, but I was there only to sleep and have spent most of the day in the city, so overall I really enjoyed staying in the hotel. It's a good value-for-money hotel.

Hotel Ritter had a beautiful lobby and friendly, helpful staff. Our two rooms were clean and spacious. I loved the location. We were easily able to walk to every site that we wanted to see in town. It was our first time in Milan, but I would stay there again if we were ever in Milan again.

I think that the hotel was well worth the money. There were two things that I did not like and that was the unstable temperature on the water in the shower and the other were the thin walls between the rooms. You could hear every word in the conversation next door.

Not a good hotel to stay for pleasure. It's situated over a pub, which makes impossible to rest during the night. The hotel is totally outdated and gives you a poor feeling. The breakfast is basic. The only positive point is the favorable situation: 15 min walking from Duomo and 2 min walking to the nearest metro. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.

We found the Hotel Ritter to be quite presentable, with clean rooms, attention to clean linens daily, a very nice night clerk, and helpful day clerks and the breakfast was very well done. We especially liked the fact the hotel is very close to the Metro, which we used often. I would recommend others to consider going to Hotel Ritter.

Hotel is very central and 1 mile from Duomo. The rooms are tidy and clean but old. we had a dripping tap and loose electrics in the bathroom which was reported twice but ignored. Price is very competetive, breakfast ok and easy reach of linate airport for 20 euros in a taxi 10k away

I stayed four nights. The hotel is well placed in central Milan (M Moscova) and by metro you can reach all interesting parts of the town ànd the central station. there was traffic, but not really noisy. Only noise in the night were people hanging around in the bars. But well, that is night life in Milan. Service and facilities were great. Bath rooms (mine an dmy friend's) need repair, though, but no real problem. Services were swift and very friendly, both by reception and other personnel. General experience: excellent - good quality for good price.

After reading some negative reviews, I was totally prepared to dislike this place. However, my room was nice and spacious though the shower was a bit funky. With that being said, we were given the WORST location in the hotel, directly underneath the construction upstairs with drills, lots of hammering and noise between 10 and 4. Make sure that you are not on the 4th floor, or ask about the ongoing construction and where it is. The hotel area is very nice, with lots of good restaurants. The hotel did have laundry service, which was nice. Once construction is finished this hotel will be much better as the changes are a real improvement.

When we checked in, the man at the reception was helping someone and seemed to be stressed. We checked in and he was quick to get us processed so he could have a somke. The room smelled of smoke, but an acceptable size. The window was at and looked over a roof access. We were not sure to leave the window open as someone could just step in. The boy(a VERY young looking person) at the reception in the morning seemed to not have much information as to what was around and did not have much information on tourist attractions. The area was a night spot for the younger crowd (good and not so good).

Location and price would be the main reason to stay here. Walking distance to the Duomo and major sites in the area (20 minute walk) and close to the metro. Breakfast was OK but the espresso machine broke down. Stayed for one night before leaving Milan and it was OK for one night.

This was a great deal for the price. The rooms were spacious, clean, quiet etc. The breakfast was good; the expresso/coffee was also very good, upon request from the bar. Free internet was available BUT only from the public lounge (next to the reception area). Walking distance from the Milan Cathedral (15min). There is no hotel parking so we parked the car on the nearby street, find a blue line (yellow is for residents only) about 300 m away from the hotel. Approx. 1.2 Euro/h (free at night). The area looked safe to leave the car. Great hotel for the price, we would stay here again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for its LOCATION (right next to Moscova metro station). Reasonable price/quality ratio, premises are not necessarily "modern" but for a short stay they are just fine. Front desk staff is very friendly and willing to help, speak good English. When booking, try asking for apartments facing the street (ending in 12, for example) - they have nice balconies which are nice in sunny days or warm nights. Apartments are sufficiently furnished; however, the one I stayed had two single beds put next to each other instead of an actual queen size bed. Bathroom may look quite old (again, this building is not one of the most recently built in the city).

I have stayed at the Ritter many times before and this last time I was very disappointed with the room that I was given. The water in the shower was hot and then cold and then hot again as well as the shower would not stay on the wall and was leaking all over the floor. The room was noisy due to the maids above moving furniture across the marble floor. The lights in the hall and bedroom were not working and reception promised to have them seen to but never did. No courtesy from manager for a long term guest.

If you need a hotel for one night in Milan, and don't look for anything special, then Ritter is quite good. Without individual stile and little bit shabby, but my room was large and warm (it is important in winter), breakfast was acceptable, and personal spoke English. The hotel is located near an underground station, what is convenient as well.

