About Hotel La Residenza

reception Hotel La Residenza reception The La Residenza hotel is an oasis of tranquillity and well-being just a few minutes away from the historical centre of Milan.

The property is located in an extremely quite setting, sheltered from city chaos yet at the same time a short distance from all major places of interest in the city.

A relaxing and familiar environment where every detail is chosen with the greatest care, from the modern-style interior furnishing to the garden flowers, from the home-made sweets and biscuits served for breakfast to the ample selections available in the wine room.

Among the range of services available there are a garage, a transfer service to the airports, city centre and fairgrounds, an Internet Point and Wi-Fi connection in the hall, an off-site gym at reduced price for hotel guests, a reading lounge and a lovely garden where guests can enjoy their aperitif in the summer.

PLEASE NOTE: the hotel restaurant will be closed from December 24th to 27th inclusive. Breakfast will be served as usual from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Some disturbance from the road back of the hotel. The aircondition in our room was so efficent as wanted. Very good conections to the center of Milano with bus and subway. God value for the money.

This is my first time travelling to Milan. Everything was good - nice staff, tasty breakfast, clean room and bathroom. Besides, as we need to take the next plane at the early moorning, La Residenza can help us to book a shuttle van to the Milan Airport which cost us 80euros, I think it fit us a lot to catch the plane preventing from the heavy traffic. I recoommended this hotel a lot.

We really enjoyed the stay and the only complaint is how noisy the room was. We stayed in the quad room which is right next to the reception desk which means you can hear the phone ringing and people talking. The breakfast was good and it is a good hotel for the price.

It should be clear from the start on the web that the hotel is quite far from the center. The hotel part is good enough (except for the narrow roomspace, though). The staff is fine. The trouble lies in the double standards concerning "ecology": on one side, the stress on the saving of energy cuts the hotel's expenses, for sure, "ecoworld" and all, but on the other side, the standard of quality for food is low and not ecological at all(there is not even a real "fruit juice no sugar added" for breakfast!). Why, if not for a one way profit that does not give a damn about customers ?

La Residenza was an excellent hotel to stay in. The staff was very helpful and provided us with everything we needed. The breakfasts and dinners were outstanding. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a nice hotel but is on a budget.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days when travelling round Italy and France. Not a good area. Hotel was ok, however no garage and the restaurant was closed for the full of August which meant we had to go out all the time. We always had to take the car as the hotel is in the middle of the ghetto! The hotel is nice enough, and once you get in the grounds, you forget the surrounding area, but not good if you are not driving and want access to Milan centre as it's about 10 minutes in the car.

Especially nice was the eco-idea, which is why I chose the hotel in the first place. Arriving from Malpensa 1 to Bivosa, there was no other option than walking to Residenza, as no taxi was available. It was an adventure, without a map. Leaving the hotel was smooth, bus + metro. This information would be good to have on the website, as well as instruction (street map) how to reach it by foot. I was tired and soaking wet when I finally reached the hotel, but was received in such a nice way! Kitchen was closed, but a nice dinner was ordered from a pizzeria nearby. Breakfast next morning was rich and tasty. I especially enjoyed the atmosphere, which was kind, beautiful, tranquil. Lots of beautiful items to rest your eyes on. The ecohotel concept is here to stay! Nice bed, not too soft even for a person used to sleeping on a futon. No smoking was fine, I am allergic to cigarret smoke. My room was a single with bath. Very nice, thank you! Church bells ringing in the morning was nice, too.

Little bit further out that I expected, but once we figured out the bus and train system it was very cheap, quick and simple to get into the middle of milan. Once the next tube stop on the yellow line (3) gets built it should be even easier and take about 7 minutes. Area looked a little dodgy as we got a taxi to the hotel on the first night.. but the hotle was nicely secluded, the area looked much better in daytime. Breakfast was ok, but not amazing... rest of the food in milan was awesome.. especially the apertivo in navigli. Shame the coffee is only from a machine.. but if you pay cash its free so can't complain. Duomo was great too.. but the centre is pretty small and you can probably see all milan has to offer in a long weekend. Get the bus from the airport.. its only 10 minutes longer than the train, and costs half the price. To get to la rezedencia get the bus to the central station (4euro, 45mins) get the tube line 3 to the end (1e, 5 mins) and then get the bus (42, 70, 52?) 5 stops (1e, 5mins) then walk for 1 minute. Easier than it sounds.

