I had a good price for one-night stay in Milan. The room had no real downside to mention, clean with a spacious bathroom and shower. First floor room can be a bit noisy. For a train station option I'd recommend it. Literally across the street.

Hotel is convenient for train station, metro, buses to airports. There are lots of shops and restaurants in area. For an American-style burger, try Mama Kitchen about 2 blocks south on Via Pisani. Also, the self-serve restaurant Pianeta Luna near hotel has a good variety at reasonable prices, and pizza, meats and fish are cooked to order. My room was small with single bed but nicely designed and adequately equipped. TV has lots of channels. This was the 2nd time I stayed here and I would return again.

nice for those who arrive late in the evening by train for close to the station and stay only for few days. quite clean (apart from the aged carpet though cleaned) and tidy room. high cost performance, price vs room & service. internet wasn't free and the connexion wasn't always excellent. poor soundproof, you risk to be disturbed by the neighbors and clean women who start working very early in the morning. no commerce nearby.

Hotel Garda was a pleasant surprise - much more attractive and better staffed than I expected from the price. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view of a courtyard. The staff were attentive and helpful in our securing same-day tickets for La Scala. Located just 5 minutes from the train station, the hotel is all within easy walking distance of the old town centre. I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at the Hotel Garda twice -- very convenient to the Stazione Centrale with quick metro and tram connections to the city centre. The room was slightly faded but spacious, quiet and clean. The staff are very polite and the public areas are attractive. Not a luxury hotel but perfectly comfortable and acceptable in all regards. It offers good value and I would return there again.

Lovely, "classic" hotel close to Central train station. Although it is a 4-stop metro ride from the Duomo downtown core, it is actually a pleasant 30-minute walk through the Giardini gardens (and the lovely Museum of Modern Art) through residential neighbourhoods. My single room was small but clean, and the staff were courteous. The location is ideal for trains and metro, and I found it easily enough using the website's directions. My only real gripe is having to pay for an internet connection, which was free in all my other Italian hotels. All in all, this is a pretty run-of-the-mill budget hotel, but handy location and reasonable cost (for Milan) more than make up for lack of character.

I didn't have time to tell the staff in the next morning since I have to catch a train. Hotel Garda is conveniently located, just a few steps from the central train station. Not for those looking for luxury, but it's perfectly adequate and practical for a short stay. One notable negative is that the room smelled quite strongly of air freshener/carpet deodoriser. But the room itself was in good order. The bathroom was in fact rather large by italian standards. Only real problem was traffic noise during the day - I worried that this might make it hard to sleep, but the street was quiet at night so not a problem. Desk staff spoke English well and were friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel is not one of the more appealing ones in Milan, but the convenience of being so close to the train station more than compensated for this for us. Took us some time to figure out how to turn on the a/c unit (button was not labeled) but that's pretty par for the courses in European hotels. All in all, nothing fancy but seemed like a good deal if convenience and comfort are your top priorities.

I had a single room that was beautifully decorated and appointed. The only negative was the shower--which was just a ceramic plate with a shower curtain that did not touch the bottom, so water leaked on the floor. I had a fabulous rate--the price posted im my room was over 3 times higher! Neighborhood (near Centrale Stazione) has many good restaurants, but there are so many Thai "message parlors" around it looked like Bangkok! Fashion 2 restaurant, across street and very close, has very reasonably priced, good food, but is usually busy.

Very happy with accommmodation and as described on the internet - no nasty surprises. Rooms spotless, a comfy bed and all facilities working well. Only negative is that once you are through the smart reception area the corridor that we were on was a bit tired looking - it's a shame but this seems to be the case with so many hotels. We travelled by train to Arona on Lake Maggiore on the 2nd day and the hotel was really close to the station - a short five minute walk away. We also walked to and from Milan centre which wasn't too onerous though there are plenty of buses and trams everywhere. Would definitely use the hotel again and recommend it.

Really good hotel, especially for its price. I've stayed there two times for one night and I like this hotel. It's really close to the Milano Centrale railway station and it's convenient. I'm going to stay at Garda next time definitely.

Single gay traveler. The location was great, and price-service rate was good. I had a single room with a small bed. The room had so much space that they can place a full size bed instead of the single one.

The hotel was located 2 blocks from the main trainstation and on the same block as the local bus and train station. The room had a big and clean bathroom. The staff was very helpful. The rate for the room was perfect. It was referred by Rick Steves and I would stay again.

We had a great rate. It was close to the train station, metro and bus to the airport. This was our last night in Italy before flying home. Good for a one night inexpensive stay.

This was a pretty good hotel in a great location, very close to main train station and Metro. The room was fairly big and clean. The breakfast room was nice and the food good. They have internet available in the lobby but there is a charge.

Perfect location regarding Stazione Centrale. For For those who care, elevator and the halls were a little bit small and narrow.
