Very really nice hotel! A bit of history. Last year I visited Roma 2 weeks and I had 2 hosts types (B&B & Albergio-vane). With the qualityless of the last, I decided this year to choose a very nice hotel, as priceless as possible). And I found it! This one is really nice and I recommand it! 9 nights for 450 euros, no extra fees. I was visiting Milano alone, so I had a single room. A bit small but finally I didn't need a lot. But don't think small means less! It has a bed, a desk, a TV, a sink with mirror, a shower, a toilet, a footwasher (I don't recall the name), and the room was very nice for me (my little bubble in Milano!!). And if you don't have the converter for your electric device, just ask and you will have it free (so kind!). Easy metro access, 50€/night, clean room each day, all comfort (nice to self-relax after a looooong 12hrs tiring day of visiting, walking, ...), so very nice hotel! Next time I return to Milano, I will come back! Now, the disadvantages of this hotel - No net access : I didn't need it, and there is a public net access for 1€/h around the hotel, but it will put a real extra to be able to access it in the room (= no need to get out) - It's me or the hotel page, but I understood that I could have a breakfast if I pay an extra 2 euros/day. Or, after he says that this breakfast is outside, in a restaurant or else. It could be really nice to have a typical milanese breakfast, and even for 3-5 euros I could accept it if it's typical. This is not important but when you wake up, you need to have the strength for the day. But I just bought some breakfast similar in GS shop so... just a nice suggestion !!! But just remember, they are nothing compared to the price and the advantages! As the nice huge advantages hides massively the disads, I will put a global note of 9,5/10 :)))) Naturally, it could be better, it could be cheaper, but just be realistic: it's nice as it's, and it's the main conclusion! ------ N

Very clean property, good price /quality. Don t be phased by the 1 star rating. Ideal if you are on a budget. (3 nights for 220 euro, pretty good, for the location) Beware, the rooms can be a bit noisy during the day (you can hear the phone ring and the reception person on the phone). At night this is not a problem at all. The decor is a bit dated but still perfectly functional.Lots of wardrobe space, private bathroom ( we didn t get a balcony, but we didn t mind, it was october at the end of the day). carefull with the deep steps as soon as you push the main door in the street (in particular if you arrive after a few drinks of vino..) Overhall a great place to stay as very central to the main city attractions, shopping areas and the train station can be reached on foot from the hotel (good few restaurants close to the property too. I would highly recommend it and would go back again if i get the opportunity to go back to Milan

I had a single room, at 4th floor. No elevator, and no air conditioner nor electric fan. I would not suggest this place in the summer season, as Milan is very hot, humid, and there are a lot of mosquitos welcoming you as soon as you will fall asleep! The person at the reception was very friendly and professional. Overall, I think is a good hotel (thinking of the ration price/quality, and the location).

very friendly staff, unfortunately the bed was really uncomfortable, the spring mattress was very chiseled, if I wasn't really tired, I wouldn't able to asleep, but beside of that, really good location, the room was equipped with a balcony, a bidet and a hairdryer.

An excellent hotel with very friendly staff. Very good value for money and particularly good if you are just looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights. Only problem was that air-conditioning in the room is in the form of a large fan which was quite noisy so couldn't be left on during the night.

As indicated in the ratings I found the staff both friendly and helpful, but this establishment needs a serious overhaul. The plumbing is outdated and noisy, and the sound-proofing is non-existent. And how much does it cost nowadays to provide a decent TV in each room ? The location is uninspiring but close enough to the metro. OK for budget travel, I suppose, but I will give it a miss in future.

We were a couple or friends that stayed for two nights. The hotel is very, very clean, the staff is very nice and friendly. The room was not very big but enough for a couple of days. I strongly recomend it since it's a nice place and quite cheap. The are is ok, central and not dangerouse.

It was only 40 Euros a night for my single room, which was a lot like a single college dorm room. I was only there to sleep so for me it was perfect. I must say that it was spotlessly clean, and very well-maintained. Perhaps a little noise from the street, but nothing that troubled me very much. I would definitely stay there again!

Completely incompetent staff, without any knowledge of english except 1 out of 4 staff we met. They tried to kick us out on the first night because my girlfriend did not have her passport with her even though we said we will bring it the next day. We have been reminded by three different people on the next day. We got the last reminder on the way to our room to leave our bags and informed them that we will now go and pick it up. Only after 2 minutes, they called the room and asked for the documents again... Location is great but if you want to get a proper treatment and feel like a guest, I would stay away.

a very well run hotel, very nice design, scrupulously clean. beware the entrance to the hotel is immediately at the top of a staircase of approx 12 steps leading down - those with heavy luggage beware as there are polished marble steps here and throughout the hotel - the hotel prefers you not to bump your suitcase on any of the steps even if you are OK to do it - so if you have heavy luggage that you are not able to manage very easily, caution is advised. I would describe the area where the hotel is found as 'Aspromonte' as in fact, it is just of the Piazza Aspromonte where a lot of other hotels (less good value for money but still nice) are found. It is also very close indeed, to the tram.

