very nice hotel: the location is great which just 5 minutes walking distance from the central train station. The deco of the room is modern and convenient to use.

I was with my family two uncontinued nights in 2 rooms each night. The remodeled tower room was very nice although quietness is not achieved. The old tower is very poor, quietness is terrible, the shower cabinet was repaired with masking tape, the room was clean but all the bed covers and carpets looked very old, the lift is very narrow. Summarizing two different towers with same price and completely different facilities. Hotel is in a not nice zone very close to the train station.

Hotel staff was excellent. Room appeared very clean but had an odd odor. Mini frige in room. Wireless internet access or they have computers you can use. Bathroom was exceptional (no tub) with rain shower head and lots of very hot water. Location is right behind the trian station and many homeless seem to sleep there. This does make the Metro and public buses/trolleys very accesable. We chose this hotel because it was listed as pet friendly and they were very gracious about our small dog. Parking was listed as an ammenity. When we reached the hotel we learned it was limited and on a first come basis. We did find free parking on the street and there is a parking garage next door for a fee.

Its only drawback is its location. Watch our at night. Otherwise the hotel is real good value for your money. The breakfast is buffet -a little short, though-, the refurbished rooms are really new, clean, A/C, flat TV and pleasant. Treatment is very good, lots of leaflets at the reception, etc. Recommendable.

Great place, right near the station. It was not too hard to find, and pretty close to the subway station as well. The internet is included on a shared computer in a lobby, which was nice. The lobby is very nice and the staff was nice. It actually seemed a little to upper level class for the price, so it was a nice surprise, I recommend this to anyone. Don't believe any of these bad reviews, they are probably rich arrogant jerks.

We were based here for 4 nights on the Grand Prix weekend and this hotel was handy for the trains up to Monza. It's also convenient to the subway which can get you into the city centre in about 5 minutes. The only slight drawback to the hotel is the location. There is a strip club about 4 doors down and a lot of young men standing round drinking from the early evening (feels a bit unsafe). Also, the hotel is undergoing some renovation which kicked off at 8 am every morning. Not what you need when trying to relax on holiday.

Room was small & dirty, the window was partially broken and the noise coming form the road was unbearable. Staff not very polite and requested payment at check in , which I found very rude. Hotel surroundings are awful, true it's close to the station but the area is infested with drunk and drugged illegal immigrants.

Nice Hotel!!! Rooms are pretty small, but very clean. It's only 5 minutes walking from Milan train station. You also have free wireless internet connection and breakfast is included in the price.Price is fine, considering that everything is very expensive in Milan.

Monopole was a fantastic hotel for the price. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean. The room was large enough for two people - three, actually. The TV didn't work very well, but who goes to Milan to watch TV? What impressed me most was the friendly staff. They gave us great advice about where to have dinner and where to go for drinks. They called me a cab to Malpensa at 3:30 in the morning and arranged for me to be able to pay with credit card. They even gave me advice on how to tip the cab driver. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was typical for an Italian hotel - coffee, bread, yogurt, juice, and the breakfast room looks newly remodeled and clean.

I had to stay one night in Milan to take a plane the next day, for this purpuse the hotel is fine. The rooms are very small. The Breakfst was supposed to be served at 7am instead they were not ready 'till quarter pass and I had to go to the airport with an empty stomach. Also, it is located in a dangerous part of the city, for a single lady it is not safe.

The hotel is just behind Milan Central Station, very easy to find. The reception is very kind and show me the map how to get to the Dumo. And the service is good. There is 1 hour free to access to the internet. However, the system is a little different from Windows XP. Overall, it's good for travelers.

Even though I booked a "Double"-room, what I got was a "Twin" at its best. Needless to say, joining two beds was/is not a great idea since that still means about 6 inches gap between the two beds. Couple that with the fact that we had an infant with us, further accentuated our troubles. Besides this, we certainly missed having the kettle along with few tea/coffee sachets for us, which is usually the practice for advertised 3/4 star hotels. Beyond this, I had no grievances and liked the stay. Staffs were nice, though we hardly troubled them :)

The first contact with the hotel was bad, they asked to pay upfront the room, and I know why… they are afraid that your run in the middle of the night, the hotel is awful, noise (6-9 AM banging doors, speaking laud on the hotel corridors, one word a nightmare!!) unclean, very bad breakfast, if you are in Milan keep away from this hotel!!!

