Hotel Galles is situated right next to Corso Buenos Aires, one of the main streets of Milan, close to the underground station Lima (red line MM1).

Its convenient position allows guests to reach Piazza Duomo, Alla Scala theatre, via Montenapoleone, the exhibition centre and much more, very quickly.

The hotel is housed in an ancient building, dating back to 1882 and completely rennovated in 2003, maintaining its historic appeal. It is a lucky combination of elegance and charm, decorated with antique furniture and modern technology.

Two bars, one inside and one in the reading lounge on the first floor terrace, a sun terrace and a high quality restaurant on the sixth floor, satisfy even the most demanding guests. An indoor swimming pool will be available from March 2011.

Breakfast buffet is fabolous and on weekends until 11.00 hrs. The swimming pool, sauna and turkish bath are just a great extra! Bathrobe should be on the room. The location of the hotel at Corso Buenos Aires is perfect for shopping and in front of the hotel is the metro to go to Duomo or Navigli area. We recommend the hotel!

The hotel was as expected from previous reviews. We were only there for one night so all we wanted was a clean, comfortable room in a convenient location and that is what we got. Previous descriptions of the long winding hallway to your room were not exagerated. Having a metro stop just outside the hotel was great.

Excellent hotel, excellent location (You walk out of metro and hotel is directly in front of you - 10 meters), very nice staff. Excellent breakfast, did not eat dinner there as very pricey. If I was to be hyper critical I would say the room was a bit small but far from the smallest I have stayed in. Overall very happy, would definatly recommend.

Great location right next to the metro stop and in the heart of lively shopping and restaurants. While the staff was not overly friendly, they were helpful with ground transportation. The location and availability of breakfast more than made up for the small room size. Overall, a great base for seeing the city. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We have stayed in a triple room, it was large and quite welcoming with a direct access to semi private courtyard, but the ventilation system did not work properly therefore the room was so humid. The exhaust fan in the toilet wasn’t’ work and because they don’t have 24 hours in site technician therefore we wait for 2 days suffering from bad smell until last day of our stay when they send a technician. They do not have room services, which were quite strange to us, you want ice, a pot of hot water, etc you have to go yourself to restaurant on the 6th floor and take it with your self to your room. They charged us 25 euros per day for car park, which did not notify in the webpage. You have to pay online to access wireless internet yourself so that every time I had to log into Italian service provider site giving my credit card number and register which took a long time. They did not notify in the restaurant that which breakfast is included into your package. I remember a young couple taking the food from the table and after all staff informed them that they have to pay 17 euros per person because their menu is not American breakfast , and obviously the didn't want to pay 34 euros for the dishes. So you can imagine that they had to empty the stuff back into original places and take from the other dishes while the others ridiculously smiling or laughing at them. They should place a clear sign for different menus indicating which menu placed where. This hotel located in a good district with shops, bars, restaurant. We were quite happy with the environment. Car park was safe and your private garage locked by remote control. The reception desk was helpful but its better not to ask them their opinion about good landmarks in Milan.

This hotel was typical-small rooms, small shower. I really have no complaints, it suited our purpose and location was good, staff was helpful. There was construction going on next to the hotel so we often woke up to the sound of jack hammers but that's not the hotel's fault.

I would not class this as a four star hotel. The picture did not resemble the room that we had. The breakfast was excellent. The gym facilities etc were not free which the hotel does not tell you. Hotel is an excellent location. The bar man was helpful with places to eat and go out etc.

Caution if you want a quiet stay. I had a room on the first floor facing the street. The street noise was not the problem. The subway is located below the hotel. Very noisey! But it is very convenient if you use this transportation.

Although we only stayed one night, we had a nice time at the hotel. The restaurant was nice and the staff was polite. the only complaint I have is that on the morning we left for the airport, all of the elevators were out of order and we had to grag our bags down 5 flights of stairs. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

I enjoyed my stay at Galles very much. The room was very well furnished, clean and very well cleaned and tidied every day. The breakfast was good, plenty of it and good selection. Hotel was easy distance by Metro from the centre of Milan and good selection of shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.

I found the location of the hotel very central, the metro system was right outside the entrance to the hotel which made traveling around the city enjoyable. The hotel itself was very nice. I found it clean and inviting. However the reception staff were not very friendly. We stayed in a triple room which i found quit small in comparison to the photographs shown on the website. However it was clean and fresh and quiet at night. Overall i had a pleasant stay in Hotel Galles and would recomment it to my friends and family.

The hotel is well located for shops, and public transport with a metro entrance a few metres away. Although major pipe works are being undertaken at the front entrance of the hotel, this was not a problem for this time of the year. The rooms were clean, food excellent and staff friendly. A small point though, the brochure indicates free coffee in the rooms, but this was not the case. It must be purchased in the front downstairs hallway. Overall, I would commend this hotel to anyone.

This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at during our 2 week trip through Italy. They actually gave us a gigantic suite simply because I mentioned that it was our honeymoon when we booked the room. The only downfall was that my wife got food poisoning from the hotel restaurant, and we almost missed our flight. They didn't do much to help us out in a very stressful and difficult situation, but otherwise, the hotel was great.......

The room was clean and pretty. Breakfast was ok (in Italy breakfast is - like in Gallas - often smaller). There was only one sort of bread, no cheese or ham but little cakes and fruits. We tried to use the sauna (6 € per person) but after waiting in it for 15 minutes and calling twice the reception we gave up since it stayed cold. The reaction of the reception was really unfriendly!

I stayed at Galles 2 different times, from 10-18 of october 2003 and from the 26-5 of november 2003, and it was great. The best feature was it's location. Right outside the hotel you can find the "metropolitana" and it's very easy to go everywhere by metro. The hotel is located right beside Corso Buenos Aires which is one of the most important streets in Milan, it has bookshops, small coffeeshops whith outside tables, a lot of stores for shopping, and not very far, walking distance, a beautiful public park. The staff at the hotel was always nice and helpfull, fully bilingual. The food at the restaurant at the 6th floor was great. the only trouble i found the first week i stayed there was the noise outside the room.. i think they where remodeling.. but then the second time i had another room and it was great. Except for the tiny showers, everything was perfect. Right in front of the hotel there is a small coffee shop that has the best "caffé Latte" i've ever had!! So i had a wonderfull time at Milan and at the hotel. I would recomend it and go there again.

Our visit to Milan proved to be a memorable occasion. The hotel we stayed in was of good quality with good service generally. The room was adequate in size and the bed was very comfortable. General decor, furnishings etc was also of good quality. Milan itself was interesting, plenty to see and do, well worth a visit. It is however a very expensive city to shop and socialise in. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend Verere.com for your hotel reservations.

I was extremely disappointed with the size of the room. The pictures on the web showed spacious rooms, with double sinks in the bathroom, however our double room and two others that I was shown were extremely small. The bathrooms were also tiny and I kept knocking myself on the sides as there was not enough room to manoeuvre I was also disappointed with the breakfast offered - the menu was miminal and if you wanted a hot breakfast, you had to pay extra for this. This was certainly not told to me beforehand. I was very surprised when I was told I would have to pay for items from the hot buffet. Also the web stated that there were excellent views of the Milan rooftops from the 6th floor restaurant - in actual fact there was no view because the perimeter is cordoned off with a tresil fence. The plus points were the location - next to a subway station - so it was easy to get about; and the staff - they were helpful and polite.

We believed that car parking was inclusive in price, but we were told that a private car park is available for E21. The hotel being located above the subway, it vibrates each time a train passes by.
