Very nice location (close to everything!!) but we got a very old room at 5th floor..need to be renovated, specially the bathroom. In any case, wonderful location and a good place to stay for a few days

Hotel Ritter was a great place to stay. Located on nice avenue in Milan, with lot of nice restaurants around and 1 min. of the subway which takes you anywhere you want. Very quiet and dark room, loved it.

Beacause of a fair the prices of hotel in Milan were quite high, so we've chosen for Ritter hotel which was less expensive. The location is excellent (Corso Garibaldi, full of bars and restaurant) for people loking for night live, restaurant, bars. This part of the Brera area really "lives". But the hotel in itself is not so nice. Rooms are quite old, breakfast is very bad (especially the orange juice, disgusting) but ok.

Excellent choice if you are not looking for a new or luxury hotel. Located in one of most beatiful areas of Milano, Castle and its park just 5 minutes away on foot. Ideal for runners. Excellent buffet-breakfast for this price, which is not always easy to find, even in Italy. Recommended.

The Ritter Hotel is an old hotel in the center of Milano. I was in this hotel a lot of time in the last 18 months because is located in the downtown and the price was very interesting.... But the last time was the last... the leanliness of rooms is each time worse...

The location is perfect. The breakfast was basic, but ok. Very, very much noise in the night, because the walls are so incredible thin. The room was clean, but they must renovate it. They must repair sanitary installation, because the water was driping all the time, in the bathroom. Last evening we ask the employee to give a phone call in the next early morning. They forgot!

I spent only one night at Ritter Hotel and I chose it because of the very good price. I'd return if needed despite the badly room's isolation. I could hear the person of the floor above walking and the neighbours watching tv. As it was Saturday I could hear people in the street taliking loudly as they were coming out of the restaurants. Good choice of restaurants and very next to the tube.In the morning big variety of food for breakfast.

The photo shown on Venere webpage was taken when the room was new. However, it must have been many years (10?) since the photo was taken. The room is old, and the door did not close tightly. You can even see the lights coming out of the rooms from underneath the door. The hotel is at a good location, very close to the subway station, several restaurants nearby, and good neighbourhood. Hotel service at the frontdesk is nice, and very helpful. I would recommand this hotel only to tourists, but not business travellers because there is no internet access at all (free or paid). For tourists, this is a good choice if you don't want to pay a lot to get a good/convinient location near the center of Milan.

The only good thing about this hotel is it's location. Otherwise it is one of the worst Hotels we have ever stayed in. It was badly furnished and antiquated and desperately in need of a major refurbishment. However, this seems to be normal for hotels in Milan when there is a Trade Show. They are massively over priced and very poor value for money. We spent the previous two nights in the Hotel Balmes in Barcelona for one third of the price in a varstly superior hotel. It seem that if you want a reasonable hotel in Milan during a Trade Show you have to pay around €400 a night, so we are seriously considering whether will will ever go to Milan again.

Hotel Ritter is conveniently located between Garibaldi and Cardona train stations in a pedestrian friendly area. We found the area clean, the hotel staff friendly. The breakfast was basic but sufficient. The room was clean, though not exactly as suggested in the property photos. Quite sufficient for an overnight stay while traveling. We would choose this hotel again while en route, but would not choose it for an extended stay.

I stayed in hotel Ritter for two days with my wife in the middle of January. The hotel is very well situated, near the city center. The second impression was not so great. It was requested that we pay in advance for our stay, very unusual for 3 stars hotel. So we did. The middle aged guy that was working at the reception desk was... well, each time I asked him something I received no answer and I had to wait at least minute or two for him to react, and again no answer or some friendly face to my please and thank you. Other people were ok, especially kind restaurant stuff (and the breakfast was good too) We got a very spacious room with good bathroom, clean and quiet, and the rest of our short stay was OK.

I came with my daughter (22) for Xmas. The location was as described but the rooms were ugly, poorly lit and depressing. Moreover, the heating system is malfunctioning (we had to change rooms and still it was very cold. The windows and doors do not close properly and make horrible noise on windy nights. I had to stuff tissue paper between the window panes to prevent the loud banging and used a blanket against the door to keep the wind out) Other than that, the breakfast was good, the personnel was almost friendly, and the hotel facilities and the lobby were good. I would definitely stay somewhere else in winter.

Our stay at Ritter was one of the better hotels on our trip - we stayed at 9 different hotels throughout europe. Our room and bathroom was large and spacious and the bonus was it included a pretty great breakfast. Our only complaint was the noise issue from rowdy people outside on the street due to the thin panes on the window. I mention this only because we didnt have this issue anywhere else during our trip. All in all its a great place stay.