I would have rated this hotel much higher if they had proper heating! Getting into the room was like stepping out into the cold each time.. The radiator heaters would only heat the immediate area around it and would not reach the bed. And the floor heating was only in front of the sink, so everywhere else was like stepping on ice.. :p Location wise, it's pretty well placed right at the start of Via Bueno Aires which is one of the main shopping stretches in Milan. If Hotel Malta had better heating, it would be a pretty good choice, but i can't recommend this for anyone visiting Milan in the winter.. unless they're prepared to brave the cold outside and in the rooms

We stayed there only for two nights but it was very comfortable and practic. I wouldn't doubt to go there again. It is not possible to eat the breakfast in the hotel. We didn't find that there where a lot of options in the surroundings to drink a coffee in a non-stressed atmosphere. However the location is pretty good. To walk to the center is possible (about 20 min), but after Corso Buenos Aires there is not much more to see until the center. Easy to reach by Underground.

we were passing through Milano to catch a flight and needed a convenient place to stay that was close to available transportation and the Malta met our needs perfectly. It is only a few steps from the Loreto metro stop which makes it easy to reach the central train station and buses to both airports. It is down a quiet side street and was a very pleasant little place. I would recommend it and will stay there again my next time in Milano

This hotel met our expectations for the price. It is conviently located to public transportation and the staff can help you find your way in using the system. The only crucial issue is parking, you will likely have to find parking on the street if you arive by car. It is also conviently located to the interstate system for arrival and departure to the area airports.

You don't have to expect too much from a 1 star hotel. If you need only a room where to sleep and have a shower this accomodation is enough. The cleanliness of the room was quite ok, except for some hair I found in the bed...It wasn't so pleasant! This is why I gave a low ranking to the clenliness of the room. There's no bar related to this hotel where you can have breakfast as described on the web.

Short flight of stairs to get to my 2nd floor room - so no problem with our heavy luggage. Clean and very basic room. Some holes in sheets, but no problem really. Hotel is on difficult to find street. Instructions on venere to get to hotel should be more clear. Hotel on small offstreet, and so not very noisy. I'd notified of my late arrival, and it was fine. I'd stay here again.

We found the hotel slightly expensive when compared to other destinations we have been to recently but i would recommend it. We had trouble finding it from the main train station and had to get a taxi - which was chea enough. Overall, it exceeded our expectations for a one star hotel, the location is right near metro stations and subway, there was grafitti on the wall of the hotel (didnt bother us - it is everywhere in milan) and the staff were friendly (either spoke good english or enough to communicate) and helpful. For exploring Milan on a budget it gets the thumbs up.

Very good location, only a few minutes walking to metro and to Central Railway Station yet on a quitet small street; nice cafés and restauranst in the surroundings; the room and the bathroom was tiny but we had a nice large balcony overlooking a wonderful garden; apart from the embarrassing noise of the waterpipes it was quiet. Wouldn't say staff was fluent english but they were all very kind and helpful. All in all, it was a good choice, worth of price, I would recommend it to friends

The best thing about this hotel has to be the couple running it, especially Anna. She is welcoming, kind, informative and makes you want to spend your money with her the next time you stay. The comments about the stairs and carrying luggage are valid, it is a bit of a killer(!), so please consider this if you don't feel fit enough for it. The hotel is located quite close to the Loreto metro stop and close to the Corso Buenos Aires. Its also reasonably priced, although they do ask that you pay cash if staying, for example, just for a single night.

So much more than a 1 star accomodation can usually provide. Anna and her husband run this hotel with passion and they are extremely nice. The hotel is very clean and with all comforts. Too bad they cannot offer breakfast and there is no elevator, or this would be a 3 stars accomodation. Just around the corner from Loreto metro stop, and one metro stop away from Milan Central station. They also have a beautiful garden where you can relax in the heart of Milan. Too bad that there is no possibility to enjoy breakfast in the hotel, or at least a cup of thea.

Actually this is a nice hotel because although it is in the centre of Milan it is in a quiet little street right, so you don´t´get involved in the city´s traffic-noise. We´ve had a nice room in the 2nd story with a nice little balcony with a table and two chairs and so we had a nice view over some little private gardens. very pretty! still there are some things which sould have been better in Hotel Malta: there is no elevator (and no-one who helped us carry our heavy luggage 2 1/2 stories), no breakfast and to be honest the rooms & bathrooms are kind of old. still it is a nice hotel with nice people working there and since it´s price-quality-realtionship is alright one cannot expect everything from a one-*-Hotel! Just to sum up I can recommend staying here! Have fun in Milan!

We had a nice 2 days stay in a centrally located but very quite hotel in Milan. The price is very reasonable. The good impression was due to the fact that we lived in probably the best room on a 2nd floor with a terrace (we did not see other rooms). The hotel is rated as 1* star. To our mind it deserves to to be rated as 2** star if not to say as 3*** star one. Unfortunately they have neither possibility to serve breakfast as in most 2** star hotels nor to offer water pool facility as in most 3*** star hotels. Anyway we our going to advertise the Malta hotel to our friends and colleagues looking for a cosy and inexpensive stay in Milan.

a good hotel for travellers such as myself - ie not too many frills, and pretty cheap, given prices for the rest of milan (we didn't use any of the services though eg breakfast, so cannot comment on that). the room we got was lovely actually, we even had a balcony for our 55 euros. its not glamourous, but nice and simple. The people were friendly, didn't speak much english (i'm sure they had a good laugh at my italian).
