i was in milan on business for four days. while the hotel is ok to put your head down for a few hours, their is little else to do in the hotel with just a little more in the near vicinity. with the tram just outside, you are best to head into the city for any of the usual activities in your spare time or if you are in milan for a break

Front desk staff was very helpful and informative..spoke great English. Breakfast buffet included in the room price was delicious. Hotel environment was very clean and inviting. Mr.Marcello was extremely helpful in talking with me on the phone prior to our arrival and in making arrangements to get from the airport to the hotel!

the hotel needs to be furbished seriously. The room I stay has an unpleasant smell as well as the toilet and shower facility that all need to be renovated. Employees are fine, they provide best service to the guests.I stay there for 2 nights and that was very noisy with the people talking `walking downstairs and buzzing sound of the mosquitos.

Our stay was not satisfactory, because the atention from the personal, was horrible. Only one gay, the firts one that attended to us, when we arrived, was better with us, he respected us as clients, not like the others. The breakfast was poor, and artificial. In the others hotels, they allways get naturals things to eat. And finaly, when we was leaving, at the moment to pay, they was charging more money that the original price. We had to protest our money and finaly he gived to us in a wrong way, he gived to us a lot of coins of low price. And we saw that he get brills, and i said to him, "can you give me brills please" he sais not. That act was seriously incredible.

Nice place.Easey to get in the town with the tram, in about 15 min. Not to many restaurants and shops arrownd.Bed sleep because of trafic and voices in the night. Small problems with employ, but in the end everything was ok.I recomand this hotel for young couples, students and young turists.

The staff was friendly, but room and corridors were old and smoke stinked up. Could'n get more then 2 hours of sleep cause the noise from the street - a tram line from 5 am and cars all night long. Breakfast was acceptable but BF's room is too small.

Nobody spoke English in the hotel. The rooms were freezing cold and dusty. The bathrooms are a disgrace and there are no amenities surrounding the hotel only the tram that stops outside it.There are no tea making facillaties, no where to get bottled water within the hotel.very poor impression.did not enjoy our aty.

The room was furnished with 4 single beds so there was not enough space for us. The room did not have a balcon even though it was written in the room description. The servive was polite and it was also possible to have real coffee from personnel.

Misrepresentation: They say 'The structure is completely renovated'. Not recently. Misrepresentation: They say 'All rooms are elegantly furnished ....' The first room was dirty - I had to insist on being moved - they could not do so until day 2 of my stay. After a days work I arrived back at the hotel to find they had not moved my case to the new room but left that for me to do. The new room was a small improvement. The wardrobe was a frame with a curtain. Misrepresentation: They say 'close to the Milan Trade Fair'. It is close to the OLD TRADE FAIR NOT THE NEW ONE. Misrepresentation: They say - 'a staff, which is available around the clock to help guests organize their stay in Milan'. Alarm Calls were requested for 07:00hrs: Day 1 - I was woken at 06:00 Day 2 - I woke at 07:15 - no call was received. Misrepresentation: They say - 'Multilingual staff'. Only one admitted to speaking English. Misrepresentation: They say - 'Hairdryer available on request' They provided a hair dryer fitted with a plug which did not fit into their electrical sockets!!!!. (Left behind by a foreign guest?) No alternative was offered. Misrepresentation: They say - 'The rich buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room .....'. They say - 'Breakfast includes fresh brioches, fresh fruit, cheese, coffee, ham, yoghurt, orange juice, grapefruit juice, fresh bread, croissant and cappucino'. Nonsense - The breakfast was poor, most of the items listed were notable by their absence or age. This is a sad apology for a hotel which does not deserve to prosper.

I'm rather glad I've chosen Hotel MacMahon: the staff was very nice and helpful, and the room was clean. The bad side is I couldn't get more then two hours of sleep because of the noise from the street and the courtyard. The bathroom was tiny, and you can't put the shower curtin in the basin so the floor is flooded after each shower. But, all in all, I can recommed the place for a short stay in Milan.