We could not find the area of the hotel in the map. The hotel is found far from the city centre in a not so nice neighbourhood. It was difficult to find a restaurant nearby. We had booked a place in the parking of the hotel, but they had not keep it, because we had to call them before our arrival just to confirm the booking, as they had told us. So, we had leave our car outside the hotel, where it was very difficult to find a free place. The breakfast was marvellous and rich. The rooms were not so spacious, but they were clean. Our stay in La Residenza was very good. Reception was quite good. Transfer services of the hotel was very useful though a bit expensive. The elevator was not spacious and its floor used to make noise while you step in. Staffs at the reception was very helpful. The only exception was that we were not informed that eateries/reataurants nearby the hotel closes by 07:00PM while we were inquiring about a paticular restaurant (pizzeria) around 06:30PM on our first day stay. Breakfast served in the hotel was very good and staffs were around to monitor the needs of the guests. Once I misplaced my handycam batteries during my stay in the hotel, which were retrieved by one of the woman staff (who was quite impressive and attractive) from the transfer vehicle; in fact the driver of the transfer vehicle handed it over to the hotel staff.

We had a good stay in la Residenza. The rooms and the hotel were very clean with a lot of good details but in the photos the rooms semmed a little bit bigger. The personnel was very friendly and gave us a good reception and all the information we asked for.The breakfast buffet was good. If you know how the bus lines work, the hotel has a good comunication with public transport service with a very near bus stop. Only 20 min. from the centre. If I remember correctly you can take from Machiccini metro station the buses No. 27, 49 or 52 that stops 200 away from the hotel in Rossi Pastro bus stop. If you're going to Milan and you are looking for a nice place to spend that days I recommend you la Residenza

Good, clean hotel, looked like newly remodelled. The hotel is confortable to stay in for a couple of days. However, even though the hotel is not on a major street, the cars and trucks drive by the whole night long. We had to use ear plugs to be able to sleep.

The hotel is located in the north of the city but not so far from the center of things(ten to fifteen minutes from the tube station by foot but many buses even late at night which means: 12h45).Rooms are not too noisy and quite large.

Following directions given on the Venere site it was very easy to get to "La Residenza" a charming hotel with many beautiful details and a good female touch. Bus stop at short walking distance and the city centre at no more than 20'. Very nice buffet breakfast in a nice dining room and a relaxing garden where I got a drink at candle light. The area was a surprise, it is quite, green and I felt safe walking by myself. I coudn't find a tabacconist open at 11.30 p.m. and this is not a good point for an international city as Milan. I accidentally lost my wallet with 500,00 euros cash within in the lobby and a waitress found it and left it at the reception. Very honest and kind staff. I can say that quality of services provided were excellent. THANKS and see you soon! Mrs. R. Brown

I would definitely never stay here again! Although their service was ok and friendly, the hotel itself was terrible. The walls are literary paper thin and you can here the other guests perfectly clear. The location was horrible! This was located in a residential area and next to the autostrada. It was difficult to find since we didn't drive in on the autostrada, although the map they e-mailed at booking did help some. You can catch a bus to the city center just down the street, if you don't want to drive in. The traffic on the autostrada was audible, it didn't bother too much, but if you're a light sleeper it may. We only wish they had had a mini refrigerator in the room. They allow 10 minutes free internet access, $4 per hour after that. The breakfast had quite a good variety to choose from. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They charge 1 euro for an area map which I found strange, every other hotel gives them to you free. They have pay garage parking for $15/ day or free parking on the street. You only get breakfast free if you pay cash and they do not take traveler's checks. Not sure what they charge for breakfast if you pay by credit card. They have a restaurant as well, but it was closed for August holidays. For traveler's who are not driving, I am not sure it would be the easiest, most accessible choice.

La Residenza was a nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff. On two evenings there was a party with loud music in the church-congregation beneath. But that is not all days ... Totalmente recomendado.

A nice hotel a little bit outside the city center. You must use bus and metro to come to the center. Tickets can be bought at the reception. We stayed 3 nights. OK for the price.

A little further out from city centre then we thought but access to public transport very close we were able to purchase tickets at reception and the staff were very helpful with directions. Needed to catch a bus then a take the subway all fairly straight forward. Breakfast included when paying cash

I reccomend this nice hotel to anybody. The area is quite and and I didn’t expect to find so much green! 3 lines bus stop close to the hotel.Room is clean especially the bathroom and all pretty new. Rich buffet breakfast and good dinner as well. Price versus quality at la Residenza is GREAT! Very helpful and friendly staff, they organized for me a transfer with driver to the main outlet….. I had a fantastic shopping! Thanks

Hotel staff was great. Very friendly and spoke great English! Rooms very clean and good Italian breakfast included! A bit far from the city centre but only a quick bus/train ride away!! I would recommend La Residenza to anyone looking for a great value in Milano! I would definitely return.

The hotel was friendly and clean. Directons were not too clear on first arrival but easy enough once we had been there for a while. The room we stayed in was lovely and was well equipped to accomadate 4 adults. The service received from staff was excellent and they helped with all questions we had.

