We stayed at hotel Mentana in February 2009 and we liked the location very much. The price is ok. The room is small but clean and nice decorated. Breakfast is continental. Very easy to reach all the touristic attractions of the city, walking. Receptionists are helpful and speak English, check in is available 24 hours, they have luggage room. We recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Milano! Enjoy! :)

The room and equipment of the room was OK, new carpet. The bathroom is not 4-star at all, it is maximum 3-star: very narrow, showercabin too narrow, equipment old and untidy. Location of hotel very good, close to the Dome.

Highly recommended Hotel for people who want to shop and have a short stay in Milan. Due to the central location it is very easy to reach within minutes the main aereas of the city.

The location is great, very close to the church and shopping area. The hotel itself is a bit out of dated. Breakfast is fine.

Good for one night stay in center of Milan. The size of the room, puslic areas etc. are not for 4star hotel, but fine for 100Eur in center city

E' un Hotel che meriterebbe 3 e non 4 stelle, ma la posizione si presta ad un'ottima fruibilità turistica, è pulito e il personale gentile e disponibile.

good location for seeing the city sights; close to the last supper and duomo; staff a little clueless about finding places to eat (recommended a place -- Trattoria Milanese -- that had clearly been closed for a while)

Small and quiet hotel, close (5 min. walking) to St. Ambrose, in a most central, though relaxing, borough. Noce location, good services, clever staff, good continental breakfast.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. It's small hotel with rather small rooms, but nice and clean. The desk staff were very courteous and extremely helpful to us. The hotel was in a nice neighboorhood, seemed very safe at night. They nice breakfast available as well in the dining area down the stairs from the lobby. It was a short walk to the Duomo and a big shopping area. We highly recommend this place if it is available when you are staying in Milano! WIFI NOTE: This hotel does not offer any WIFI access, but I was able to get on an unsecured network on my laptop in the hotel's lobby. They have comfortable chairs there too. It wasn't the greatest connection, but did work fine for doing my email in the morning before we went out.

Staff was frequently smoking behind the counter at the desk.. always out of sight but smoking just the same. Thus, the reception area smelled of cigarettes all the time and especially in the night. Overall price was also too high for the quality of the hotel. For this town and this location the price should not be more than 80 0r 90 euro per night at this time of year... not 250! I would NOT recommend this property to anyone because of the price and the smell of cigarettes.

The hotel is very close to Duomo. other than that there is not much about this hotel. The room is rather small. Breakfast is so so. Overall it does not feel like a 4 start hotel. But the price is good.

Very nice location; breakfast is plain and I expected something more from a 4 stars hotel, but I enjoyed it nonetheless ^_^. Good choice.

I recommend this small and quiet hotel with very friendly service and pleasant charme in the old centre of Milan, ca. 10 minutes to go to the Dome by feet for tourists on city-tour. Little problems with the electricity due to the oldness of the house were instantly eliminated by the employees. The breakfast-buffet served its purpose: middle-european sweet breakfast. Very good relationship price/quality.

My only complaint was that they do not have double beds; they have comfortable side by side single beds.

This hotel is a hidden gem in Milan. It is conveniently located to the Duomo, the Castle, the Last Supper and the express train to MXP. The best part of this hotel is the hotel staff. Giancarlo who works in Reception is probably the best Concierge you'll encounter. His English language skills and his willingness to help should earn this property a Fith Star for service!

stayed in a single room with horibly stinking bathroom and high noise level at night and early mornings. Location of hotel is convenient - just 10 minutes walking distance to Duomo

We liked the hotel as we found good quality and location for the price. The hotel is close to the main streets of Milan and the quality of services offered were quite reasonable.

My wife accompanied me. The furniture was essential, but practical. The location is very good for both business and tourism. The employes are very kind. The breakfast is nothing special.
Hungary, May 2007
The hotel's buliding stays in the corner of a small and quiet square (named Mentana too), with many trees. We've got very good clean androom, with wiew to the square, the host was polite. The parking was simple, for a reasonable fee (1,5 EUR/hour). Our main aim, the Duomo was about 10 minutes, by slowly walking.

The breakfast was good because the served "rye bread", but we missed cheese-slices. We stayed in Milan three nights. We liked Doumo square and San Siro. A trip with tram 1 was interesting.

A nice hotel with a reasonable price. Good location in a quiet neighbourhood 50 m from one of the main shopping streets Via Torino, and only a 10 min walk from the Duomo. Paperthin walls and a rater annoying shower (changed from boiling hot to ice cold in mather of seconds)are the main drawdowns. But overall a good bargain in this price range.

I thought Hotel Mentana had Internet connectivity. Instead they offered a publically accessible laptop (w/Win98) in the reception area. I had to fix the proxy settings in order to pages like yahoo mail and similar. (impossible to read mail otherwise) The breakfast was sparse (borderline non-existant), but the coffee service was good. The TV was small, and the channel selection limited (unless you speak Italian). The service level was excellent, the room was cleaned every day and all towels (+ bedsheets) were changed daily.

A five minute walk to the Piazza del Duomo is the best compliment for the location, the rate is adequate for the facilitie. Take this hotel, you will never find a hotel in the centre of Milano with a lower rate

A nice hotel in a quiet place very close to S. Ambrogio and close to Piazza Duomo. But do not expect a rich breakfast with "personal" touch! In the underground breakfast room you will find rather packages. Single room with incredibly small bathroom, but no accessoire was missing. Gratis internet connection at the receptiion desk, no WLAN.

The only thing I am complaining of is the wasting in the hotel. It is not necessary to change the linen and especially the soap every day. At least you could let the client decide whether the linen needs to be changed. Otherwise the room, its cleanliness and the breakfast were excellent. As I didn´t pay the "normal" price the relationship between price/quality was ok.

Nice, quite, a bit out of the way. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located a bit away from the main streets, but once you find it is quite nice.

L'Hotel è piccolo ma accogliente, come anche le camere.Un pò rumoroso,ma tuttosommato il mio giudizio è positivo, vista la posizione centrale dell'albergo, ottimo per chi giunge a milano per turismo.

The hotel is in a very central location and the hotel staff are very friendly. To get to the hotel via subway, your best route is to get off at Duomo station and walk about 10 minutes. During our stay, the AC was broken for 2 nights (out of 3) which was torture because Milan was incredibly hot in late August. The hotel was fairly (almost completly?) empty while we were there, so the other guests sounds weren't a problem, however random room noises can be annoying. Our mini-fridge was emitting a great deal of HEAT (both outside and INSIDE) so we pulled the plug on it. The free breakfasts are a good plus! :) The shower in our room was VERY strange, in that the shower head was so low, and the tube was so short, that I (6 feet tall) couldn't wash myself properly... Very bad shower setup. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We had never been to Milan, but in our month-long European travels to Paris, Aix-En-Provence, Nice, Milan, Rome, Italy, Milan was our least favorite city.

Disapointing hotel with respect to quality vs. price. It does not deserves at all its 4 stars! Hotel is old and lacks of charms; noise from other rooms or from water running down pipes or from the streets can be heard very easily. Luckily the hotel was almost empty and traffic was not excessive in this area. Only "plus" was the central location, i.e. only a 5-10 minutes interesting walk to reach the Duomo. Also close to the nice Piazza Vetra, which is good for bars and restaurants, and Via Ticinese. Overall, very expensive...but difficult to find a good hotel deal in Milan!

We had a very enjoyable 2 nights dispite the dreadful wet weather outside!! Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We moved elsewhere for our last 2 nights, but wished we were staying there. It is very hard to choose a hotel when you do not know the country, city or area, but we were pleased with our choice.