We stayed at the hotel three days. We were met by a nice English speaking guy in the reception. The rooms were clean, the beds nice, but of course it was a bit noise from the streets outside (earplugs!) The breakfast was however not as described and the guy working there was not acceptable. He claimed extra money when we asked for coffee cup no. two, he followed one of us into the room one late evening and telephoned her in the night. He became “mad” when we were leaving the hotel and denied to give him € 20 he asked for to cover his “service”. If you are a single lady: Be aware!

This hotel treated us disgracefully - our booking was a family booking which we made in December last year. The hotel sent me an email 3 days before we arrived to say they had cancelled our booking because my credit card was not valid. We had to book into a new hotel and I met a man in there who had the same trick done to him by the Hotel MacMahon. He also told me he met other people at the Hotel MacMahon who had their reservations cancelled at the last minute. I am convinced that the hotel exploited a clause in the booking conditions to cancel our reservation. Why would they do this - because we booked in advance at good rates and when the owner realised there were 2 fairs on and a big football match...........and he could get much higher rates than ours he cancelled our bookings. With regard to the credit card which the Hotel Mac Mahon said was not valid,I used it to pay for 2 new hotels and several resteraunts in Milan. AVOID THIS HOTEL !!!

My stay in the said hotel was a great pleasure to me, an excellent relationship between price and quality. 10 minutes by bus from the Central railway station, 10 minutes by tram from the center. no problems with the transport. The prices indicated on this site do not correspond with the way they calculate it in the hotel, although in my case, especially, there was a surprising coincidence. They calculate 60 Euro for the first 3 days of your stay in the hotel, and 80 Euro per day thereafter. I will choose this place if I return to Milan again.

I stayed at the hotel for one night. The walls with adjacent rooms are paper thin. You can hear everything. The bathroom tubes of the adjacent room run down inside the wall close to your bed . At night and early mornings you can hear the loud rush of water. I had to change my room which had same properties. I moved my bed to the opposite wall. The single rooms are very small (3m x 2m) but clean. Towels and bedsheets are clean. This is a 2 star rated hotel. In all I didn't sleep well.

Staff needs to be able to handle at least basic low level communication in english. Iron and ironing board in the hotel for guests to use would not be setting the expectations too high.

The rooms were cute and clean but small (we had quads). It was pretty quiet. The location was rather far from bus/metro lines for tourists, not many restaurants and no places to exchange money. The woman owner was horrible. We understood breakfast was included, she refused to allow us breakfast since there were 8 of us. We only asked for one of our two allotted breakfasts - she left a very bad impression, rude beyond Italian standards. No public areas, entry is small, breakfast area (of which we only had a glimpse) was very small. Too far from tourist sites to be recommended especially for the price.

The hotel has only one employee who speaks English, moreover he isn't in the hotel at night. So it is difficult for foreigners to communicate with employees. It is'nt quit area. Because a neighborhood child practice the piano, trams run in front of the hotel street and the traffic is heavy near the hotel. Many kind of bread, tarts and jams are prepared, I'm satisfied with breakfast.

The main attributes of this place are the price and the breakfast. The drwbacks are the quality of the rooms, lack of air conditioning and possible street noise. The front desk people were pleasent and helpful and the Breakfast buffet was large and much better quality than any of the other 4 places we stayed in Italy. If price is important and you don't plan to spend much time in the hotel then this is probably one of the better deals in the city. We had 4 people and the price was at least 30-40 euros to any other below any other 2 star option and 100 euros below any of the 3 and 4 star places. However, the pictures are misleading. The rooms are fairly clean but the carpet was stained. Also there was no air conditioning so you have to keep the windows open and there was a lot of street noise the night we stayed. But, we were told the noise was due to an annual party night in Milan the Saturday evening we were there. The area is a little low end, but the location is OK and the trolly stops right in front of the hotel and will get you to and from the Duommo in about 5-10 min. The private garage they have a deal with charged 22 e/day.

The room was ok but there was no door to the bathroom. The breakfast room had only about 5 or 6 tables which was far too little considering that the hotel has 60 beds. I would probably not stay there again.
