Location location location! Very near historical sights? Check. In the midst of great shopping? Check. Friendly & helpful staff? Check. Superfast room internet (via cable)? Check. Big breakfast? Check. Offered cuppucino without asking? Check! Only downside - tacky metal basin in bathroom.

We were here in April 2010. Nice clean, quiet hotel in a good location. We had a nice open view of a small park from our room on the 4th floor so it did not feel too "big city". The hotel is old, but has been modernized inside. Staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk spoke fairly good english. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy. Fresh fruit, eggs, ham, sausage, toast, briche, fruit juice, milk, cappucino. Service was fast and efficient clearly aimed at the business traveler. All restaurants in the area recommended by the hotel staff were rather expensive, but Milano is very expensive. Shower was a shower hose in a bathtub. It was adequate, but not a fully enclosed modern shower. Free unlimited wifi if you had a laptop.

Too bad the Italian hotel do not refresh the design of their rooms. Because of this, currently all of them seems overpriced.

The 2 rooms we booked reeked of cigarette smoke odors! We were assigned Rm 707 and this had bad lighting, no air conditioning, dead phone lines (someone had to knock on our door for a wake up call!!!) and so much mosquitoes; my son and I had around 75 mosquito bites between us after a 2-night stay (this does not include my husband's bites)! His right ear got swollen bec. of this! I had to bring him to the doctor to make sure there is no infection upon our return to the US. I complained to the Front Desk after our first night about the mosquitoes, no phone line/airconditioning and smoke odors and all the guy could say is that, it's mosquito season (even we were on the 7th floor, mind you!) and air conditioning is not allowed bec. it's the autumn season. This hotel badly, badly needs a major overhaul! The replies given and what they did to resolve the matter (put ineffective plug-ins to ward off the mosquitoes) were unacceptable for a 4-star rated hotel. My poor son looked like he went to a mosquito-infested city/country and this is a cosmopolitan city- Milan!. It really gave me a bad lasting impression of the hotel and the city as well.

We arrived in Milan by train at lunch time and left for Paris first thing the next morning. Although expensive this hotel was ideally situated for us right in the centre, 5 minutes walk from the Duomo and not much further to La Scala and the smart shops of the Galleria. Very nice to be met by porter as we arrived by taxi. Very large well equiped room on busy street but quiet due to special blinds at windows which seemed to cut out the noise. However seemed rather an old fashioned hotel with gloomy corridors. The breakfast was excellent and started at 6.30, although reception didn't seem to know this, enabling us to have breakfast before an early train to Paris. Do go up to the roof terraces of the Duomo and if you want an inexpensive evening meal go to the self service Autoexpress Spa nearly opposite the hotel and eat at plastic topped tables with the locals.

When I go to bed in the cabaret room, someone entered room to steal all cashs. To this, the cabaret employee's brush-off undertakes a responsibility, and say is I took a bad person to enter building, so is steal.

Très bonne localisation aussi bien pour les visites que pour le shopping, personnel très aimable et attentif, chambre extrêmement propre, grande salle de bain, petit-déjeuner très bon et copieux, design et luxe des années 70. Cet hôtel a dépassé mes espérances, vraiment recommendable.

The rooms were very nice except the mattresses on the bed and the pull out sofa were very uncomfortable. They really need new ones We also were bothered with mosquitos the first night, in fact we sustained several bites on the face and hand. The staff did plug something in our rooms the next day to protect against the mosquitos, but it should have been in the rooms before we arrived. I am sure they have had this problem before. The staff was very friendly but the front desk did not have updated info on certain tours and Mass times at the Duomo. The breakfast buffet was lovely and certainly enough of a variety to satisfy anyone. We did not eat any other meals at the hotel.

After staying in an unwelcome environment in Rome the Hotel Galileo was my salvation. The staff were always very helpful and the room was spacious and functional. My stay at the Hotel saved my vacation and was my sanctuary away from the hustle & bustle that is Milano.

A most enjoyable stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was very good and the staff were most helpful. Landmarks such as the Duomo were easy walking and Milan impressed us as a very chic and clean city.

This was one of the most expensive hotels of our trip and well worth it. It was very close to the train which we took from the airport and right around the corner from the Duomo. The room was beautiful and equipped with all sorts of luxuries. Our only regret was that due to our schedule, we were not able to linger over the buffet breakfast which was plentiful. The late checkout at 2 was also wonderful in that we were able to tour the city before checking out on the day of our departure. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is beautifully located, a short walk to the Duomo and everything surrounding it. Also, within easy walk is the best designer shopping in the world. The rooms were large, the breakfast substantial. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