I was suspicious for this hotel at first as it had a couple of questionable reviews, my concerns compounded when I saw all the scaffolding outside the hotel. My worries were ungrounded and the service and inside the hotel were welcoming and homely. I opted for the superior room and wasn't disappointed. It was only a little more expensive than the regular room but well worth it. I even compared rooms as my friend had a regular room... that too was nice but the upgrade was worth it. This was my first real taste of Milan and found things easy to find, it's bvest to use the Metro to get around, it's cheap and much better than the London Underground. I would recommend going to Switzerland for the day by train and get the boat down from Locano.... great fun and great views! I will be sure to return to this hotel and Milan in the near future.

Hotel staff at reception is not very helpful and polite (esp old man). Breakfast is perfect, location as well. When at arrival I spoke an idea to cancel the 4th night of my stay at a hotel(which corresponds to hotel's policy to cancel the reservation not later than 3 days before) I was told that the hotel is already paying a very high comission to Venere and that our price is almost free-of-charge, so we had to pay the 4th night though we left the hotel a day earlier.

The actual property from outside looks better than photo on web. The location is excellent with Moscova metro station so close. Most of the staffs very attentive and professional. The bakery just above the metro station is also a fantastic spot (try pizza or one of small tarts and you'll know what I mean) -walking over there for breakfast seemed better an option than eating at the hotel where the coffee was below average. We did experience a somewhat mysterious treatment at the hotel but I guess that's part of being in Italy and were not that upset. We stayed for two nights but had to book each night separately on Venere because, according to the system, none of the room was available for two consecutive nights. This meant we had to do the check-out and check-in again on the second day. We asked anyway whether the room we stayed for the first night was available but was told it was already booked. Fair enough. However, we found out during our second check-in that the first room was not occupied. Could we not stay, especially with our luggage still left in the room waiting for some staff to move to our new room (hotel offered the service but no one had done it)? But the hotel decided we cannot take the room because 'there is a problem with shower.' As far as we know the shower was working absolutely fine up until the morning. Strange. Anyway, they located us into a triple-bedroom for the second night. It was obviously more spacious than a double room but less clean and tired, made us wish all the more to stay in the same room as the first night.

It's not a fancy hotel but the room was clean and properly serviced. You can tell that it's an old hotel, but for the price (69 Euros), I thought it was a pretty good value. It's also located in a pretty cool area with lots of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was pretty good - cereal, bread, cold cuts, egg, pastries, cookies, yoghurt, etc. We had a room facing the street and on one of the nights it was very noisy with garbage and reclycle trucks. I'd recommend asking for a room in the quiet side. The other nights were OK - not super quiet but not too bad either.

I was quite appalled with this hotel and the grouchy old bastard manning the front desk. The rooms were tidy but not clean, mould throughout the bathroom. Internet cost 1 euro per hour, so you pay 1 euro if you use it for 5 minutes and they do not give you credit, so you keep having to pay each time, that is when the internet worked anyway. I politely told the man at the front at the front desk that the internet was not working and his response was 'yes, I don't know why' and that was it. The vending machine on our floor also did not work. The next day I had to see a doctor as I had contracted an ear infection (probably from the pillows) and I asked the rude man again where a doctor was thinking he would assist me. His reply was a curt 'No doctors here, you have to go to first aid' he then actually turned his back to me and busied himself without offering any further assistance, not even directions to a doctor, hospital or the supposed first aid. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the Duomo which was great but I would not stay at this hotel again if you paid me! Look elsewhere, there are much better hotels available in Milan.

For the rate I got, I was expecting something pretty basic. When we got there I was very pleased. It made a good base for a couple of nights seeing Milan before the rest of our trip. We didn't have many needs to ask them about, but the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very nice with meat and cheese as well as sweets. The immediate location was fine, but not compelling. Very easy walking to the Brera district or to the Duomo. Close to the metro stop on the line between the Cadorna and Central stations, so connections to Malpensa and trains south were both easy.

We were able to find the ritter hotel fairly easily. On arrival the reception staff were friendly and helpful however some of their local knowledge turned out to be poor. We were looking for a bar in the local area showing football. We were sent on a wild goosechase - we eventually found one oursleves which was only about 5 minutes from the hotel. The room was spacious on 4th floor and had a balcony. The bathroom was smaller. The general condition of the room was poor with broken plaster, thick dust in some places a fridge which did not appear to work and the furniture was quite shabby. However the bed was comfortable with clean white sheets so no problems there. Unable to take a bath as no plug. The breakfast at the ritter hotel was good, good choice and plenty to eat, food was fresh and set us up well for the day. We were not sure if we were in a superior or standard room - we had booked and paid for a superior room so maybe we had been down graded for some reason. The hotel's location was generally good though it was quite noisy early in the morning with local traffic.

Great location, about 2 minutes walk to subway. Room was clean, front desk was helpful, bathroom good, breakfast was good. For the price, I don't think you can beat it. There were 2 elevators so you never had to wait. You could buy cold beer/water/sodas on each floor in a vending machine.

There was a certain amount of noise occasionally at night. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay.