Gerne wieder.

Absolutely a wonderful experience. Charming hotel very clean, quite rooms with a good working air conditioning. The buffet breakfast is really nice and served in a pleasant enviroment. Staff makes the difference: very friendly and professional they supplied clear and right direction to get to the center and what was worth to be visited. Thank you.

Directions given were accurate. This hotel is quite a bit away from the action. Construction work going on right outside our window - way too much noise.

A very nice hotel, with helpful and kindly staff, the restaurante was very goog, the room very clean and comfortable, the area was safe and quite with a lot of green. To reach the center is very easy by underground it took only 15 min. I'll come back for sure at " la residenza " also with my wife and childrens.

Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. The room is tiny but clean. The Web site mentioned that the breakfast is included but actually it is included if you pay cash only, I knew it before hand by the comments of other people. The direction on the web site is not up to date, so please up date it, I got lost the first date but the staff helped to know my way later.

Its a nice smallish hotel. Rooms are spotless and of good size. Dinner mune is a bit disapointing. Didn't go all the way to Italy to eat roast turkey and pork. Hardly any traditional recipes. Staff are nice, friendly and helpful. Only problem is that the venere map is very misleading of where the hotel actually is, its a lot further away from the city centre that first thought.

We did have a problem trying to find the place! Perhaps a bigger sign on the main street?

We were provided a room near the elevator. The noise made by the elevator all night long made it impossible for us to sleep. When mentioned to the person on duty the next day, she told us the place had just been renovated and made no effort to apologise or offer us anything more in the way of a discount for the inconvenience other than to waive the EUR 10 parking fee we would have been charged, even though there was no such mention of any fee in the description provided on their web page. A very unsatisfactory outcome and not a very welcoming hotel. Very far from central Milan and only found by chance due to poor signposting and inaccurate directions provided. Cannot recommend this property - grateful we only stayed one night!!!

If you pay cash instead of creditcard , you can have a free breakfast in the morning . But nobody keeps track of that , so if you pay by creditcard , you can get that free breakfast also . This is a nice/good hotel . Only one bad thing ; it's not near the centre of Milan .

Very good value for money. Slightly remote location, but a good bus connection exists. Only down side: the walls are paper thin. Make sure you book a room facing the garden, otherwise way too loud.

For a short stay a good choice. Price and comfort - good relationship for a hotel in a main-city of Italy. Rooms are clean, people are friendly. Hotel is not situated near the centre but bus-station is very close and so you are in a few minutes in the centre.

How to reach Hotel La Residenza

By car
From Bologna, take the Tangenziale Est in the direction of Venice; come onto the Tangenziale Nord (A4) in the direction of Turin and exit at Cormano.
From Milan Malpensa airport, take the A8 in the direction of Milan and then the A4 or Tangenziale Nord in the direction of Venice, and exit at the Cormano interchange.
From Venice, follow the Tangenziale Nord (A4) in the direction of Turin, and exit at the Cormano interchange.
From Genoa, take the Tangenziale Ovest towards Turin, and then the Tangenziale Nord (A4) in the direction of Venice, until the Cormano exit.
Once you come out at Cormano, follow the directions for central Milan; when you come off the ramp, make sure you keep to the left and enter the 3-lane main road, go straight ahead under the overpass, and after about 500 metres take the bridge in the direction of Bruzzano-Affori, turning right towards Affori. Keep going until the end lights, and turn left into via Astesani. Keep going for about 1 km until you get to via Pellegrino Rossi, and turn left into via Vignati after the Shell petrol station. At the end of the short via Vignati, turn left into via Scialoia where, on the right-hand side of the street just after the church, you will find the La Residenza hotel. The distance from the Cormano exit to the hotel is about 4 km.

By train
From the Central Station, take the subway yellow line in direction Maciachini and step down on the third and final stop, which is in fact Maciachini. From here you can take any of these 3 buses: no. 41 (Bovisasca), no. 52 (Comasina) or no. 70 (Bruzzano). Get off at the fifth stop at Pellegrino Rossi-Baveno, on the corner of via Vignati. Walk to the end of via Vignati (about 200 metres) and turn left into via Scialoia. You will see the La Residenza hotel on the right-hand side of the street, just after the church. The hotel is number 3. The total journey takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

By airplane
The Malpensa Express train leaves the Milan Malpensa airport every 30 minutes, and takes you to the Bovisa railway station within just 35 minutes for only € 9,00. Once there, you can phone 02.4040 for a taxi, which will take you straight to the hotel in a few minutes (the distance is only of 1.5 km).
From the Linate and Orio al Serio airports, a shuttle bus leaves every 30 minutes for the Milan Central Station, which is the last stop.
