Never been in a hotel where the employees were so indolent. I could have gone without paying if I had felt like it!! The single room was tiny, clean but ugly. I asked for a map and the killing glance of the employee for I had interrupt his news reading was appalling. The only good thing about this hotel is the location; near the Duomo and well comunicated.

I stayed at Pavone in March 2006. I would never have found such a good deal without Venere.com. The hotel was opposite the Palace of Justice just off Corso Porto Vittoria. It was on the bus route No 73 which goes direct from Linate Airport for 1 Euro and takes 15 minutes (I have never got to a city so cheaply before!) The stop is just before the Duomo which is in the very centre of Milan. At the same busstop the No 60 bus goes to the Main Train Station, also 15 minutes. My room was small but very clean and very quiet. The hotel in on a side street where I never saw any traffic and you wouldn't have believed you were in the centre of Milan. It is 8 minutes walk to the Duomo and the historic centre (and shopping) and situated in a smart business area with an excellent gelateria on the main street and very good restaurant next door which serves wonderful food very reasonably priced and they do a discount for hotel residents of 15 percent) The only downside was having to pay extra for breakfast in the hotel which was served in the reception area. It was only a croissant and coffee (4 Euros) The owners were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly go back again.

Quite a good spot in Milan. Watch out I stayed there for 70 euros per night, but that was the WE price. During the week it's much more expensive (140!)

Staying in Pavone was the worst experience I ever had with any hotel. It caught us totally unprepared in many ways: i)we found our room's door was left open once, ii)when we checked out, we were told that the VISA machine was not working and we had to pay cash. It was late night and we were leaving early next morning, we had used up all our Euro and it took us 50 minutes to search around the vicinity for an ABM machine that accept a Canadian Banking card. It was New Year's Eve and was freezingly cold. iii)At first, we were not sure if the rate included breakfast or not, we asked one of the staff and she said it was included, but then when we checked out, the man (I assume is the owner) said it was not, and we were charged 15 Euros for 2 cups of coffee and 2 pre-packed croissants. Given these experiene, I will not recommend my friends to stay in this hotel.

Two observations: Bathroom - Small and would have been OK but for the bidet and tiolet which were situated very close together, but facing eah other from opposite walls. It meant having to step over the bidet to reach the toilet! Payment - although reserved by credit card I was asked to pay in cash on checkout

The room was quite small for triple room but very clean. Smoking in the hallway was kind of bothersome. Overall, the service was good and staff were helpful.