I guess the hotel was value-for-money (compared to the rest of Milan), but it still seemed pretty expensive. surprised that my AMX was not accepted (even though it was through Venere), however I was not prepared to make a fuss about it. Liked the idea of free internet. But it was a complicated 'enrollment' process for a system which general was R-S. Unfortunately, not of the hotel staff knew anything about it. Overall, though, the hotel was very enjoyable - close to the railway station and the city centre highlights.

This was an OK place. It's close to the train station, although there isn't much else around. The room was kind of small but was fine, and the shower was surprisingly nice. The breakfast was OK. Near the breakfast area is a little conference room with a PC where you can get free internet access, which was a very nice surprise.

The directions from the railway station weren't very good. The whole area surrounding the station is filled with hotels and to be given directions of 20 metres from the station is too faigue. The breakfast was very good and there was quite a lot of choice. Didn't realise until we arrived how difficult it is to see Da Vinci's Last Supper.

The staff were extremely responsive and helpful and friendly. I informed them of a slow drain in the shower and they fixed it while I was away. On an another occasion, while traveling alone, I was given a room that smelled of smoke. After informing them that I would prefer another room, they gave me a room with a double bed without any qualms. The hotel is very close to the train station which is convenient and saves cab fare. The only problem I had with the hotel was the 130 Euro price I paid. I would not recommend the place for any more than 100 Euro a night.

We only stayed here the one night - 11 March. Found the Hotel well located and easy to find from train station. Booked a triple room for my daughter and friend. The room was very small - possibly was just a small twin room where they added another bed so really no space. The bathroom was modern and clean with plenty of towels, hairdryer and shampoo. I would stay again as found the staff friendly and they provided us with a newpaper with a pull-out map of Milan in the centre. Also looked after our bags the following day.

This hotel was very good. I would definitely stay again. The location was excellent, very close to Milano Centrale train station. The front desk staff spoke english and were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and basic. There are temperature contols in the room, so we were warm in the middle of winter. There is also a safe and refrigerator. There is an internet cafe just a few doors down and a supermarket in the train station. I would definitely recommend this hotel as the value for the price was very good. The only disadvantage was the noise. The walls are very thin. However, the same problem occurs in almost all hotels throughout Europe.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and when we made our check-in they told us to pay all the three nights in advance; I often use venere.com to book hotels and none of the other told me to pay rooms in advance!I think it's just a lack of confidence to the client!

Considering it's in a handy location near the station in Milan I guess the prices are about right, but it seems a little expensive for the standard in comparison with other hotels we stayed in for a similar price. When we arrived very late at night on our first night we were put in a triple room rather than one with a double bed, despite having booked over 2 months in advance. We were told that the hotel is unable to tell whether a double or twin bed is required from the booking details they receive, and tried to make us believe we were getting something extra by being given a triple room! This room was also very noisy, facing onto the street. However the next day they moved us to a much quieter room with a double bed.

I was fairly satisfied except that the noises seem to come from everywhere even very early in the morning. Adjoining rooms have poor sound insulation. At least mine did. Also the setup of the lifts was very strange and akward. I had good breakfasts though and an excellent capuccino.

An extremely clean and functional room close to the Stazzione Centrale and within walking distance of the Duomo. The Hotel is small but inviting although it does appear to be right on the red light district doorstep at night, this didn't prove to be a problem and I was never bothered. The Hotel is excellently priced for what you get. Situated in a good location to begin to explore Milan, the staff were friendly and polite, spoke good english and were helpful. The lift in this Hotel is quite small though, be warned, although the staircase is wide and unobstructed. Overall this was a great choice and i would have no hesitations at all to recommend to anyone. If I return to Milan, I will stay at the Monopole again.

The stay will be the first and last stay in this hotel. We asked for a quiet room and got one next to the breakfast room and carpark. The breakfast room was by far too small for the number of guests, so you had to wait for a table. The breakfast quality was miserable. There is no breakfast-substitute possible if you need to leave before breakfast-time, nevertheless you pay for it. The hotel was indicated on a wrong section of the street, we only found it by the number. I do not have any comparison of prices and service levels in Milan. My opinion is based on comparing it internationally and to other hotels in Italy.
