Well, I needed an unexpensive hotel with free wi-fi and that's the one. The surroundings are not too nice - you wouldn't want to walk the streets alone at midnight... Also all the places where you could buy smth close at 6-7 pm. When arrived to the hotel from Malpensa at 11 pm I couldn't even wash my face as there are no places around where they sell bottled water. Electric kettle in the hotel was broken so once you wanted to have a cup of tea, you would have to go to a cafe nearby. In case you are trying to save some money, you could go to the market and buy lots of fruit there. The only thing, I was working in Milano and I had to leave before it opens (11am) and was coming back after it is closed already. So if you're gonna be busy and you're not a pizza-fan, you'll have to eat somewhere else... The staff is pretty helpful, they speak some English... In case you come to Milano not to practice your English with hotel staff, it's totally ok. Oh, one frustration, they don't have soap... Their English wasn't enough to explain to me why :) Btw, there's a railway nearby so it may bother those sensitive to these sort of things... Anyway, I repeat, I received exactly what I paid for except for inability to have tea in my room and inability to wash my hands with soap :)

How to reach Hotel Mercurio

By car
Once you get off the highway, take the tangenziale ovest road and exit at Viale Liguria. Then go along Viale La Spezia street until you get to Piazza Belfanti square. Turn right in Viale Liguria and then right again in Via Ascanio Sforza.

By train
From the Centrale train station in Milan you can take the Line 2 (Green line) underground, get off at Romolo and walk to the hotel which is about 800 metres/880 yards away. You can otherwise take the Line 3 (Yellow line) underground, get off at Duomo and then take the tram number 15 to Corso San Gottardo avenue.

Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel.