Beacause of a fair the prices of hotel in Milan were quite high, so we've chosen for Ritter hotel which was less expensive. The location is excellent (Corso Garibaldi, full of bars and restaurant) for people loking for night live, restaurant, bars. This part of the Brera area really "lives". But the hotel in itself is not so nice. Rooms are quite old, breakfast is very bad (especially the orange juice, disgusting) but ok.

The only good thing about this hotel is it's location. Otherwise it is one of the worst Hotels we have ever stayed in. It was badly furnished and antiquated and desperately in need of a major refurbishment. However, this seems to be normal for hotels in Milan when there is a Trade Show. They are massively over priced and very poor value for money. We spent the previous two nights in the Hotel Balmes in Barcelona for one third of the price in a varstly superior hotel. It seem that if you want a reasonable hotel in Milan during a Trade Show you have to pay around €400 a night, so we are seriously considering whether will will ever go to Milan again.

The photo shown on Venere webpage was taken when the room was new. However, it must have been many years (10?) since the photo was taken. The room is old, and the door did not close tightly. You can even see the lights coming out of the rooms from underneath the door. The hotel is at a good location, very close to the subway station, several restaurants nearby, and good neighbourhood. Hotel service at the frontdesk is nice, and very helpful. I would recommand this hotel only to tourists, but not business travellers because there is no internet access at all (free or paid). For tourists, this is a good choice if you don't want to pay a lot to get a good/convinient location near the center of Milan.

Hotel Ritter is conveniently located between Garibaldi and Cardona train stations in a pedestrian friendly area. We found the area clean, the hotel staff friendly. I stayed in hotel Ritter for two days with my wife in the middle of January. The hotel is very well situated, near the city center. The second impression was not so great. It was requested that we pay in advance for our stay, very unusual for 3 stars hotel. So we did. The middle aged guy that was working at the reception desk was... well, each time I asked him something I received no answer and I had to wait at least minute or two for him to react, and again no answer or some friendly face to my please and thank you. Other people were ok, especially kind restaurant stuff (and the breakfast was good too) We got a very spacious room with good bathroom, clean and quiet, and the rest of our short stay was OK.

I came with my daughter (22) for Xmas. The location was as described but the rooms were ugly, poorly lit and depressing. Moreover, the heating system is malfunctioning (we had to change rooms and still it was very cold. The windows and doors do not close properly and make horrible noise on windy nights. I had to stuff tissue paper between the window panes to prevent the loud banging and used a blanket against the door to keep the wind out) Other than that, the breakfast was good, the personnel was almost friendly, and the hotel facilities and the lobby were good. I would definitely stay somewhere else in winter.

Our stay at Ritter was one of the better hotels on our trip - we stayed at 9 different hotels throughout europe. Our room and bathroom was large and spacious and the bonus was it included a pretty great breakfast. Our only complaint was the noise issue from rowdy people outside on the street due to the thin panes on the window. I mention this only because we didnt have this issue anywhere else during our trip. I booked a 2-bedded room. It was quite large and clean. There was noise coming from other rooms tubing. Breakfast was satisfactory and, generally speaking, the employees were very helpful. A big problem was the check-in at 14, which is not that comfortable.

I was suspicious for this hotel at first as it had a couple of questionable reviews, my concerns compounded when I saw all the scaffolding outside the hotel. My worries were ungrounded and the service and inside the hotel were welcoming and homely. I opted for the superior room and wasn't disappointed. It was only a little more expensive than the regular room but well worth it. I even compared rooms as my friend had a regular room... that too was nice but the upgrade was worth it. This was my first real taste of Milan and found things easy to find, it's bvest to use the Metro to get around, it's cheap and much better than the London Underground. I would recommend going to Switzerland for the day by train and get the boat down from Locano.... great fun and great views! I will be sure to return to this hotel and Milan in the near future.

This hotel was fine for the final part of our journey in Italy. It was a good value and was within walking distance to the Doumo and other sights.

We were 2 non-cosecutive nigths. First one we were in the first floor in a new room. It was comfortable, but the bathroom small. The second night we were in 4th floor in an old room. The bathroom looked like 30 years old, and the tiles were falling down. Breakfast poor. The front of the building was covered by scaffoldings.

Hotel wasn´t so close to Dome,as they made it look on their web-site,but we don´t care a little walk,so it was o.k.Everything else was positive, but it was quite a surprize to see, that hotel balconys were under renovation, and our balcony couldn´t be used, and also our windows were covered with white plastic. If we would have stayed longer,it would have troubled us much more, but we stayed only two nights and room was really nice.maybe the room was cheaper because of renovation, but it would have been nice to know before!

i stayed in the smalles room i have ever seen. the bed was specially manufactured to fit in the room...smaller than a normal twin. and it was hot and muggy and there was no a/c, nor were there screens on the window so mosquitoes would come in and bite if you kept them open. i would never stay here again
